  1. Whoa. Amazing! I clicked Atlanta and zoom all their stats/rankings. Pitching rich&Acuna. I'd wonder on offensive trades for pitching prospects they are loaded with?
  2. I'm going to guess they keep 14, Move up back in to the 1st round to get a player who is falling. The pick cost wouldn't be as much as moving up in to the top 8 or 10 as it would be to move in to say 22 from 45. Which is fairly crazy but yeah.
  3. Delete page 5's optimism...Lacking. WINS Wins Wins! Beating the teams we're supposed to. Yelich is back! 2IP saves! Thames HRs, Braun HRs! Arcia defense! Chacin's 1st Brewer win. RUNS Runs runs! Another day closer to Nelson's return, Burnes debut, Peralta's debut, excitement!!!
  4. Now that it has reached 4 games I think you can assume an advantage. There will be more rainouts with summer T-Storms, you are eliminating off days and forcing double headers at a time the Cubs are healthy and should be fresh. Mid-season down the stretch 10day DL stints by their good players while having 11 or 12 games in that time should lead to more losses. But it's the Cubs, and I'll guess they'll find a way to not play all 162 games if they don't need it to make the playoffs.
  5. Havent read through this and caught up. So I could be saying something already said. But of the Big 4 FA SPs, only Arrieta is helow 5ERA and hes only thrown 10.2 in 2 starts at 3.38. So the Rotation would be bad thus far in the season no matter who pitched for us. Guerra beats all of them to this point now.
  6. Didn't Thames' April of HRs include many vs. the Reds last season? Not advocating playing time one way or another, straight Platoon works for me. Just feasts on Reds Pitching
  7. Just seen video of Braun's throw out at 3rd. 1 hop on the bag from the wall in St. Louis. That is 20 for him in last 2 seasons+ or 220 games of of Innings in the OF. That's really solid for a the hate he gets on his defense prowess.
  8. Haha, Grisham or Ray Raking? Too much. Braun's bad year as you say is their Ceiling "Raking" year.
  9. Let me just say, Super 2. Yes it can become very expensive. But, pitchers. How many instances are there with pitchers getting hurt/TJ losing a season-plus. Loses velocity. And is nothing exciting shiny and new vs 6years later? Matt Harvey was amazing,. TJ later, he is yet to put amazing back together. Pittsburgh has had Cole, Taillon, and another I cant think of right now. 6 years-170days make that happen vs 6 years 120 days. A pitcher is too fragile to rely with on out-growing your ability to pay him for his 6th or 7th years. Woodruff missed his debut to injury and put off. If Burnes becomes a case where we get 4years-170days as a Minor League farm for the Yanks/Dodgers so be it. We'll get a great return in prospects and begin this cycle over. If it ends up being Burnes is a #3 vs higher, he wont be priced above the teams ability to pay him down the road. 10games he can start more now. The team needs the injection.
  10. #1 future Ace, Former Ace, #1, and today #2 future 1. Oh and Yelich's bat missing.
  11. Im with ya on calling him up once hes gotten that extra year of team control. Not worried at all on Super 2. In a way, what if this move is what happens for Woodruff's demotion? Kneble going down for 2months saves money right there in his arbitration cases. And you can always give the extension contract to reduce impact of Super2 year to year. Without looking it up, I imagine he doesnt have Boras as his agent. Id actually call for a six man rotation, where the back end three, can be emergency longman. Now you really get results determining your trade deadlines/future moves with rotation, while having lower IP with the 4? Less starts needed on a 5man rotation.
  12. Even with that being the case... when he goes colder is completely self inflicted. His patience lags his strike zone expands you see his floor. Most cold spells are self inflicted. That’s baseball. I just thought it was cool that they compared it to other notable Brewers. Edit: I think you are correct with Braun though and his inability to lay off a low and away slider. His numbers would’ve been that much greater had he ever figured that out. Generally when I see Braun flail away at a slider way outside, I think hes guessing the pitch wrong (fastball?changeup?) Why? Dont know, the book's gotta be out on his 2strike tendency to flail at sliders away from home plate. Corey Hart was bad at them, but Braun of late gives Hart a run for his money.
  13. I didn't flat call him a HoF. But his potential is there, he's not retired obviously and still playing. I mentioned Arcia as well. The thread title says former or current with a shot. When you have 10+years of playing ahead of you and showing off special ability, I'm going to give a nod that he has a shot, like Arcia. I don't list Shaw due to his age. Santana due to his defense who is young enough to accrue counting stats in his career. After Arcia and Santana, Hader is the only one under 25. He's going to be an extreme longshot and you're talking as a RP HOF shot, not as a SP HOF shot because he's behind in the counting stats there.
  14. Another game not watched, another IGT thread where you'd think it was 8-0. As if, Carlos Martinez isn't on the #1 type of pitcher Nelson is thought of. The Cubs have been shut out in back to back games by a #5 and a Brandon Woodruff type of prospect in his 5th ever game. The Dodgers have now been shut out 3 games already this season. A #5, Cueto who's a #1, and Corbin today who's been a #4 the last 2 seasons at best. We're 4-2 and get to matchup up 4 games vs these poor hitting Cubs. Woodruff will get his 1st start to the season(his comp in prospect ranking already blanked the Cubs) Chacin for his numbers, has given up 3HRs on 4 total Flyballs given up in 9IP. 17GBs. He's going to have better starts and luck going forward. The Errors didn't help him. I'm so glad you can be absolutely right on the roster makeup of this team and it's SP after 2 guys with 1 start, and 2 guys now with 2 starts. Go apply for the GM spot in Milwaukee that's obviously not open.
  15. Dont forget on Yount County Stadium vs Miller Park. Yelich is a HOF future potential. So long as he plays long enough. Id expect a 1b move towards the end pf his career. The only other current player Id even breathe HoF is Orlando Arcia. And before the scoffs, realize he's young and elite defensively at SS. He has a long ways to go offensively, but if he turns himself above .300 hitter and puts up consistent 15-20HRs with the defense, he'll be posting numerous 5-6WAR seasons during that time. His body is still maturing, what if he approaches 25HRS a year? I see Arcia as a guy who plays til he's 37-39 with his defense carrying him. Thats a long time to accumulate the stats. Braun needs not only to play more than he has, but do so at a high level. He's fallen behind the curve. Playing 1b, what amount of WAR will he be accumulating? His offense may ding it down with 1b standards vs Corner OF standards. Darkhorse by far are Knebel/Hader. If they take on elite RP/closer as their career and accumulate Saves for a long time what 600? Is that the threshold? Where I say darkhorse is because their K/9 may stick above 11? 12? Something carried that long, I'd assume puts them on notice. Other than that the youth isnt there with long term potential to do something at their position to warrant thos kind of talk. The Grienke/Sabathia takes, I just dont attach to Milwaukee when HOF talk. They wont be going in as Brewers.
  16. Yelich is so good at this game. I swear he's the type that could hit 30HRs+ if he tried, but he puts the ball in play, gets on base over that statistic.
  17. Rally caps on. Holy Jeez. I haven't seen anything on the score, read through the thread, thought the game was 8 or 9-0...and yet it's 4-3? when I check? The whining here is pitiful!
  18. Nope. You could have a hitter weak against 95+ and another weak againt curve balls who pounds fastballs. Youd start the guy weak againt 95+ vs that 20%+ thrown curveball pitcher. Save the other player on bench for that high velocity RP late in a game. Lefty/righty matchups I know you said a lil against that type. But the manager is going to set a lineup that is advantageous to that matchup. Ive paid attention, and seen a Lefty dominate 6pitches 2lefty strikeouts. Next batter a righty, and suddenly wild, nibbling the plate at best. Give up a hit. Next bat a lefty, 4 pitch k. same for some righties vs leftys. Its psychological. Guy looks good, but then pitches not wanting anything to with the other side batter. CC im sure sees this and plays to it the occasions he can.
  19. I don't hate him. I've spoken on his side to overlook this because as shown many times, he was put out there by the media that he had failed the test, when it hadn't gone through the powers that be. That leak ruined him. What happened after is the fault to the leak. He's the only one to publicly be found innocent, because if innocent, those players aren't exposed that they were brought in to determine a ped failure. Can't find someone guilty in the people's eyes if they aren't known on a charge in the first place.
  20. Wow. 5:31 107-91 and score 4 pts rest of the way to be tied at 111 in the end. Real large FT advantage to Denver including a 3pt attempt in under 3secs left(how do you foul at that moment?) that were made to tie the game to go in to OT. It amazes me how pathetic the roster moves are, the signings, for so many years. Need to drop them all and start with an entire new group. Giving away these 12mil contract types to bench worthy players. Tony Snell? Those type of signings. 4/46mil for a guy who scores less than 10pts, less than 4 Rebs, Less then 2 Assists, less than 1 steal average per game. Playing games like this one his 33min line of 1-5FGs 1-4 3pt 0 Rebounds 2 assists 1 steal He limits the offense far more than whatever defensive positive he provides because it comes with very low numbers from that area of his game. 2+ steals avg or 7+ rebounds, or 2 blocks a game then you can say he's providing help defensively to offset his offensive hurt to the team. You read here so often how the offense is a stand still 1-1 and it's has so much to do with Snell making the offense play 4 on 5 with him on the court. Such trash and he's paid more and more the next 3 seasons. Henson, Delly, and Telotovic. Such a waste of money on these guys, and it's been that way now for so long.
  21. Votto is a great guess. Id add Adrian Beltre as another gotta be close Beltre actually only has a .340 career OBP Hmm, surprised so low. I remember for Fantasy he was listed as the 300/30/100 consistency for so many seasons. Nice AB by Thames! Followed with Yelich hit 5 of 1100 5year career with Milw?
  22. Has to be Trout and Votto Votto is a great guess. Id add Adrian Beltre as another gotta be close
  23. Is this a trick #5 being Vlad? Hader is electric. The two styles are crazy Suter to him. I hope he goes 2IP and scheduled towards 100 for the season because SP needs to be in consideration still
