  1. I think Bandy is out, but I don't really see a clear look...
  2. Whoa! Suter! I have to admit, I think he will be best served as a long man eventually, but he sure is fun to watch. Seems like he is always getting after it and generally loving being a big-leaguer.
  3. This game feels like it should be 5-3 or something. Godley's pitch count is climbing, but with the Dbacks pen, that may not be a great thing. Hopefully they time up a curveball or three third time through.
  4. Yes. At least Godley has to stand out in the sun, haha. Good job from Suter to get out of it.
  5. Saladino looked like a career utility man for the first time as a Brewer with that AB. One is better than none, I suppose.
  6. Suter just went 5 2/3 with 1 ER his last time out. I'm sure Woodruff would probably get the call if Suter is knocked around early, but I doubt that a straight piggyback is part of the plan. Makes sense. Just seems like the team is very aggressive about SP the third time through the order. Depending on how confident they are in Woody, today seems like an opportunity to really go all out on that strategy, especially with Albers, Knebel, and Hader probably down. Maybe Woody just becomes the first option out of the pen, as you say.
  7. Nothing like Perez leading off to push the IGT to a second page before first pitch! Thinking today might be a Suter/Woodruff tandem day? Wouldn't be surprised to see 3-5 max from Suter, then try to get 2-3 from Woody.
  8. Did they change the start time? I could have sworn it was 1210. I actually don't mind our 2-7, and hey red hot Brent Suter gets to swing it again. Perez has to play somewhere, I guess. I think I would hit JV leadoff too, but maybe they want Hernan up with the bases empty, haha. No Lamb today for the DBacks, so maybe it evens out. I don't feel all that optimistic against a guy who really seemed to shut us down last year, but it's about time we swept someone other than the dregs of the NL. How great would it be to go 5-1 against the Dbacks? Go Crew!
  9. Sullivan is my favorite too, and he is going to be writing about the Brewers a lot if they keep playing like this!
  10. I asked a Q about projection systems and the Brewers during Jeff Sullivan's last Fangraphs chat. Basically, he talked about how it is really hard to quantify depth and how much value it provides. I think this is why projection systems undervalued the Brewers last year and (hopefully will) continue to do so this year.
  11. Davies listed as probable starter for Thursday. Guessing Woody goes down, as the Crew seems to really want a lefty in the rotation. Suter has been serviceable so far, so hopefully he keeps it up tomorrow!
  12. 1st inning for Anderson: 26 pitches, 1 hit, 2BB, 1 HBP. Next 3: 30 pitches. No baserunners.
  13. Lots of Ks for Yelich lately. Is his launch angle up? I've been wondering if he has been trying to elevate the ball a bit more.
  14. Wow. Only 1 run is a big victory there. Lot of pitches, but the game could feel over after that inning. I have a weird feeling this one will end up like 7-5.
  15. Velo is looking good for Chase, but he does look like a guy who hasn't pitched in a while early. Hope he settles in or the offense may need to go real big.
  16. Would have preferred Albers, but tough spot with limited BP options. Can't complain about a 7-3 road trip.
  17. Win or lose, great job by Jennings to get 6 outs after a short start from Junior. Hopefully Williams is good and we can scratch a couple to win and rest the BP a bit.
  18. I thought the srike zone the last two nights was pretty good. Joe West's, on the other hand, is not good.
  19. Figured Cain would get the day off, but it's Santana instead. Otherwise, not shocked to see Bandy, Saladino, and Perez all starting. Kind of house money game today, but I hope the Crew gets greedy. Be nice to see some length from Guerra with Hader and JJ probably unavailable.
  20. It's a good-looking lineup, especiallly if Villar, Pina, and Arcia are bringing some pop to the 7-9 spots. The Twins are tossing Gibson, Romero, and Odorizzi, I think, all of whom have been good lately. Gibson was a mess last year but looks much better. Plus, he still held the Brewers in check during that awful 4-game sweep. Romero is their version of Peralta. No. 2 org. prospect, only 1 run allowed in three starts. That he is matching up with Freddy Saturday is interesting and fun. FIP thinks Odorizzi is overrated, but he has been better since a rough start. I'd say all three of these games are basically coin flips, though I'd give MN the edge tonight. I think a low-scoring series is most likely, but maybe the offense has found its groove.
  21. I think it will (and probably should) be Choi. I still really like Phillips, but he has to get regular ABs. I don't think yo-yo-ing him for sporadic appearances is worth it. Now, if they commit to starting him all three at Target field, maybe, but then I'd rather he be the one exchanged for Choi on Monday. With Cain, Yelich, and Santana, I think it is going to be tough to find many starts for Phillips, whereas Choi can plug in at 1B a lot, and Perez can handle an OF spot if necessary.
  22. The problem to me is the hitting 3rd part. Ryan Braun in the 6 spot is just fine and useful. Certaunly an inefficient use of money, but that is going to be the case no matter where he is for the next three seasons.
  23. Davies threw bullpen yesterday. Any word on how it went? Guessing he will need a rehab start at this point.
  24. I would think it's between Phillips and Choi. My gut says they go with Choi and use Perez as a 4th outfielder. Braun's time at 1st feels more important than his time in the OF from a depth standpoint.
  25. It's weird to me that this is a thread. Sophia is fine and does Spabish interviews without a translator. No one around the league has a stellar sideline reporter. No offense to the OP, but I don't get it.
