  1. Sad that the Brewers were losing in all of the highlights except the last one.
  2. We had 37-year old Damian Miller and to a lesser extent Mike Rivera and JD Closser. In theory, Estrada would have been a much better hitter in Milwaukee than he was. Rivera had .755 OPS with Milwaukee over five seasons and 380 PA.
  3. At the right price, hopefully. Goldschmidt’s OPS+ has gone from 177 to 120 to 98. It seems like a trend that is less likely to reverse at age 37 unless there was something physically wrong that will heal in the offseason.
  4. November 25, 2006 Brewers receive: Johnny Estrada, Claudio Vargas and Greg Aquino Diamondbacks receive: Doug Davis, Dana Eveland and Dave Krynzel ### Davis went on to have three productive seasons in Arizona. Eveland had an 11 year career, with six seasons below replacement level. Krynzel was the first top draft pick I cared about since becoming a Brewers fan. He never had an AB in Arizona. Estrada was -1.1 WAR in 442 AB with Milwaukee. We traded him for Guillermo Mota one year later. Vargas had 11-6 record with 5.09 ERA over 134.1 IP in 2007 for Milwaukee. He ended up being much better for us out of bullpen in 2009 after stints with Mets and Dodgers. Aquino had 14 IP with Milwaukee. Spent most of the year in Nashville. Conclusion: I don’t recall all the back story of this trade but it seems like a disappointing return for Doug Davis who did become modestly more expensive in 2007.
  5. Doesn’t it seem like we’ve targeted Profar for a decade?
  6. Reds seem to get the better of this trade, unless Wiemer becomes above replacement level in the big leagues.
  7. Ethan Small is a free agent after 13 minor league innings with the Giants.
  8. I appreciate the one 4th place. vote for Adames.
  9. He’s averaged 4 WAR per season over the past three seasons 🤷‍♂️
  10. I like it but do we need to extend anyone at this point? I'm not sure we want Turang into his 30’s.
  11. Which division rival do we anticipate will be most improved in 2025?
  12. I imagine Contreras requires more than $140 million. Not sure I want Soto for 15 years, either. Impressive we can sign Soto and cut costs, though 🙂
  13. Every time someone says so and so is not a “needle mover “we all have to take a drink
  14. I like when we experience existential crises after we acquire middle relievers or organizational depth
  15. There are a lot of rumors suggesting Bohm may be traded. Devin has 1.83 ERA over 235 IP, which is among the best relievers in recent memory. The Phillies’ bullpen was underwhelming in the regular season and terrible in the playoffs. A trade might make sense if 2025 is an important year for Philadelphia.
  16. So, to clarify, post about trade rumors wouldn’t disappear they simply would be in the major league forum. I assume not everyone checks both forums regularly.
  17. Rhys objectively is without value or wins above replacement for now and Cortes is a very useful starting pitcher. Not sure Yankees go for it.
  18. Do we need or want Dejong for three years?
  19. Will they regularly sell out the minor league stadiums?
  20. We probably wouldn’t have beaten LAD but strangely the Dodgers weren’t THAT much better than Milwaukee in 2024. The Brewers had their bite at the apple again this year. It just didn’t work out. I much prefer great teams than equal mediocrity in other sports.
  21. I think we bought low on Rea, experienced better than expected results and probably are exiting at the right time.
  22. This kind of feels like the Tyrone Taylor, Adrian Houser trade, except in exchange for nothing. We didn’t really miss out on Taylor or Houser last year.
  23. It is entirely possible Colin Rea is below replacement level player in 2025. In which case, we wouldn’t want to pay him 5.5 million..
  24. I can’t imagine Rhys Hoskins feeling bad about exercising his contractual player option to maximize his benefit. Nor should Milwaukee feel bad about declining their contractual option on Williams.
