  1. Special teams says hold my beer we'll remove that dagger
  2. Holy cow, Bahktiari beat Jones to the end zone on that omg. lol
  3. I don't even think that was that deep of punt, directly middle of the field. It's like the defense has only 3-4 guys even trying where the catch is to be made and the rest just kicking back with idea not to give up a TD.
  4. Hmm that TD given up by the defense? The Dime no rush package, exactly what I was referring to on a Hail Mary attempt.4th and 18 and give up a TD.
  5. Adams with a trifecta of plays of Wow. TD catch, long reception, and that TD stretch. Percentages on all 3 happening had to be less than 100% combined, he just went 3 for 3
  6. That's assuming after a TO and having 3 or 4 WRs lined up left or right clearly in a Hail Mary look that Pettine doesn't have his 3 man weak rush and dime package. You know where pressure doesn't happen. Difference in pressuring a stiff QB, Raven Greene was blitzed up the middle, Gary's sack was brought from middle linebacker position, Keke's sacks are from blitz up the middle. And of course credit for Gary continues to improve in these past 4 weeks.
  7. not sure why Philly doesn't call a TO with 1sec left to throw a hail mary? Maybe get a PI call and 3pts. But thanks for not trying.
  8. That simply is amazing, because Rodgers had to take his eyes off his progression to avoid that sack. Recovers, and manages in split second see Tonyan open over the top of what previously during the stumble was triple covered.
  9. Yes, but after that first snap, Patrick is looking better at LG. I'm just surprised they didn't keep Runyan there instead of shuffling everyone. You were saying? Patrick not looking good this drive a lot of whiffs/found no one to block.
  10. The O-Line movements of Patric to LG from RG and then whomever is on the RG/RT isn't looking good thus far. Patrick is getting beat. Get Runyan back to LG Patrick to RG Turner at RT? is that how it's been?
  11. Statcast bats with history would say: Nelson Cruz-DH to NL go get him DJ Lemahieu-Best bat available by a good margin-QO'd Marcell Ozuna-#2 bat behind George Springer has bat profile similar to above, but misses more often with swings and exit velo isn't elite-QO-d Cesar Hernandez-below average bat, above average defender JT Realmuto-Bat is just above MLB avg. As a catcher that's elite. -QO'd Tommy La Stella- Micro Lemahieu. Everything about bat is ML average except K% and has that contact percentage like Lemahieu. J-Profar- Lesser Tommy La Stella below avg ML batting profile except K% Maikel Franco-ML avg profile nearly all around, K% is only better than avg. Kolton Wong-avg to slightly below avg ML bat Michael Brantley-slightly above ML avg bat but elite expected BA due to elite K% Makes contact like Lemahieu Marcus Semien-avg to slightly below avg ML bat nothing really stands out but speed is top 20% Kevin Pillar-above avg expected BA, everything else is below ML avg. Eddie Rosario-Avg or below avg ML bat profile high chase pct Kyle Schwarber-Below avg ML bat except exit velo and slg. Carlos Santana-Above avg ML bat Elite BB% Slow bottom 20% speed So bat ahead a 3TO HR hitter? Renato Nunez-Slightly above or below avg ML bat-Nothing elite higher chase pct Asdrubal Cabrera-ML avg bat-slow Pretty big pile of pooh. Obviously Ozuna, Lemahieu, Springer will have big market takers. La Stella for a hard to get out or Nelson Cruz if the DH comes to NL. Guess I'd have to find better in non-tenders thread, but that'll be another day.
  12. Just going to say via Statcast, Dahl has a career BA 30pts over his expected BA. A batting profile that would be like Keon Broxton in that he swings alot more than the average MLB player but his contact % is lower by 5% than the average MLB player. There isn't anything in his bat profile that says he is a top 30% hitter for MLB. His K% is 26% and BB% is 6.5% both lower than average MLB player. Similar Batters to David Dahl: 2019 - Ramon Laureano 2019 - Danny Santana 2019 - JaCoby Jones 2019 - James McCann 2019 - Anthony Santander Think we should let another team take on a Coors Field inflated batter who doesn't provide Defense to outweigh the lower bat. DJ Lemahieu? before making an argument against him. Complete opposite. Is a top 10 expected BA. Swings 6% less in zone and 5% less chase while having 8% better zone contact and a freaky 14% better contact chasing. He has a better chase percentage contact than Dahl has for in the zone contact percentage. So Coors effect is not at play with Lemahieu's numbers.
  13. I think you are overlooking the fact that he'll be 35 in April and essentially hasn't played since the end of 2019 when he wasn't very good. It's a big stretch to think he returns close to his 2018 form. Sure he had a lot of minor aches and pains in 2019, but what guarantee is there that he won't incur those same kind of aches and pains at 35? Cain is one of many huge question marks on this team. Winning a GG means you're no good? At least when you are deserving. Let's check statcast: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/lorenzo-cain-456715?stats=statcast-r-hitting-mlb Seems his years in 2018 and 2019 were fairly identical. His expected batting average as you see is top 10 zone. Was he unlucky? I notice the one big decline was his speed. Should he have beat out more inf grounders? I do recall he had his share of nicks and bruises with that stellar OF Defense, that must have affected his speed down 1b line. 2020 off to a great statcast start. I don't get why more players arent looked at via this statcast site. If you're just not familiar with it, explore.
  14. Really frustrating to give up a quality player over 5 million, especially when we could have let him go and saved a good chuck of that if things didn't work out in spring training. If I had any faith we could spend that 5 million on a similar caliber hitter it would be different but seems like a year where we are getting bargain basement retreads again, at least with Corey you feel OK about him bouncing back and being a much better trade chip mid season when relievers are at a premium. Kinda why I didn't know you could drop an Arb paid player 30 or 45days and not be responsible for that years full contract. You would think tendering a contract and keeping players at least til that 30 day point to see how that player is doing. Keep as insurance while targeting a FA you may think only have a 1% chance of getting. So for example take Arcia. Say we somehow fell in to a contract deal for DJ Lemahieu, you would remove Arcia for just a cpl hundred thousand? Just doesn't seem right. But okay.
  15. There's no point in moving Cain. Your only looking at saving money. Team isnt going to take that money saved and apply it to another contract. Should expect a great season coming for him. Should easily be as healthy as he's ever been. What CF is out there that you want roaming CF in his place? Tyrone Taylor? A decent Batting Cain season with his defense makes him one of the best CF in the game.
  16. Thought about him, but sorta like Dahl I would wonder if he'd sign with a team that didn't present to him a clear starting role. Looking back at his profile he makes a ton of sense. He's actually not been a full season starter like I just assumed he had been. 375-425PAs should be easy for him to find here with ability to play all 3 OF positions.
  17. I don't think he's that bad. This is 2021. Lots of big strikeout guys. He posted impressive numbers at AAA in 2019. Brewers lack hitters in upper minors. Green has a chance assuming they sign a guy like Franco for just one year. So did Eric Sogard. 2019 the juiced minor league ball. Ruined a guy like Zach Brown and Corbin Burnes. Don't read to much in to that impressive power numbers.
  18. How can the Dodgers only pay Kneble "Hundreds of Thousands" to see if he'll fit in their bullpen or cut bait? Whatever they agree to pay during the Arbitration, LA is on the hook for. The only ways I know of where that doesn't apply are: Retires Suspension Another team takes him to pay him. This is a matter of LA wanted him and only guarantee to get him was by trade. Any other process beyond trade they were going to be second fiddle. Waiver claim? Last team to be able to. FA sign? Kneble's choice of offers. LA isn't paying to bring him in for a look. Kneble deserves a spot on the team. I'm telling ya, the PTBNL will happen when Kneble's salary for 2021 is decided in Arb. That or once both sides at least present the amounts for the Arbitrator to decide from. You know how a number of posters propose trade ideas via the trade value sites. Well What's Kneble's trade value between the numbers of 4.2million and 6.2million? (Who knows what Kneble will ask?)
  19. I do wonder what the plan will be for Garcia. Obviously, the salary is way higher than it would otherwise be if he was a free agent, but I do wonder if you could get a team to take him while retaining a chunk of what's left. Coming off nearly his worst batting season while being paid the most he's going to make in a season? I think what Milw would have to pay a team to take him is more than what Milw will spend on a FA this season. Maybe throw in Garret Mitchell and you only have to pay Garcia's Buyout then. Do all that and intend to sign Dahl who during this hypothetical fiasco, has now signed with a team already before Milw has even initiated talks. Dahl will be coveted. He sounds like a great Mets sign.
  20. It has been awhile since they went this route, but it wouldn't surprise me to see them grab a guy in the Rule 5 draft this year. I could see a pitcher, utility IF or 5th OF grabbed. Some of the names I like include OF Will Benson from the Indians, RP Will Kincanon from the White Sox, INF Kevin Maitan from the Angels, RHP Jose Alberto Rivera from the Astros, 3B Joe Rizzo from the Mariners, LHP Thomas Burrows from the Braves, UTL Kevin Kramer from the Pirates, and RHP Riley Pint from the Rockies. Lets bring together the dream team we mused about. Riley Pint and then trade for Seth Beer. But Whoa Pint has been bad. Beer though seems to K less than expected.
  21. As a Free Agent, David Dahl should want nothing to do with Milwaukee's OF and playing time. Trade away Garcia first and then you can even approach him to a contract.
  22. This will be an interesting Arb raise. We'll see what Milw tendered him and see what he's asking for. How does his stats for 60games get weighed and how does Arbitrator value in this current MLB financial state? How about the fact Hader in the typical service time would just barely be over 3 seasons. Like 3.007? Yeah he's getting full credit for a full season, but his stats ought to be weighed up to the approximate 3.007service timeline. Going off of that would typically mean a 1st time through Arb and not a 2nd.
  23. Pop and Ks. Full season in the majors, he looks like he'd challenge Chris Carter type of stats.
  24. It's estimated Kneble would have a 5.125M price tag. He's in Arbitration so they can offer to pay say 4.1Mil to him. Now Kneble would have to juggle a price point that he values himself that an Arbitrator would agree is his true value and not overvaluing himself. I think this is going to be the basis on what kind of return the Brewers get back.
