  1. Thanks for posting the graphic. I think it's going to be very tough to navigate unless at least 2 of those guys have solid outings and can pitch 2+ innings. I would think normally the best optiosn for that would be Hader/Peralta...but both had big outings 2 days ago. It will be interesting to see how CC tries to navigate this one.
  2. I'm a bit surprised, it certainly is possible they think so highly of him...that they want to limit his service time and call him up in late May next year? That's probably not the case, but who knows. I'm a bit surprised it's a night game today. I expected a noon game. It doesn't really matter for us as tomorrow is an off day, just a bit surprised. Has anyone heard a report from CC if Hader will be available today? 28 pitches on Monday, I think he'd probably be available today unless they specifically want to give him a long rest.
  3. So you literally think there is not any logic to him going to a new school after being accused of raping two students at the one he's currently at because "he knows the offense," and "these are his teammates?" That seems really naive. Knowing the offense is the most illegitimate point I've heard. It's almost laughable. I'd imagine he feels a bit betrayed by the school. And I guarantee you there are a lot of people who believe he's still guilty. Maybe he'll be back, I hope he will. I'm just struggling to understand how someone can think it makes absolutely no sense for him to get a fresh start at another school. I can't imagine a scenario where he'd want to be in this state. If I was him, I'd be long gone. I see he's applying for reinstatement, but it sounds like a necessary step to clean his record...and he'll transfer shortly after.
  4. It's one thing to lay out the facts, but those women can very easily pick and choose what to tell their parents or whomever to significantly influence what happens. Either they fabricated quite a bit when they initially told their parents, or their parents just didn't care and were super upset...and manipulated the facts themselves. So the blame is definitely in that arena somewhere. I don't think it's OK to throw out such manipulated accusations and smear this kid in such a way. This kid had his name publicly smeared, had to spend certainly big dollars defending himself, and wasted a significant chunk of his best years because some girls or their parents got upset about a bad decision the girls made. So at the end of the day, the girls/parents to some degree...win. They inflicted damage on this kid and got their revenge.
  5. I completely agree with everything here, but it doesn't make this use of my tax dollars any less annoying/ridiculous. That they have to go the most expensive possible route basically just to appease people, while wasting a signficant chunk of this kids best years.
  6. I have to believe shaw was told to do that. There's no reason for it otherwise. Really shows a lack of faith in players that you try cheesing a run in that spot.
  7. I was looking at statcast data of Brewers against Brault. All of Grandal, Braun, Moose, and Cain should all have very good numbers against Brault(cain/braun especially)...but have mostly been unlucky. Yelich on the other hand, has actually been lucky. I don't think Hiura has faced Brault, Grisham obviously hasn't. Pina and Arcia have been mediocre at best. So 4 good, 2 bad, 2 unknowns(probably good) and Brault may not be super sharp as he's coming off a long absence.
  8. Maybe he's worried Hurdle will do his best Larussa impression and bean him twice today...you know how they did it back in the good ol days......
  9. It really does suck for all involved, except I would put the vast majority of the blame on the girls/girls parents here. If I'm reading this right, it took the jury all of 30 minutes to find him not guilty. There couldn't have been many in that room thinking there was any chance at all he was guilty or I imagine it takes even longer. The more I read online, the more ridiculous the allegations seem.
  10. Didn't we post 5 runs on the starter yesterday? I think that qualifies as getting shelled. I'm expecting a similar result today.
  11. What a weird lineup. Below is official. Not the lineup I would have picked, but hopefully it works out. Cain Hiura Moose Braun RF Grandal 1B Pina Grisham LF Arcia
  12. If Bellinger falls back 30-50 points in OPS while yelich maintains, that might do it also. It's truly a 2 horse race in my opinion. The triple crown actually appears somewhat attainable. He's only ahead in HR, but he's only 1 point behind in average and 5 rbi at the moment. A strong finish could get him there.
  13. Would first ever 50/30 club lock him in for MVP? I feel like it would have to, but Bellinger is also having a crazy good season and is better defensively.
  14. The decision would more likely be Shaw out than Gamel I would think? Moose and Hiura play just about every day, Shaw is going to scrounge a couple starts a week mostly at 1b...those 2 guys sit maybe once a week combined? So really you look at both guys and ask which is better in PH duty...as that is the primary role for both guys right now. I think Gamel right now is the better producer at the plate, and then factoring in the clutch factor...it's a no brainer for me. Send Shaw down and bring him back in September.
  15. Brault's slider is very meh, he's a very fastball-heavy pitcher. So it would actually make some sense to try Grisham today. We'll see though, hard to see Braun or Cain sitting...so unless Braun is ready for 1b, it isn't happening.
  16. This is the Brewers 4th time facing Brault in a very short span. 6/9, 6/30, and 7/5. Lots of high exit velocities against this guy the last few times as well. He's also rejoining the rotation after missing a month. All signs in my opinion lead to us shelling this guy. Cain Yelich Braun Hiura Moose Grandal 1B Pina Arcia
  17. I think it might take another injury, ideally to the rotation. That or regression finally happens for their rotation and these extremely mediocre pitchers stop pitching way over their heads.
  18. I would have liked to take a chance on him, especially given our current SP situation. I assume Reds were higher on the pecking order than us though...
  19. I completely agree on this item here and it's an excellent point. Even threatening to take them to small claims court will probably be enough to get them to just push through your cancellation. Them sending a lawyer to small claims court is probably almost as expensive or possibly even more expensive than your claim. And I'm sure they have bigger fish to fry anyways.
  20. I hope he hits 2 dingers today and this comment looks terrible at 8 pm...I'm sure you do as well
  21. Also see link below, hopefully it works. Filter down to see atbats against this specific pitcher. I feel like it's a friggin miracle that this guy threw 6 innings of 2 run ball against us. My guess is this dude gets absolutely shelled today. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/gamefeed?game_pk=566221&game_date=2019-7-6
  22. I can't believe it, CC finally figured out how to stagger RH and LH hitters in the lineup. Or maybe he just drew names out of a hat and it happened to work out that way? Not sure, but I like the lineup.
  23. I turn on the tv to kemp flubbing a routine GIDP...let's keep that going cubbies!
