  1. Welcome back to the board, FTF. As a great example of how tiny Milwaukee/the internet really is, my band actually opened that Castle Comer show. Hope we didn't suck
  2. Diaz & Hiura are both 2B only guys. I'll take Keston, though there is a non zero chance Isan ends up the better player in the long run.
  3. I can believe he said it & I can believe people bought it before seeing the actual deal. That is the whole point of playing people's emotions for internet clicks.
  4. It would appear as though Dubon has more trade value to the Giants than Arcia.
  5. Over the past calendar year Yelich has hit 344/435/709 (191 wRC+) with 56 HR & 31 SB good for 10.6 WAR.
  6. Why not? I wanted all four players to succeed when they were Brewers & hope they all have productive Major League careers (as long as they aren't Cubs or Cardinals).
  7. Yelich put up 7.5 WAR last year & is on pace for another 10.5 WAR this year. Add even another conservative 22 WAR for the remaining three years & you're looking at somewhere in the neighborhood of 40 WAR as a starting point for Yelich & very likely more by the time he is done with his current contract. I'll take the under on Brinson/Harrison/Diaz/Yamamoto producing 40 WAR combined during their years of team control with the Marlins.
  8. No. Go away. Holy.... Is that why the site crashed again this morning?? 50% chance it was, 50% chance it wasn't.
  9. Haven't seen it mentioned yet so, Twin Peaks. First two seasons are on Netflix currently. The first season might be one of the greatest seasons of television ever. Second season gets a little uneven since Lynch kinda checked out for awhile after the network made him reveal the killer, but he came back at the end & closed things out perfectly to set things up for... Twin Peaks: The Return, which I hesitate to even call TV. It's more like an 18 hour film that was split into episodes out of necessity. Even though it's been almost two years since it aired, it still manages to work it's way into my head with regularity.
  10. The sheer stupidity (& selfishness) of the parents literally boggled my mind numerous times & just when you think they couldn't possibly be any dumber they go & do something even more idiotic.
  11. Really enjoying the new season of True Detective so far. McConaughey/Harrison set the bar pretty high in season one, but Ali/Dorff are really giving them a run for their money.
  12. ...but what if he is? Then we definitely were wise to trade Brinson, Harrison, Diaz & Yamamoto for him.
  13. Yelich 2013-17: 290/369/432 for a 122 wRC+ Pre-ASB 2018: 292/364/459 for a 122 wRC+ Post-ASB 2018: 367/449/790 for a 220 wRC+ One half of good old fashioned Christian Yelich plus another half of steroid Bonds added up to a final line of 326/402/598, good for a 166 wRC+. Given the Jekyll/Hyde nature of his 2018 season combined with a previous career high wRC+ of 134 then a dash of he's still only just 27 & I'd probably project him around a 140ish wRC+ for next year.
  14. This post made me curious obviously. Zoilo Versailles won the AL MVP in 1965 with a .273/.319/.462 slash line. Yuck and a half. Marty Marion won the NL award in 1944 with a .267/324/362 slash line. He must have been a HECK of a defender..... Nice digging, RoCo. Also, digging the Billy Jo Robidoux avatar.
  15. Baez currently has a .328 OBP. Pretty sure that would tie Andre Dawson for the lowest OBP ever by an MVP were Javy to win. The electorate has evolved a lot since 1987. I hope.
  16. This article is a couple weeks old now, but does offer some insight on what Christian Yelich has changed... https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/what-christian-yelich-has-changed/
  17. JP Morosi on MLB Network just now... "Christian Yelich right now is the NL MVP front runner."
  18. Thanks again to whoever keeps bumping these older threads. Greatest Hits (for the cycle)... Well, that's the problem. He's not a special player. Terrible deal. This will end up being reason #1 why everyone will want Stearns gone in a couple years. Just awful. Too much, hate this deal. Really hate it. Ugh
  19. Hiura was ranked 24th by FanGraphs, 32nd by BPro, 47th by BA & 56th by MLB heading into the season. Diaz was ranked 85th by BPro, 87th by FanGraphs & didn't make the preseason top 100 for BA or MLB. Pretty big difference in value between a consensus top 25-50 guy & a borderline top 100.
  20. Still have plenty of faith in Brinson to figure it out. He has hit at every level & has plenty of athleticism to make whatever adjustments are needed. He is already cutting down the Ks as the season progresses; 35.2 K% in April, 29.6 K% in May, 25.4 K% in June.
  21. Mentioned this in the trade thread but Yelich is bottom 5 among all OF in arm rating by both DRS & UZR since his debut in 2013. He has never played an inning in RF in either the minors or majors. I do not believe he is an option in RF. If we do end up rolling with a primary OF of Braun/Yelich/Santana, I'd imagine that projects as one of the worst defensive OFs in MLB.
  22. Yelich is 24th in MLB in Offensive value (+80) since he became a full time regular in 2014 per fangraphs. 29th in PAs (2539), 42nd in wRC+ (121, tied with Machado) & 20th in baserunning (+15).
  23. I'm waiting until Russell Branyan and/or Ben Sheets will be there. Would love for Russ to hit a moonshot off of me & would get a real kick out of striking out Sheeter, assuming he wasn't too afraid to get in the box of course.
