  1. I wonder what Cordero would say off the record regarding not being used on Wednesday. I'm sure to a reporter he would say on the record that it is Yost's call and he'll do whatever he is asked. But what about off the record to his friends, family, teammates, etc.? Love to be a fly on the bullpen wall sometime.
  2. can't you find some funjet package to vegas or something? I've seen them in the past for something like $100. But that was ten years ago.
  3. yeah, I have yet to see any WMLW games on Directv here in AZ, even on channel 658 or whatever alternate channel you get it in WI. Definitely no telemundo, either. So that would royally suck if I can't see it at all.
  4. well, where's that official prediction thread from April 2nd (or whatever)? Let's see what most of us said! I think that 24-10 start changed alot of views and opinions about the team. It is disappointing they blew the big lead? Sure. But look at other teams around the league that have blown/are blowing leads. Yeah, Mets, I'm looking right at you! Hey, Red Sox, you had a 14 game lead and it's down to 2 1/2!
  5. And. . . . with one too many images, you put a hex on the whole thing. We can hope not, though, I suppose. C'mon Bush, get out of the first inning unscathed!
  6. Jimbo, you were inline with what I was thinking. Sha-na-na was great!
  7. don't know the exact numbers, but I remember hearing/reading about this just a few weeks ago. Ned Yost isn't even close to the most in the majors. I think the Mets, Phillies, and Indians (maybe more) had more lineups than the Brewers. Red Sox, too, I think.
  8. again, dougjones, don't mean to pick on another post, but perhaps Ned does that just to throw off the opposition? I doubt it, but it's a possibility that he's using a little bit of "smarts" from that point of view. But, again, I doubt that's what he's doing.
  9. I don't know that I'd necessarily consider myself a genius, but I can tell you that these numbers: .320/.350/.553/.903 are all much bigger than these numbers: .230/.299/.443/.742 At least I think they are. If not, my kindergarten teacher has some serious explaining to do... I'm going to vent that my kindergarten teachers didn't teach me proper mathematical facts way back when! I mean, dougjones learned DECIMALS in kindergarten for crying out loud, while I was stuck learning how to say the numbers on the sides of blocks! I kid, of course.
  10. I just can't imagine having to sleep with those masks on. I've seen those in a breathing specialty store once. It's the whole nine yards with some of them. I definitely would have problems because I'm a tummy-sleeper (sleep on my stomach). Of course, because I sleep that way, I don't snore.
  11. I think my wife has a mild case of it, what with her snoring and then sudden loud snorts because it sounds like she wasn't breathing for 10 seconds or whatever. She thinks I'm a loon when I tell her to stop snoring. I think she should get it checked out, just to be safe, but I don't think she thinks it's that bad. Maybe I should videotape her with the nightvision on our camcorder.
  12. yep, no first place tie today, but we can at least gain a half game back tonight. Of course, Suppan needs to do the job and so the 9-game losing streak Cardinals. Isn't this 2 years in a row that the Cards have had a long losing streak as the season was ending?
  13. not what I wanted to see after the Badger game
  14. I'll agree with that, too. Does he deserve an extension? Probably but I'm not sold on $15 Million per.
  15. I disagree, invader. I realize this was a vent, but he is our ace. It just sucks that our ace didn't pitch like one tonight--and that I will agree with you on. Even Johan Santana gets lit up every now and then.
  16. why no Shouse in that 8th inning anyways? Why Mitch? I didn't get that one. At first, I thought maybe Shouse still wasn't back but then there he was later on warming up in the pen and, obviously, into the game. That one run ended up being humongous.
  17. Have fun for me and my wife, by the way. Drink a cool one for both of us and bring us a victory!
  18. I wouldn't mind if we were able to sign one of those career backup defensive catchers like a Henry Blanco or Todd Pratt kind of guy. Somebody that can spell Estrada late in a game with a better arm and also make a spot start here and there. Unfortunately, I think if we went that route they'd almost have to have a 3rd catcher on the roster or somebody like Rottino that can play catcher and has experience doing so.
  19. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n116/pitchleague/5.jpg I'm the one on the left. My wife (hammytime here on the board) is obviously on the right. Not pictured: our squirrel and chipmunk family. EDIT: the wife thought I should put some "better" photos up than the one off the cell phone, so here you go. http://i110.photobucket.com/albums/n116/pitchleague/danandjenelle.jpg first one is at Field of Dreams in Dyersville, IA second one is at a scenic overlook pullout at Painted Desert National Monument in Arizona Man, I've got alot skinnier since summer. Beer gut starting to go "buh-bye" makes me happy! (I know, it doesn't look like I need to lose anything but to me it was semi-embarrassing and I didn't want to look my dad when I get older, so I thought I'd get after it now rather than later).
  20. two breweries that I must stop at every time I drive thru town are: Eddie McStiff's Brewpub in Moab, UT. Very delicious beer (Canyon Creme Ale is to die for). And many flavors to choose from. Estes Park Brewery in Estes Park, CO. Again, excellent beer (Long's Peak Red and Honey Weiss are two top notch flavors).
  21. well, I finally watched the pilot and second episode on TBS last night (first time I've ever watched The Office). It was enjoyable. Not laugh out loud funny but still funny. I'll keep watching in hopes that it gets better. So many others say it does, so I'll take your word for it.
  22. personally, I kind of don't mind that we're facing better pitchers right now and for the rest of the month. If we make the playoffs, we're not going to be facing AAAA guys anymore, so we might as well see what we're really made of right now.
  23. Aquaphobia. I can't swim and I just have general fear of drowning. Heck, I can barely stand getting water on my face in the shower. Ironically, I love water parks.
  24. adam, I'd very interested to see what you get as a response--if you even get a response.
  25. I have a buddy of mine that gave me grief today about not driving the 2 hours up to Vegas to see the game last night. I countered that I've done it before, but mostly it was because I figured tickets would be fairly scarce due to all the people traveling to Vegas to see the game. I did tell him that getting tickets via walk-up for a UNLV-Wyoming game (what he's done in the past) is a heck of a lot easier than walking-up for tickets to a UNLV-Wisconsin game.
