  1. How's this for Optimism? 32-22 Still holding a 2.5game lead on the division. And the next 20games? All vs. under .500 teams. Cubs, Twins, Pirates, Mets, Reds, and DBacks. Realistic to say 13-7 record which then puts us at 45-29 nearing mid point on the season. What Khris Davis is doing at the plate really makes this offense exciting now. The HRs+doubles give us a lethal bat at the bottom of the order to either drive runs in (like just now) or to start an inning off either putting a run on the board or a runner in scoring position. The pitching is holding together honestly sans some RRR mismanagement. I have a lot of faith in our starters to continue putting up starts that keep us in the game and it's up to our potent offense to supply it with enough runs. This is a team that can go win 10 straight and I'm thinking it happens final 3games vs. Minnesota/3 game series vs. Pitts/ 3 game series vs. Mets and the first vs. Cincy ARam is nearing a return which will coincide with sparking that 10 game run!
  2. Yaaay! Crew! Series win! So glad for Gallardo to back up last night with a win tonight on the mound! 10 games over .500 and we're another day closer to ARam returning.
  3. It just can't come easy. How many more batters before its a save opportunity for KRod? 1 more or now if he went to him?
  4. You know the difference in his approach and this run likely started the moment he began taking a couple walks, forcing the pitchers to throw strikes in the zone...which are something Davis can hit.
  5. Yeeeeaaaaaahhhh!!!! Khrush!!!! I wanted to say, as I recall Matusz for a Starter, he liked to give up HRs....Way to Go huge!!!
  6. Davis doesn't have an XBH tonight so he's due! Need a baserunner to get him an AB.
  7. Nice but it's supposed to be thrown at Cruz...Davis has been a easy K machine this series for our pitching.
  8. Well his game log seems to make it look that way. but it's said how is he doing on inherited runners? 1ER in his last 8 appearances over 6 2/3 innings. 5 hits 1BB.
  9. Yeah my previous comment about the double switch figured Gallardo was done. This is playing out just like yesterday's game. Only so far Gallardo is getting the job done.
  10. Overbay likely batting to stay in the game here or a double switch again.
  11. Norris was visibly upset that he hit Gomez. He didn't bean him, he tried to run a FB over the inside corner & it ran too far inside. But that's just it, run a FB inside to Cruz to back him off his batting stance. If you bean him, so what? One way or the other you make him think about that pitch coming inside again. I'd follow up the FB inside a couple pitches later with a Curveball see if he flinches at that while it bends in for strike two or three.
  12. You would think the team would throw a bean ball to make Nelson Cruz uncomfortable in that box? Vs. a 1st pitch HR given up? Gomez gets pegged weekly by teams, this game an example.
  13. It amazes me how often the Crew rip a pitcher early has him in the 65+pitch range at 3innings. And then the guy manages to complete 6innings. Meanwhile our starter is at 35-40 pitches through 3 innings and struggles to reach 6IP when he's in the 90s in pitch count....I'm talking about Garza/Gallardo/Estrada namely. Edit: Norris at 50pitches through 2IP, 66 through 3, 79 through 4, 87 through 5. Meanwhile Gallardo: 32 through 2, 42 through 3, 71 through 4, 81 through 5. Just frustrating to watch our bullpen wind up getting used in the same inning as our opponents when our pitcher was 24 pitches ahead on count through 3 IP.
  14. chickin: 2 more seasons after this season. Year 1 of his 3 year extension.
  15. If both Holmes and Toussaint are gone when the Brewers pick leaving the leftovers of College Pitchers not chosen Beede/Freeland/Finnegan/ and Newcombe. Let's say at least two of the four. Does the team draft lower in the board then try to nab a HS kid with money saved at 41? If we did draft Chavis is the consensus that he'll get the money to the 12th slot? Or maybe 250k less than slot? Leaving the potential to nab a HS pitcher at 41 that wants mid first round money but was still around in the late 20s and is considering College then? Luis Ortiz/Kodi Medeiros come to mind. The thing about drafting Chavis, is if we do go after and sign Lara, Chavis removes himself as the 3b of the future in to 2b then? I just wonder if the Crew can pull that off a Chavis/Ortiz 1/2 pick. Though by the just above posts, it sounds like the team is targeting Holmes/Touissaint. There is one thing for sure that Toronto will be using that 11th pick on a College player since it's not protected. 100% positive its Nola or Beede whichever is still there. And you can more than likely take Aiken,Rodon,Kolek,Jackson,Gordon with the Toronto pick that's six for sure gone. The problem is Holmes/Touissaint are your next HS arms to choose from aside from all the College arms. I really feel they will be gone at our pick. This is all because of Hoffman+Feede's blown arms I think we miss the guy we want by 1selection. If the Brewer's targets are gone off their board what kind of creativity do you see signing an underslot with their first pick then over slots on the next two?
  16. you intentionally walk Gallardo here too no? Dangitt, GameCasted! Said Gallardo at the plate, KRod on deck...not Herrera.
  17. Getting close to DL eligible time... No need to get rid of him now when you can send him to the minors for 6 weeks I believe for a rehab assignment. It's not about getting rid of him. It's that pitching KRod on a 3rd straight day shouldn't be happening. This tie ballgame going to the 10th is when your longman(Wang) should be used. Even if it ends horribly. That is how the roster is made up and it needs to be used that way. With your bottom 5 in the order coming up I'd use Wang for 2ip *cough* and let the timing of the top of the order dictate using KRod next. Wang does have an AB this year, he has to in that 3IP outing previously.
  18. I feel the concern here too...but it's hard to tell. I just don't think he's healthy watching his swings. WOW!!!! Lucky break on the double clutch!!! Now let's go home winners! Right now Braun is an expensive decoy. His swings look so unnatural. If I'm Melvin I tell him that he needs to make a decision once and for all on the thumb. It's not fair to the Brewers to pay him all that money if he's going to play like this. My thoughts are watching Braun swing in Miami that you're right he is just a decoy. He's a body the team needs to use currently until ARam returns from the DL. I wouldn't be surprised if Braun then went on the DL when ARam returns. Lucroy bats 2nd, Gomez 3rd and ARam 4th still keeping a solid top of the lineup.
