  1. Mckinnon did the job well enough for them to fit the criteria, but we are going to have nightmares over Dalvin Cook the next several years. He is a crazy good back.
  2. Agreed, but if Bell was truly available for that price I think we should look hard at it. It'd only commit us to him until age 30 and he is pretty much a once in a generation back. Pittsburgh does have Connor so maybe they'd move on. I wouldn't spend any money on anybody else.
  3. I joined you crypto folks, buying a small amount of LTC that's going to be put in an alt coin like Ethereum blue or Genesis vision and "Hodl" as the reddit people say. I'll stick to my stocks though rather than the wild west, this is one heck of a pain in the butt to do. I don't see the bubble popping for quite some time if it's really this hard for people to buy things lol. Most average folks will never figure it out until it's available to the masses.
  4. This team is embarassing and the player development is even more so. There's just not any more you can say about this season than that. His angry postgame presser just makes me even more mad as well as HaHa's terrible effort. This team has been spiraling the toilet bowl and finally got the flush it deserved today.
  5. I'll say it again, when 2/3rds of the league is drafting ahead of you for eight consecutive seasons that's what happens. The Vikings have drafted ahead of the Packers every year since 2010; they should be better than the Packers. If that were the case then perhaps a strategy change at some point might be warranted? Instead of accumulating 5-6th round draft picks and almost no FA activity maybe trade up for fewer/higher talent and sign some depth here and there?
  6. Pretty ****in sad that we're supposed to get all jazzed up about Ted Thompson using our salary cap on extensions in week 17 of the NFL season. Good thing we used some of that 10 million to shore up the obvious defic.......or wait, no we didn't. Yes i'm happy that we got these guys signed, we need them. Yes i'm happy that we aren't in constant salary cap conundrums. But for God sake let's spend a little money on UPGRADING the team this offseason for once where the deficiencies are obvious please. Aaron is 34 not 26. In my mind this is a bottom 5-6 roster in the league sans Rodgers on the field bailing them out every week. Unacceptable at least in my mind with all of the longevity and chemistry this organization prides itself on.
  7. I don't think Bitcoin is a ponzi scheme, it's just ahead of it's time. Someday we will be paying for things and running our lives via Bitcoins or something like it IMO. I own no crypto and don't really have any intention to other than maybe a few fun bucks in Decentraland (MANA) if I could ever figure the whole transfer process out. Coinbase is an abomination and No thank you to selfies on GDAX. I wouldn't touch those metals with a 10 foot pole either. There's plenty of things to make money on in the regulated stock market so i'll remain there instead of the wild west.
  8. I just finished (caught up?) and this show is fantastic. All of the kids are great, but Dustin is hilarious. I love Eleven too. Now time to suffer the 2 year wait...*******...... I had the same experience with Game of Thrones. Everyone I've ever known has raved about it. I pushed myself through the first season and I felt like I had wasted hours of my life at the end of it. Game of Thrones is VERY intense...it's not a show you can watch half listening. So many characters, storylines, plots, hidden things, etc. If the whole idea of it is a subject that interests you push through the first season or a bit more, it gets way better. Also, it is a show that gets better and better the bigger your TV and/or sound system is. I did not like S1 because it was so slow, but now like everybody else I do get the withdrawal symptoms once in awhile as we endure the long wait for S8. It's my all time favorite show/movie, and i'm a late comer...didn't get into it until right before S7. Walking Dead I still really like, but it's starting to wear on me with the decisions they're making. Some of the early/middle seasons are as good as TV gets IMO.
  9. I feel like Jordy is a lifer. Cobb is more expendable for another gadget guy.
  10. If they lock it down every night like they did to Jimmy buckets and the wolves in the 4th quarter tonight 50 wins+ is the type of team they are. Against the wolves on their 2nd of a B2B, who had 3 starters had all played 40+ minutes the night before and played 36+ last night? It's almost like they got tired in the 4th. I wonder why? Yes, if they regularly outscore teams 27-12, they'll win a lot of games, but if they regularly go down 20 in the 3rd quarter they won't. This is such a farce but we don't have time to get into it. Most of these kids are 23-26 years old, give me a break they're tired of "running" up and down the court and banging around a bit during a regular season game before the all star break. Maybe in May in a grinding 7 game series, but now? I call BS. Giannis plays more minutes than any player in the league per game, take a peek at his splits on b2b vs other days rest. The Bucks shut them down and relegated KAT to standing around the 3 point line more than usual. Give the guys some credit when they perform well. The wolves are no pushover.
  11. Same Jason Kidd who predicted 50 wins this season? No other NBA team has such a gap between talent and results. Kidd needs to go. If they lock it down every night like they did to Jimmy buckets and the wolves in the 4th quarter tonight 50 wins+ is the type of team they are.
  12. Lots of teams are losing to the Bulls lately.
  13. I've seen Kizer play a few times this season and I am not sure that he is a bust. He's definitely a major work in progress but he can make some really good throws when he has the time to process and sit back in the pocket...maybe he'd be a good trade target for us if they do take another QB/s this offseason. Who is the last QB to make it "4-5 seasons" and leave for greener pastures? McCown? Bleh. Hoyer? Yuck. They don't make it that long. Kosar is the only guy I recall that even played an extended stretch of seasons lol.
  14. Who is the last QB to come through the Browns organization and reach any semblance of their potential? It's a smart decision all the way around New York over that crap hole in my opinion.
  15. They just plain didn't give two poops about it and figured nobody else would either. Pretty much how every offseason operates too...completely aloof.
  16. That's a ton. Might be a bit too much from Brewer perspective. Substitute Nottingham for Dubon and include Villar and Guerra. It's not like Villar and Guerra are high-priced vets that bring negative value. Why would you say it's too much to give up, then attach more? Plus you are trading an above-average catcher and 5 of the team's top 10 prospects, including 4 Top 100 guys. I know the team has a deep system, but that one trade would decimate it. I like Yelich too, but not at that price. I don't think Realmuto is that much of an upgrade from Pina either. Maybe if Barraclough was also attached......
  17. Finding the right fit is most of the battle from what i've experienced. It took three jobs in about 5 years for me, but i'm settled in now with a small lawn company that cares for lakefront & millionaire type homes with a great employer and a wage significantly above what the going rate is for a lawn care worker. Work hard, care, and show interest in the success of your employer's company and you will be rewarded. If they don't give a **** about you move on, there's a better owner out there somewhere that would die to have you.
  18. No idea? None of you seem to want to pay a bullpen guy what MARKET VALUE dictates, despite the huge need we have. You also don't want to pay an ace MARKET VALUE for their services. Also you don't want to trade any prospects because heaven forbid Lewis Brinson and Corbin Burnes are the second coming of Jesus Christ. Thus we have two options: 1) throw guys out there that have never seen a major league batter and pray for the best, 2) sign some decent mid rotation starters cheap like Chacin and keep Hader in the bullpen where he has been torching teams in high leverage situations. Can't have it both ways. Unless of course you'd rather we just resign Jhan Marinez, Neftali Feliz, Oliver Drake types and watch them throw leads away like they're going out of style. I say let it happen organically with Hader with regards to starting. But to start 2018 he's in the pen locking it down with Knebel.
  19. I think you guys are missing the forest for the trees. Kidd isn't the best coach, but the culture around the team from what I can tell from afar has been excellent, the growth of the players has been good, and they're making an entertaining product for the most part. I think if Jabari hadn't suffered 2 ACL's and grown with the rest of the core the discussions might be a bit different today. Enjoy the season. Or R.E.L.A.X. Whatever you prefer as we sit within range of home court in the playoffs at this early juncture.
  20. Don't fret. Suter still is a near lock to make the team as a long reliever and has an excellent shot to take the 5th starter spot if Hader stays in the pen. The Crew spending $16 million over two years to get numbers that could have come from one of Suter, Jungmann, Hader, Ventura, Burnes, Ortiz, or Derby for a grand total of about $1.5 million. This guy pitched half his games in one of the most pitcher-friendly parks in the majors. Lucroy or Neil Walker would have been a far better use of the money. Please do elaborate on how a bunch of guys combined with 41 starts (14 last season with Suter, 21 with Jungmann in 2015) are "guaranteed" to have Chacin's numbers. This a fallacy that is always used that is unprovable yet sounds great. Suter barely makes it 5 innings and Jungmann wasn't even in the majors last year. Where was he if he's that competent? Oh, and there's plenty of money just sitting in the bank for Lucroy or Neil Walker who you prefer. We didn't run out of money by signing a mid rotation starter for a low market value 2 year deal.
  21. Sounds great to me. Hader has quite a bit more value to me pitching 3 times a week in high leverage situations than 1+ a week as a #5 starter.
  22. You're joking....right? Peralta has been garbage for years, not even accounting for how much time we wasted on him as an organization. Are you fretting that by doing this signing that the Brewers could end up jumping from the lowest payroll in baseball to 29th? The answer to that is most likely they would think 5 million is too expensive. If somebody isn't signing for 1 year and 1 million dollars it's paying too much. Not sure why it matters, since it isn't their money in their bank account to begin with? I'll go out on a limb and say that when we get done with 2018 (provided no injury) we're going to be saying "holy crap, he is good just like Anderson now." Anderson was also a mediocre get at the time but obviously Stearns and his stat geeks saw something.
  23. If the right deal for any player in all of baseball presented itself, they'd be in Milwaukee...so your comment is meaningless. Certain moves can serve as indicators of whether other moves are more or less likely. The Giants trading away Span is an indicator that they will make a move for outfield help. The Brewers signing Chacin is an indicator that Stearns will be less inclined to target SP. I don't see it that way but ok. It's not like the Brewers pitching staff is a bunch of aces, we have um... Anderson - Decent mid rotation starter Davies - Decent mid rotation starter Woodruff - Unknown commodity who if takes a step back we're in trouble Suter - King 4IP and done, doesn't look good to me and throws 50mph Nelson - Out half the year or more, is a #2 type when pitching well and.....? Some minor leaguers? Guerra? Wilkerson who is another unknown? Burnes in AA? Let's bring Garza back! Contrary to popular opinion I think we need a bunch of pitching depth, and that's what this signing is. It has little to do with trading for a top end starter IMO.
  24. Agreed. We were never getting a top notch pitcher on a one year deal. I'd rather go this route than pay a Lynn/Cobb anywhere near their asking price. I wouldn't say this completely closes the door on a big trade for Archer, but making that move likely means Hader to the pen...which would be nothing short of disappointing. I wouldn't say it closes the door on Archer but I don't know if it ever was very likely. If they went after Archer they could always include Woodruff in the deal. This has absolutely nothing to do with whether Archer would be pursued, just as the Gallardo signing doesn't. If the right deal presented itself Archer will be in Milwaukee, if not then Stearns will move along.
