  1. In fairness to DesertBrew, no one likes blown saves. Last night’s was 95% bad luck, though.
  2. Lockridge misplayed the initial hit. Perkins probably catches it. At a minimum, Lockridge needs to keep the ball in front of him to keep it at a single. Dominic Smith hits the ball off Megill for infield single. If it doesn’t hit Megill, it probably is a ground out. The only mistake I observed is Megill spiking a fastball for the wild pitch. 14 of 17 pitches were strikes. Megill was closer to ‘dealing’ than he was to struggling.
  3. Vaughn has .808 OPS in August. I think Hoskins can give Vaughn a break once or twice per week and produce similar OPS.
  4. To say Adames could make whatever decision he wanted, regardless of financial outcome is probably inaccurate. I would not want to cross one of the most powerful employee unions in the country.
  5. The players union would likely be very upset if Adames took 80% less guaranteed money to stay in Milwaukee. The players union is at least 49% of the ‘rigged system’
  6. We could not have asked or expected more from Adames. He is among the most likeable people in baseball. On field, he is a good player occasionally confused for a great player. Zero time All Star who will make $182 million in his thirties. It is difficult to imagine Milwaukee being meaningfully better in 2025 with Adames. He is 1.2 wins (WAR) better than Ortiz at 18x the cost. 99% of Brewers fans will give a warm welcome for Adames this week (as long as he doesn’t cause the Giants to win the series).
  7. I imagine Rhys prefers not to hang out in Nashville for two weeks.
  8. Do any of our left-handed batters get the afternoon game off?
