  1. It would be really cool if this guy stopped getting that strike called 4 inches off the plate.
  2. Well, that's a start. 2 more base runners needed before things get interesting...
  3. What's the deal with Kintzler's glove? Anything?
  4. Oh my goodness, how is this game not 10-2? I feel like if Rizzo saw that pitch 10 times...he'd hit a HR 8 times.
  5. He probably will be. At the time of callup, Chicago's SP were not announced yet. I personally did not think Hamels would be ready to make a starts, and the backup plan was probably Alec Mills who is RH. I also believe Darvish is Sunday...so he would have had 2 starts this weekend. There's a decent chance he starts tomorrow though...
  6. I can live with that AB by Pina. Run in, GIDP no longer in play for Arcia, and closing in on the top of the order...
  7. Yup, those were massive...massive AB's. Now the pen has to cover 2 innings...and whoever comes in is coming in to a dirty inning.
  8. I can imagine it. It's called the year 2020. I think 3b will be ok. Often guys have down years and then really buckle down the following offseason. So maybe Shaw gets it in gear for 2020. Catcher is a bit of a different story, but we'll have some $ available to sign someone. Fair point though...
  9. Also, imagine a world where we didn't bring back Moustakas and were stuck with Shaw starting everyday at 3b? Or imagine we don't bring in Grandal, and Pina is mediocre/gets hurt and we are rolling with Nottingham everyday?
  10. Oh do i, he was so arrogant about it...his confidence gave the impression he was anticipating Kimbrel money. Jeffress will probably be a $1-5 million reliever signed on a year to year basis...depending how good he was the previous season...for the rest of his career.
  11. Releasing Miley ... yuck! Trading Santana for a backup ... yuck! Not making a move to cover for Knebel and Jeffress due to injuries at the start of the season ... yuck! Did he do all he could to retain our pitching coach from last season? 1. The Brewers don't have unlimited money, hindsight is 20/20 2. Santana has 0.9 WAR as a full time player this year while Gamel as a backup has 0.4 WAR. Also that pitching prospect we received has had a very solid season. 3. The Brewers don't have unlimited money. It's really easy to sit on your computer and say "why don't we have 7 Josh Haders, 5 Max Scherzers, and 9 Christian Yelich's".....
  12. It would be huge if Braun could reach to lead off the inning. That might convince Maddon to go to the bullpen at some point in the 7th...and make them cover 1+ innings before Kimbrel. Heck even if we lose, he'd probably use about 4 pitchers over that 1+ innings.
  13. If you sent every guy down after a couple bad outings, you wouldn't have anyone left in the bullpen.....
  14. A friendly reminder, we beat up the Cubs bullpen pretty badly last time we faced them...
  15. Doubt it, considering Heyward led off with a HR.
  16. Doesn't he have multiple no-no's or perfect games? Or some combination... He's hung around this long for a reason, and he was acquired by a contending team for a reason...
  17. Call me greedy all you want, I'd take the money without a 2nd thought. And that's knowing I would probably only see 50-60% of it by the time the government got their hands on it.
  18. Annoying that his very first pitch to the next batter is literally the exact same pitch...fortunately wasn't punished this time.
