  1. I think Santana is the next domino. This is how the game is played. Right, I mentioned out of why the need to give up your #1 guy and more when you already have a good guy sitting there that costs you nothing who's also controlled for years. Because that guy plays defense worse than an oak tree and you might be able to get good controllable starting pitching for him.
  2. Burnes going would definitely be a sell high attempt. The only risk is if he keeps going higher, but I wouldn't fault DS for making the move. It's going to be tough to top the season he had in 2017.
  3. I hope they deal Hiura if he's anywhere near as well regarded around the league as he is around here. We don't need every single prospect in the system to play for the Brewers, we just need to know when it's time to sell some of them high for controllable proven talent.
  4. I'd aim for eating Starlin's contract over Prado's personally. At least with Castro you get a younger guy, Prado is Moses.
  5. McCalvy quoted it in a tweet of his own, for me that provides significantly more credibility. A trade for Yelich is one of my least desired off-season moves of the possiblities floated to this point. If that is true you really must not like anything. 4 WAR players who play decent defense and are ascending with 370 OBPs and 300 averages with 20 HR and 15 steals must really be terrible baseball players.
  6. I've honestly never even heard his name, and i'm fairly tuned in. Can't imagine what the general Bucks fan thinks of hearing he's the coach.
  7. I like the Ellsbury idea personally. Just gets another good veteran bat in here to platoon with Braun when he gets hurt and we get ahold of a top Yankees prospect. Say what you want about our own system but taking from NYY is the cream of the crop.
  8. You get a middle finger....you get a middle finger...EVERYBODY GETS MIDDLE FINGERS!!!! Vince McMahon taking Stone Cold stunners at 72 is impressive.
  9. What doesn't make sense? The possibility of a Darvish signing and the trade scenarios are completely different transactions and seem to not hinge on each other. HighHeat19 has been pretty clear on that. He has also broken some "news" on the Darvish situation as well. From the sounds of it, he's just reporting from his source(s) that he has and let us know what he can for the time being. I'd really hate if we push that type of reporting away from our forum because we don't take it for what it is. So you're buying that back in November that Stearns would weave this web of trades knowing that it all would hinge on "trade a" in late January? You're buying that back in November Stearns wove this web of trades because he knew that in late January there would still be an unlikely number of high end free agents still available and that he would need to leverage this web of trades? You're buying that Stearns has all these trades lined up and all these GM's are just standing pat waiting for the Brewers to decide what the market is going to do? It's not personal and I would never discourage anyone from posting insider info. I have absolutely nothing against HH19 and, as I said, I'll eat crow if I'm wrong. I'm perfectly willing to admit that I'm thick in the head and am just missing something here but, in my opinion, it just doesn't add up. I would hope that cordial disagreement would not discourage HH19 but if universal acceptance of his word is what is required then I'm not on board. I would venture a guess that many of the GM's have hypothetical trades lined up if a door were to open up for them.
  10. Been a trend when Stearns makes trades, have you forgotten? We already "had" Mejia once, so he is very high on our lists. I'm all ears for what HH is saying, it makes total sense on paper to me unlike the Ellsbury standalone rumor.
  11. My guess is Darvish is "Move A" that triggers the other moves.
  12. This hubub better not lead to just Josh Harrison. Lol
  13. It'd be ideal if it was a few years ago, but present Ellsbury could still be a serviceable leadoff guy for us for a year or two. Perhaps Stearns is doing a "rent-a-leadoff guy" and then dump/relegate to 4th OF/etc for the end of the deal?
  14. About time my palms are allowed to get sweaty. Now for the refresh button the rest of the night......
  15. Corey Provus (back) is the obvious answer.
  16. I think its hangover waiting for the new building. I feel the same but other than Thon not progressing as fast as I hoped I don't really see anything that disappoints me.
  17. Did he insult you personally? Not sure why we have to call him names for chasing an opportunity that is 80% closer to his home. Signing Logan may have blocked him from getting to the Majors this year ... so if he has an opportunity to make some good money and pitch in front of some big crowds ... all the more power to him. If signing a career 4.5ERA 33 year old blocked him from getting to the majors he probably doesn't have any business on the roster anyway.
  18. Good riddance, enough wasting roster spots for that bum.
  19. Miami has no leverage in this situation. Either they take what they can get from him or have a guy on the team who has zero interest playing there and drags them down. A guy with the upside of Yelich and a good pitching prospect should be enough to have a good shot to get him IMO. Throw a flier or two in there with upside R/R if needed to get it over the top. If it isn't, perhaps Brewer fans are overvaluing our supposed excellent farm system. They can beg for Acuna all they want but they aren't getting him.
  20. Uh...the owners own the company (team). They take the upfront risk in the hopes of achieving a return down the road. I wonder if you'd feel the same way if some day you owned a business and your employees/people from the outside looked at you and thought in such a shallow fashion.
  21. They could only trade them to a team with the cap space to take them on... which is like 4 teams (Chicago, Indiana the Lakers and Brooklyn). Those 4 teams are going to pursue for Paul George and LeBron (and others). Why would they take on our crap (Henson, Delly, Snell, Teletovic) for nothing? That means trading Brogdon, their only talented guy on a rookie deal or a draft pick. The Bucks have already traded their 2018 first, which means the next one they can trade is 2020. Their last 3 first round draft picks are currently sitting at negative value (with Vaughn being a FA after this season). Sure, the team could give away Bledsoe and Middleton and probably get a pick back, but unless they did that with both, they won't have max cap-space available. None of this includes the fact that Jabari is an RFA after the season and will probably be looking to get a max (or near-max) deal from one of the previous 4 teams I mentioned. Who is giving Jabari a max type deal? The guy has had 2 serious knee injuries and played 25/82, 76/82/ 51/82, and 0/43 games in his 4 seasons. I know one team that shouldn't be and that's the Milwaukee Bucks, I don't care how much the dude likes Milwaukee and how great he is of a person. We need to see health and production.
  22. Last one out make sure the lights are turned off. This is downright pathetic basketball, I don't care how young the team is.
