    The NFL is boring and trending downward. I appreciate they are still massively popular, though. Los Angeles and Anaheim are more desirable television markets than Milwaukee and Wauwatosa. I would wager there are many more Dodger fans in the world than Brewers, Pirates, Royals, Twins, Rays and Marlins fans combined. We are a small minority. I assume there will be reforms after next CBA. A league with 30 equally mediocre teams is not the way, though.

    Tyler Black batted 2nd, 3rd or cleanup for 66% of his plate appearances last year in Milwaukee. He was the #9 hitter for only one plate appearance. Pat Murphy has a strange way of demonstrating a lack of confidence in Tyler Black.

    It would be like buying a house for $2 billion and then have it suddenly be worth $500 million less. I get the Dodgers are now worth $5 billion but diminishing your own profits by hundreds of millions is tough.

    Unrelated note: 42-year old Nori Aoki was teammates with Santana last year. Aoki got 129 PA to a tune of .558 OPS. New Brewer, Elvin Rodriguez, was also teammates with Santana last year, too. Small world.

    If any of Capra, Dunn or Durbin end up with meaningfully above replacement level production at 3B this year, is Milwaukee brilliant, lucky or cheap? We do such a good job turning unknowns into solid pitchers. I’m trying to think of the last time we did the same with a position player.

    That question works both ways. We don’t know if the Brewers profitability is below or above what the Brewers ownership group wants or expects. 60% of the Brewers are owned by not Mark A.

    I think the Dodgers get over $300 million per year in television revenue. I’m sure the Dodgers ownership are smart people. If they purchased the franchise at a specific price expecting $ X dollars of profit per year and there is a proposal to diminish their profit by a meaningful percentage, they would understandably say no.

    In fairness, Cubs fans probably out number Brewers fans 10 to 1 throughout the country.

    Haase had .819 OPS in 69 PA for Milwaukee in 2024. .870 OPS in Nashville. Haase had 2 WAR per season in 2021 and 2022 for Detroit in 323 to 352 AB per season. There are glimmers of optimism there.
