    Any deal with a top 10 Baseball market should look like robbery on the Brewers end. As another or few have posted, these teams can part with say Torres and spend big on a FA. How about the Yankees rumors of Andujar because now 3b opens up and the money NY saves on Hader going forward allows them to swoop in and sign Donaldson. We're parting with an 16mil Lockdown RP that for 4years likely makes only half that, with the caveat that injury or regression lowers his salary moving forward. This is compared to the Yankees signing their HOF RP Riviera 15mil per guaranteed and relying on health and effectiveness to earn that 60mil deal(13-17) Dellin Betances wants 10mil for a 1yr likely prove it deal after injury in Sept to ask for more and longer next year. Under 5mil this year for Best in baseball, or pay 10mil on a guy coming off an injury. For these top markets at or above luxury tax, what looks to us as under 5mil is 6mil to them. 10mil for Betances could turn out being 14.5 to them. The trade simulators you use do not take that in to effect. Hader needs to be a value around 64mil vs what did I see 43? In here? To those markets the Brewers trade with. Because a comparable value RP in FA for them to pay for costs them more after being taxed. Having Andujar lead off a trade proposal from the Yankees while having equal team control? Being Damaged goods. That is trying to get 60mil value for Andujar and 20 for Hader. Flipping the way the offer should be heading.

    Yeah it was early to think all that positive to that score. 14pts was never going to be enough to beat that N.O. team. If it were 27-0 late in the 3rd I think I'd be okay to wonder on the scenario you were asking. So all 3 teams with 11-3 record have had trouble winning their games. Can Rodgers turn in a Dec game of old and make this team scary? Like this Seattle game now theres an upset looking closer and closer to reality.

    It isn't a terrible place to spend I don't think. $4+ million is still $4+ million .. but Shaw is a lottery ticket who might have gotten Moustakas type money if last year hadn't happened. Maybe there is a flaw in his swing that developed over the last 12+ months that Milwaukee couldn't figure out? If Toronto can find it and fix it ... what a steal. Shaw was nontendered. He wasn't in line to make Moustakas type money with a good year last season. Good luck to him. He'll need it away from MP.

    I dont know all the bats but pitching i do. Rodon is an injury waiting to happer SP that Id now consider in the bullpen. Giolito finally emerged as the Ace about 4years later than expected. Cease is a future ToR at any moment guy. Adding Keuchel means this team is NY Mets Pitching staff of the last 5years about to happen. They are a sleeper for WS ability this year now.

    Do we even match up for them to trade? I think this is a Hader situation where it'd cost us Hiura plus plus. They dont really intend to trade him until Unreal is offered.

Can he be the player he was last season w/o regression? Acknowledging our window with Yelich, who cares on year 4? When you get a beast at the plate the level of Donaldson. You want to argue about Shaw? Nothing in Shaw's history in statcast was top 20 or borderline elite. So maybe at the regression Donaldson is Best 2 years of Shaw with Milw. (I know not mentioned Shaw stopping that argument before it starts) I just believe there isn't enough money to sign him now. They would need like a 20/27/27\25 type deal

    This isn't spray graph but close: Looks like he pulls from either side. Moreso from the left side. Yeah so when he bats LH hes going to be batting vs the shift. RH less likely.

    On the subject of spray hitting. Does it differentiate from split hitters? Or is the spray chart based on every hit regardless batting Left vs Right?

    With the Smoak signing. I think Arcia is done with this Sogard signing. I dont recall if Arcia has an option but in terms of the 26man roster Arcia isn't making it without injury helping him.

    What I read in comments from MLBTR Jays fans said hes unlucky due to shifts. At the same time heres positives. He is a top 10 in the league for BBs(Grandal) He is around top of the League for Pirches per AB seen. His K pct is likely below 25% Splits are hes better vs RHP. If we're talking Platoon with Braun hasn't Braun struggled more recently vs RHP? Checking and the OPS was just at 800. Still better than Smoak but marginally. What Smoak must be dealing with is a Heavy shift when batting LH. Another positive. Smoak's most often placement in batting order was 3rd! last season. He should fill in at the 5 or 6 range making that "clog the base paths" comment from Jay fans less important. They seem to be high on his defense. Whatever the stats say. Sounds like we aren't needing to worry about his defense. So less Ks more BBs than Shaw or Thames of last season. Seems we are improved than last season at 1b. Does take away the fitting a Hader from Mets trade ideas. Money saved though.

    Wow I check at any new new and we signed another player. How many days in a row is this? 4? Hate the price we paid. This should be an incentive laden contract up to 4.5mil. At 1.5 starting off. His track record says it all. He's a 1War player. Oh he's Lefty. Well that makes him the plays most side on a platoon lineup. Too much playing time for my liking. There are other FAs to target out there still and 4.5mil now is 4.5mil less you will offer towards them. Look at it like this. The news for Hader being a Super 2 and a 4.6mil 1st year Arb suggestion brought immediate rumors that Stearns would listen to trade offers for him. Sogard just got 4.5 for whatever value you think he may bring. Compared to the best value you can possibly get for a RP. And theres no way Sogard is up for 500PAs or more of playing time this year. So he's essentially a RP value, far from a good one. With Urias this signing or type of player that is of the Sogard mold will likely be available when the guy doesn't make the team out of Spring Training. It could have waited.

    I like this too. However, I am not convinced the Mets give up an elite bat in Davis PLUS two pitching prospects... Davis doesnt fit in their defense. They played him in LF and he graded horribly. The SP prospects are like 11 and 13 in their top 30. McNeil because hes better defensively at 3b has to be on their non trade pieces. They're trading for Hader here I wouldnt be surprised if we asked for one of the teams top SS or 3b prospects with only 1 Pitcher in return. But we have Turang, Erceg and now Urias so I'd throw a dart at SPs vs IF bats. The Mets have a really nice thought of SP but hes projection and 2+years from ML. I could see the 2 that I mentioned be late season adds for the BP if that is struggling or facing injuries. When Anderson is gone you can have 1 of them potentially fill the SP spot.

    I've worked this out on the 3b thread. Hader for JD Davis, Kevin Smith, and another SP prospect sczrecki or something. Play Davis at 1b. Those 2 pitchers are probably a year away but you get a 1b that put his bat in Elite contact territory with similar splits vs RH&LH. I know you want to fill 1b&3b with Smith&Mcneil. The thing is Davis has a poorer profile for 3b defense. Mets have Alonso for 1b. Youre forcing them to play Davis @3b when removing McNeil. I think that becomes a no deal. But that would actually leave the best hitter of the 3 available with 5yrs control to be 1b for Milw who doesnt need a platoon. Now we turn around and get crazy with the 4+mil you save on Hader and sign Donaldson for 3/81mil. You have a complete lineup set for 2years. All of basically .266+ BA with various degrees that make them .800+ bats. (4 potentially .950+) No platoon at 1b or 3b. Bonus Pitcher now to use for bullpen. Just do it. I want to find Stearns and convince him he cant go wrong with these two moves.

    You are kidding right? McNeil is good but Kevin Smith?? He was horrible at AA ( .209/.263 - 151 Ks in only 463 ABs) Baty is still in rookie ball and 4-5 years away. Brewers can do much, much better. Add Tomas (going to spell wrong) Sczapecki and I think youve got a decent return for Hader. Turn around and Sign Donaldson and Boom. Watch out. Btw that is finishing my JD Davis trade notion. You'd suddenly have this lineup: 1b Davis high OB OF Yelich 2b Hiura 3b Donaldson OF Cain OF Garcia/Braun C. Narvaez SS Urias Seriously this is maybe best offense in Baseball level especially if Urias took a step forward. You dont need Hader for shutting down 3run leads.

    JD Davis also cannot play defense. No way am I trading Hader for Davis alone. Not a chance. So 1b beyond 2020 is not possible? He's logged time at 1b. His bat will play top notch for 1b. Youre passing on a guy that has the makings of a .900+OPS for 5seasons because defensively he would be a problem for 2020. The thing of it is based on his defense, we should get more for Hader. If the future plan would be Davis at 1b then its a no on Smith. So who else we going to get? Ill have to delve in to the Depth charts.

    Ok Statcast from baseball Savant is where its at. Looking at it Id trade Hader for JDDavis straight up. Hes at Yelich level batting profile. Josh Donaldson had his best exit velocity last year near 93MPH! Jose Ramirez for Hiura would be terrible. Hiura has a better Bat profile with only needing to reduce the k%. If Ramirez had the K% of Hiura were staring at Arcia level bat profile. That is it. If you want All Star level. Nobody offers above average statcast profile. JD Davis for your fantasy teams folks if you miss out on Donaldson. Like Seriously Hiura had a better bat profile than Vlad Jr last year. It's all about K% that keeps his numbers from top 10 in all of baseball. JD Davis for Hader straight up and have an elite bat for what? 5 seasons? Both Davis and Hiura had better exit velo than Trout last season but basically that is Trout level all of the last 5 seasons. Trout is #1 or 2 the last 5 years on the Barrel %.

    Come on. Dont be that guy. 7 player deals getting rid of junk taking in expensive junk timesX2. You're not going to see that kind of trade. What even is the point of Lowrie? To Waive because you have Davis and Smith now. What does clearing payroll for The Mets do now? They'd have to be in talks for Donaldson or Ryu. Stick to simplicity. 1bad contract maybe proposals.
