  1. I'll go with something like this: Brewers 35-25 Cardinals 32-28 Reds 32-28 Cubs 29-31 Pirates 25-35
  2. Oooooh, good question! I hadn't thought about that! My wife and I cut Extra Innings out of our budget for the first time this spring, since SSH got mlb.tv for free. We were eagerly anticipating and wondering how good it would be. It'll be a shame if, on July 24th, we suddenly don't have access. Good thing there are a couple games on July 23rd! (although, they're probably both nationally televised games and won't be on the mlb.tv) I may have to contact someone about this.
  3. YEAH!!! Someday, I'm hoping to see a launch of the Falcon Heavy rocket with astronauts aboard. That thing just takes off from the launch pad! I'd be curious to hear the astronaut's thoughts on a lift off and flight like that!
  4. I had my covid-19 test this afternoon in preparation for hernia surgery on Friday. It's been rescheduled from the original March date which was, obviously, cancelled due to the breakout of the whole pandemic. I was very glad to see that they gave me that mouth swab test instead of the nasal test. I don't think I could do that one!
  5. For the most part, no. You could definitely watch Better Call Saul before Breaking Bad. However, there will also be characters and other things that you could understand MUCH better if you saw Breaking Bad first. That's just my opinion, though.
  6. Thurston, I am very sorry for your loss.
  7. MLB Network just finished airing game 2 of the '82 Series and just started airing game 7 of the same series. Shows you how much I need a baseball fix, as I watch a pair of guaranteed losses. (The production values are absolutely awful compared to even 20 years ago!)
  8. I love the very first highlight on that video. Base hit to left field and . . . . Arcia just stands there and watches it go! LOL!
  9. Some of that video on the highlights is very choppy. Since I don't have a Playstation and have never tried the show, are those highlights and / or the game itself always choppy like that? Just wondering.
  10. My wife has been waiting to see "The Lion King" traveling Broadway show for years. She missed it when it was in Vegas some 10-15 years ago and we were never in a city that had it going on. We have tickets to see them in Phoenix in June. It's not looking good. I know she is disappointed.
  11. I love Brett Anderson's face! It LOOKS like he just gave up 5 earned runs in less than 2 innings! HAHA!
  12. Boardwalk Empire is an excellent show. I really liked it as well when it was on. Thumbs up for trying something different.
  13. I would have to imagine that IF there is a spring training in June, all "spring training" games in Arizona would be night games. By June, it's going to be 100+ degrees in Phoenix everyday, sometimes before it's even noon. I would also be wary of players easily getting hurt, dehydrated, or get heat exhaustion / stroke quite often.
  14. Well, with no live baseball on, I was looking forward to watching the FS-Wisconsin re-broadcast of last year's opening day. So, I settle in to my chair and watch the MLB Network Opening Day special. Then, at the bottom of the hour, I turn on FS-Wisconsin and see that they are airing that On Deck special. So, I hit record on the ol' Directv DVR. At the top of the hour, I turn on FS-Wisconsin for the game and we get all of about 8 words out of Matt LePay's recorded mouth and . . . . Directv blacks out the game!!!!! I check other channels on the sports pack and some other channels are blacked out while others are not and they ARE showing their classic opening day games. What gives, Directv???? I can understand (sort of) the blackout rules for LIVE games, but for a RECORDED game from a year ago?????? There literally are NO live games right now, so why black out ANYTHING????? Yes, I'm ticked, even though in the grand scheme of things I shouldn't be. edit: And, yes, I know that I have MLB.tv now so I could just fire it up on the app, too, but it's just the principle behind the blackout that bugs me. EVERY Opening Day, whether there are live games or not, apparently, Directv screws SOMETHING up. Some years, they haven't even activated my Extra Innings package so I get home from school, excited to watch my recording, and all I got was 6 hours of black-screen.

  16. My wife and I are both teachers here in Arizona. We just finished our first week of spring break, with one week to go. They HAD been having each district decide whether to stay open or close and we were going to return with business as usual on March 23rd, unless our board and superintendent thought otherwise. Well, today the governor shut down all the schools through March 27th, so that's another week off. With no sports. Ugh. What really bugs me is that on March 5th my wife and I headed for the car to start spring break, eager to leave the building. A co-worker, who had been telling people how he / she was going to fulfill his / her spouse's bucket list item of a trip to Bali. Originally, they were flying there via China, but that got cancelled and they flew via Australia. On his / her way to the car, walking next to us, he / she declared, "Hey, I'm heading to Bali! I'm going to bring back the Corona virus and infect you all." And off he / she went. Now, I am a sensible and rational enough of a person to realize that this co-worker was likely joking around. But you know, even then, I did not think it was a joking matter one bit. And now, when he / she returns to school, what will be done? I know the administration and superintendent are all aware of this trip. So this bugs me, that my health and the health of hundreds of kids and adults could be jeopardized. It hasn't made my spring break any less anxious.
  17. Here's video of that catch: Are my ears playing tricks on me, or is the Keith Jackson and Howard Cosell calling a BASEBALL game together? Your ears are working just fine. That's them all right! On an aside, yesterday I clicked on that link and ended up watching from that moment until the rest of the game. The commericals were great LOL! But when an old Miller Lite ad popped up, it sent me down the rabbit hole for the next couple of hours watching all those old "less filling, tastes great" commercials. What a walk down memory lane! Some of them are still pretty funny (unless you don't know who any of those guys are!)
  18. Yes sir! Our League (PITCH League Baseball) has been in operation since 1989, when we used the Pursue the Pennant board game. We moved to Diamond Mind in 1995 or so and haven't looked back since. The only problem is that because many league members now have families and kids, the league has kind of slowed down to a crawl. We finished up the off-season (trades, free agency, drafts, etc.) for the 2016 season (based on 2015 MLB) last summer but we haven't touched it since because of other commitments. We still play but it's not like the old days. I could possibly be persuaded to join your league. Go ahead and send me some info and I'll take a look.
  19. I get MLB.TV free with my Extra Innings subscription via Xfinity (Comcast). I did, too, with Directv. But being free with my 20-game season ticket package (which I don't use--other family does), it made sense to ditch the $150 given to Directv and just watch for free, thanks to the Brewers.
  20. I made the move last night. Cancelled MLB Extra Innings with Directv and we're going to try the MLB.TV subscription. We've watched a little spring training action and it seems to be okay. I really should try to hard wire the connection rather than wi-fi just to make sure it's a good strong connection. We figure we'll know within the first week of the regular season if we want to go back to the Extra Innings package or not. Who knows? Maybe I'll miss all those Menard's commercials and lawyer ads, LOL!!!
  21. I think my wife and I have decided to give it a try. It supposedly will be activated before spring training games begin so I can try it out for a week or so before making the final decision. Directv told me that I will be billed for the first installment of Extra Innings on March 15th so I can cancel before then. And they also told me that if i change my mind, I can always renew the subscription after the season starts. Thanks for the information!
  22. Sorry to dig up an old topic, but I received my yearly email for the free subscription to MLB.TV with my 20-game season ticket package. For years, we have had the MLB Extra Innings package on Directv but I am seriously considering cutting that service (and the $183 price tag!) and using the free subscription with my Roku player. I live in Arizona so the blackout rules for most Brewer games will not apply (I still will get the Sports Pack so I can watch pre- and post- game coverage, as well as the games in which the Brewers play in Phoenix.) Anyway, reading reviews online are a crap-shoot. Some people love it, some people hate it. Some complain of buffering on 1gb super fast ethernet speeds. Some don't. I don't know what to believe. Can I get any user reviews from you folks? Thanks in advance!
  23. Double of nothing he eats it! As for Bryant, I don't think there is any way he ends up a Brewer. And I really doubt that the Cubs are going to trade him, either. But you never know, I suppose.
  24. Why not play along? Brewers 88 Reds 87 Cubs 85 Cardinals 78 Pirates 69
