  1. That is incredible. It does seem like there is a thriving soccer subculture, at least. As I go to teach, I see more soccer jerseys than ever, so interest is there! Excited for Group H games tomorrow. I am fascinated by the Poland, Japan, Senegal, Colombia grouping.
  2. Cain leaving for Braun because of injury was what forced Sogard in, I think. Braun is getting that AB at some point. Villar had already been used, and then the double-switch for Miller. Tough to blame CC on Sogard IMO.
  3. Silver lining is the Cardinals have used their best two BP options on back-to-back days. Get to Weaver early tomorrow, boys. 3 of 4 would be awesome, but we head into the off day in 1st no matter what!
  4. It isn't just the runner with bean balls. It is the fights, ejections, ans suspensions. I would have liked to have seen a warning for Mikolas, but carry on. Score runs.
  5. Bean ball wars are stupid. Win the game. Chase needs to find his command.
  6. Umm....the World Cup is amazing. So much drama. Germany looks beat and out and then steals a goal on an excellent free kick at the very death. I know you can't sell this sport to the average fan without the US being good, but this is NCAA Tournament on steroids every 4 years. Love the storylines and emotion. Cannot wait to hear what the Men in Blazers say in the next pod. Those guys just kill it every time.
  7. Why? He stretched, which typically means he was cramping. Doubt it's serious, he's standing on the rail. Broadcast says cramp, so good call and good news.
  8. Excellent start to the World Cup. Lots of goals and thrilling draws. The Iceland performance was just spectacular. Hope to see more!
  9. Big time work from Chacin. Put up a couple, offense! Watching Chacin pitch, he does seem to work best at the edges. It also seems like he throws more pitches that start out of the zone and never really get close than most pitchers.
  10. Chacin starting to nibble at a bad time. Could use a ground ball at somebody from LaStella.
  11. Domingo struggles with situational hitting like very few players I have seen. Nice to be on the board early at least.
  12. Could have been a real bad road trip, so I will take 3-5. There is a lot to be said for your bad stretches being 3-5 instead of 1-7. Take 2 of 3 against the Cubs, and it's all good. If they can beat Q tomorrow, I might even get greedy.
  13. Sure seems like part of the problem is pitch selection. Arcia is behind 0-2 and 1-2 more than just about any hitter I've seen, and a good bit of that is chasing pitches in the dirt or well off the plate. Honestly, he looks jumpy to me this year, like he is up there just guessing. I hope the few recent hits will help his confidence at least. I am certainly not ready to give up on him at 23.
  14. Thanks. I wondered if maybe they were moving in the direction of putting the FOX teams on ESPN + with the recent merger but sounds like it isn't there yet.
  15. I seem to remember this happening with Nyjer Morgan at the plate. Maybe against Washington or Chicago? Plush was pretty livid. ..
  16. Wondering if anyone has tried the ESPN + app. I am considering it, but I can't seem to find how many MLB games are carried on a given night. Anyone had a chance to check it out? How many Brewer games have you seen there? I would be interested in hearing whether or not you think it is worth it.
  17. According to a Jeff Sullivan piece published today, the Brewers have so far dealt with one of the most unfriendly strike zones in all of baseball. Framing and pitchers who love to work on the edge probably has something to do with that from a pitching perspective, but you would think the hitting numbers would even out. Hope that is the case!
  18. This is good news, and the Brewers performed well while he was away. Adding a good lefty bat will help. Hope he is ready in time for the Cubs series. Sounds like he should be...
  19. Sullivan has a FG post today about HRs being down relative to last year, so that may explain part of Domingo's power slump. Of course, he is on pace to hit 9 homers, so something else is up too, as he should be a guy who gets to 20 more often than not. He and Braun are a big reason why the offense has struggled. You need to get 3rd OF production from those two combined, and right now they look more like 4th OF types. Hope that changes as temps rise, but we will see...
  20. The Marlins did beat the Cards, though. Second day in a row. Bad teams beat good ones a lot. Right now, the Brewers have the best record on the NL. Not bad with an even 100 left. I think 54 wins gets them in the playoffs. 58 gives them the division. Starts tomorriw!
  21. Agree with this. Maybe seeing the ball fly out of CS will help Santana, and maybe Braun gets it going. Edit: that was a pretty horrendous AB from Aguilar. Yikes.
  22. Welp. There goes that. The midges is Cleveland look horrible. Yuck.
  23. 7th has been a good for the Brewers this year. Hope it is today too... Good start Kratz. Maybe Sogard can walk.
  24. Is OF set? Two-thirds of the way, I think. Of course, we have very little realistic chance to move Braun or Santana at this point, and they wouldn't bring a lot back. The downside of depth is that sometimes all your 1-2 WAR players look more like 1 WAR players all at once.
