  1. Even if they decide to rest Yelich, Grandal, Moustakas, and Hiura to make sure they are ready for the Cubs series? All those guys will already have Thursday off. I don't see the need to give them today off as well unless they were specifically hurting. This could mean hiura of course, but we'll see. I'm with willie, I think Brewers blow one open today. I think we win and Josh Hader doesn't have to pitch.
  2. Devin Williams, for immediate relief help.
  3. I disagree with this. Having a low payroll can be a stealth advantage because you aren't able to hand out mega contracts (which more often than not turn out badly)...and force you to play said player even if he's bad With our limited payroll we have won the 7th most games in MLB since 2017. Plenty of teams that have spent more than us have won less, no team that spent less than us has won more in that time. Added a little tid bit to help drive home your already very good point.
  4. With the increased competitiveness of the NL this year what you wanted was a pipe dream. The odds of the Brewers cruising to the division title & not having to fight it out for 162 games (& maybe even more) were always extremely low. We are currently 1/2 game out of the Wild Card & 2 games out of the division with 2 months to go. Sounds like the perfect time to throw in the towel, or maybe this was just the most likely outcome all along so why stop fighting now? Maybe adding a couple significant pieces is enough to put us further ahead of the other middle of the road teams and separate from the herd over the next 2 months?
  5. This seems like a great way to add $3 per ticket to the cost of attending a game. I'll admit the TSA precheck thing isn't a bad idea, but might be tough to enforce. Would be a nice perk for SSH. This seems like a great way to add $6 per ticket to the cost of attending a game...and is frankly just a silly suggestion. Stop acting like this is some ridiculous inconvenience. It's a mild inconvience at most, and much preferred to the alternatives you've suggested that would certainly increase the cost of attending games. And again...everybody continues to gloss over the improved security portion of reasoning for this policy
  6. Reminder that Roark has severe splits, probably some of the most severe starter splits you'll see. 600 OPS vs RH, almost 1000 vs LH. Grandal Yelich Braun Moose Hiura Thames Gamel Arcia/Salami man P
  7. Regardless whose "fault" it is, the majority of the burden to find a good solution is on the business. The Brewers have spent millions on improvements and infrastructure to more effectively take more money from the fans, but have spent next to nothing on improving this aspect of the fan experience... then have the audacity to ask the the customers to fix the problem. The clubs realize that game length is a problem, but are unwilling to reduce the amount of downtime between innings and are slow to reduce the amount of mid-inning pitching changes. But are fine asking fans to come 20 minutes early to stand in line? I don't see how either of your reaches have anything to do with each other. The concessions upgrades are very nice and make the whole experience in the concourse so much better than before the upgrade. And how does game length and the integrity of the game correlate in any way to fans standing in line 20 minutes before a game? And yes, if you want to get in to a game on time that 35,000 people are trying to attend...don't arrive 5 minutes before it starts and expect everything to work out. Arrive 20 minutes early and you'll probably be fine...and frankly Miller Park is way better than every experience I've ever had at Lambeau as far as entry to the stadium. And too many people are glossing over how this improves security inside the ballpark. That's nearly as significant as the time saved.
  8. They do, but I've found it minimally effective. They push the ballpark app so hard that I suspect in most cases, 1 guy has the tickets on his phone for his entire group. Well that group probably has at least 1 person with a purse/bag...so they can't exactly leave that person in the bag line and the other 3 go through the express lane. With a paper ticket you could do that, but most probably wouldn't. Do you think any guy is going to leave their wife/girlfriend in line while they go through the express lane and waltz on in?
  9. For starters, you probably can fit all of that in an acceptable tote bag. Also, a reminder that even the new Brewers bag policy is far and away more liberal than any other sporting event in Wisconsin. As far as I'm aware, you can't even bring sealed water in to a Bucks or Packers game. https://www.packers.com/lambeau-field/carry-in-policy https://www.nba.com/bucks/security-screening I'll also add, the reason the Brewers have had issues getting fans into games is 100000% the fault of the fans. It's not even debatable. It certainly isn't 100% due to large/multi-compartment bags...but that definitely is a contributing factor. Other factors include a significant portion of fans arriving at the gate 5 minutes before 1st pitch, drunk buffoons, people being generally putzy and not paying attention, people chatting with the security people, etc. The Brewers for months have made announcements urging fans to arrive to the gate early...nobody listens. The other 3 aren't really something they can do anything about. Eliminating maybe up to 10,000 tote bags and purses from the line that probably take 20-30 seconds each to inspect adds up...and makes the park safer.
  10. The Giants have won 10 of 12, I tend to agree it would be completely crazy for them to sell. Especially with the Bochy/MadBum last year storylines fueling them.
  11. That deal really is fairly reasonable, but I tend to feel like no team is going to appropriately value Grisham. I almost want to let him rake a bit longer in hitter friendly AAA and trade him when his value is more established. He notably lists Grisham behind Dubon, but I'm not so sure about that anymore. If we could swap Grisham for Ray, I think I'd be ok with this trade. It's a lot to give up, but you have to give up something to get something.
  12. I feel like too many people don't realize that we are playing a team of other professional players. Sometimes they'll make good plays, you can't win 10-0 every game. And that doesn't make the team terrible, it's just how baseball works.
  13. It will probably impact women more than men...but it's not accurate to say it is unfair to women. The new policy applies to men and women equally. Men generally don't purchase and carry purses, so........ There's clearly a difference between something negatively impacting women more and something being unfair. It's not like their goal was simply to target and discriminate against women...which you seem to imply. There are real and justifiable reasons to enact this policy.
  14. As much as that loss yesterday was a kick in the nuts, it was 1 game and fortunately the Cubs lost as well. It was a tough one but it happens. Jeffress has been far more good than bad. Keep in mind, he's facing very good mlb hitters that will sometimes simply win the battle. Can't expect him to be perfect.

  16. I generally don't like the idea of making a younger player act as 4th OF and get inconsistent playing time. Generally an established vet handles that type of role better. I've heard that Gamel is by far the hardest working player in the clubhouse. It takes a high level of professionalism to keep yourself ready and prepared for inconsistent playing time...and young players are far less likely to be ready for that. My guess is Grisham waits around for an injury or gets traded for value, but hard to know how much a team will value a guy that's been mediocre for years but has been a monster for 2-3 months. I'd like to think scouting would give them the answer. Also we are getting to a point where this might just be who he is...hard for a subpar hitter to simply stay hot for over half a season like this...especially increasing levels. The AA/AAA filler types may get hot for a few weeks and hit sorta like Grisham currently, but then cool off and hit sub 200 for extended stretches.
  17. The Brewers don't have enough decent prospects to even think about Story w/o completely emptying the system. I think a starting point for story maybe could be peralta or burnes. The Rockies aren't in a tear down, so an mlb arm with a ton of team control is very valuable to them. Peralta specifically has been very good at coors field. I also see Rodgers in place behind story, which is part of why i could see them looking to move him for the right haul.
  18. I'd try to get Scott Oberg myself. I can understand that, he's also under more team control and would cost significantly more in prospects. Im guessing the price tag would be prohibitively expensive.
  19. I don't envy the umps on this one. Maybe arcia pushed him off the bag? I dunno, i wouldn't care for that if i was a reds fan
  20. Bellinger was a career .263 hitter before this year, obviously young but I don’t see him keeping pace. I bet he finishes around .311 and Yelich around .338 Bellinger is indisputably the better defender. Not sure that factors in with casual fans, but it should matter. Would be fun for yelich to get an mvp.
  21. Is it just me or could someone drive a truck through the strike zone? Ive noticed it mostly benefiting the brewers...
