  1. Snoke had an escape ship/pod. They mentioned that.
  2. I only had the players I did in mine because if they’re looking at s 2020-2022 window, those prospects would fit that better. If they did take on those prospect I listed out, even if we had to add one more, we could then use Brinson to target a TOR type pitcher. Then we would really have something. Yeah that is good thinking but none are really stud low level prospects with the highest being Ray who is on a downward slope. Probably would have to add top prospects Harrison and Hiura if you go that route. I mean the Brewers would be getting a real good CF and C with 5 and 3 years of control. Might not "need" Hiura if Castro was taken in on the deal.
  3. Bradley Center was lit yo
  4. I may be a bit more of a casual Star Wars fan than some of you, but for the most part I really enjoyed this movie. Granted I lower my expectations before I go into every one of these movies, so then I can be pleasantly surprised. What's bothering me? Who the heck is Snoke? I feel like there wasn't enough backstory or character development there to really create the villian. I really liked the idea of him and then all of a sudden he's laying there in pieces. Palpatine was around for a very long time and they really made you hate him. I kind of got a kick out of the one liners honestly, but again i'm a casual fan. I will say that the 3-D with the ships was really good as well. No point in being too nitpicky, these movies are going to be made for a very long time (and will make many billions of dollars) so might as well just sit back and enjoy them for what they are. There's a ton worse out there being made right now. I'll give it an 8.5/10. I didn't care for The Force Awakens much, it felt like nothing happened in 3 hours.
  5. I understand trading for Realmuto - having a borderline elite catcher for at least 3 more years is very enticing. I also understand wanting Yelich, he is a fantastic young player. But I can't understand why people want to trade our best prospect, from our most crowded and talented position, for another outfielder. It is clear that we are overstocked in the OF, and we are eventually going to have to trade some of those players away - why would we want to bring back another OF when we could use that depth to address a real position of need like SP or reliever. I'll take the proven Yelich who is ascending over the unknown commodity in Brinson. I'd bet best case for Brinson they end up roughly an equal player except we aren't taking the risk on the downside. It's really a tossup scenario to me, but you have to give to get. Maybe they'd take Broxton in on the deal to protect as a 4th OF on their young OF's as well. Also dare I say right about the time Yelich needs the $ is about when we're taking Braun off the books.......
  6. People act like the Cubs are some overwhelming force. We should lay down just because they're good? Should the Bucks lay down because the Cavs are in their division as well until Lebron gets old? They won (6) more games than the Brewers last year and could well have lost the division if our bullpen hadn't been a trainwreck in the 1st half. They were dismantled by the Dodgers in the playoffs. They're good. The Cardinals are forever in the picture. It's not going to change. The Cubs will just buy talent like the Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers do when they get in a so called bind in a few years. Let's worry about 2018 and then we'll worry about 2021. God i'm sick of hearing people cheer for losing or plans 4 years down the road. Are you even fans? A couple upgrades here and there isn't going to compromise the future. A 2 year 10 million dollar contract to a reliever isn't going to "hamstring" the organization, nor is 2/20 to Neil Walker or anyone else of his caliber. So to answer the question, yes, I am losing my patience. But it's not with David Stearns.
  7. This makes too much sense to happen. And heck yes sign me up for both Yelich and Realmuto if you want to really go big. I'd sell the farm for Yelich/Realmuto/Barraclough and immediately extend all three. Buy starting pitching and off we go.
  8. I'm getting really damn sick and tired of reading about people hoping to tank in 2018. Stop thinking like this team lost 100 games last season. Well at some point you have to look to see what the Brewers have done to get better. Signing Gallardo as a single transaction isn't anything to get worked up about but considering they have not done anything else there is no indication they will be improving. If they stand pat, especially in the pitching department, they will most likely be worse just on the fact that Nelson won't be back for months if at all in 2018. It's December 18th. Did spring training start and I missed it? I know it feels like Ted Thompson is running the Brewers but be patient. The signings/trades will come.
  9. Thanks for playing, Debbie Downer. Lol It was supposed to be a thread on what you would like to see them do. Lol. Oh I'd like to see some rear ends lit on fire don't get me wrong, but I just don't see it. We won too many games while AR was out so it doesn't "look" like we imploded. Capers deserves retirement and in my opinion McCarthy deserves a hot seat if not a pink slip too. I think if Capers gets canned we should consider ourselves lucky. This clan we have running things is very tightly woven and probably all stays or all goes.
  10. Agreed on both points. Drafting 19th with the associated pool money does not help bring in those 60 grade players. I'm getting really damn sick and tired of reading about people hoping to tank in 2018. Stop thinking like this team lost 100 games last season. Thank you.
  11. Offseason moves? Status quo on Lombardi avenue. Nobody will get fired, nobody will be signed in FA, and well draft "some guys."
  12. Finally this dog of a team has been put out to pasture. Unfortunately they won too many games while AR was hurt though, so it will be status quo on Lombardi Avenue yet again this offseason. Zero urgency within this organization whatsoever as Aaron Rodgers ages by the day. God I can't wait for another offseason of zero free agent acquisitions and a bunch of draft picks that either will bust or won't help us for 2-3 years. What a fantastic thought. Yes, I am being a bit naive and unappreciative of 7-8 years straight in the playoffs. But time is running short here and hall of fame QB's don't grow on trees, contrary to what many Packers fans seem to believe. I'm pushing 30 years old and I literally cannot remember the last time I reflected on a game thinking "holy **** our defense destroyed them today." Can anyone else think of a time?
  13. Stearns does nothing ---> WHY AREN'T WE DOING ANYTHING Stearns makes a virtual no risk unlimited upside signing ---> WHY IS STEARNS DOING SOMETHING Some people just can't be pleased. At times I wonder if we traded for Kershaw if even then it would be a bad move. I see absolutely nothing wrong with getting another veteran arm in here cheap. He can only help the team, if not he will be gone and no harm done. What is the problem?
  14. But it really hasn’t. In the two years he produced well. The two years that everyone seems to basing his career on they were .26 and .21 below the league average. The other years were he is a four ERA pitcher they have been at the league average. What that tells me is he does need to be exceptional in that category to be the pitcher we would want buying. Then moving to Miller Park that seems unlikely. Kershaw's ERA would go up too if he played in Yankee Stadium, Fenway, and Camden. Miller Park would also be like this, except the NL has pitchers. PNC, Busch, and GABP are all middle of the road or worse hitting environments than any of those AL East venues. I like Lynn but if STL doesn't see value there I will definitely say no thanks. Does the name Jeff Suppan ring a bell?
  15. 3 million? That money can be found under the couch cushion for a career pretty good reliever. Having difficulty seeing what is scary about it.
  16. In summary, nobody is ever good enough, they cost too much money, or our prospects are GOAT and untradeable. If they're willing to deal their ACE i'm all ears and every prospect we have is on the table IMO. We have outfielders growing out of our ears, dumping one or two won't ruin us. Get it done.
  17. This. Signing a Cishek, Reed, Swarzak, etc... would be sexy and fun for Brewer fans but I am willing to go into the season with Knebel, Jeffress, Barnes, Taylor Williams and Adrian Houser in the bullpen (with the addition of a LHP somewhere). I am willing to take the chance the difference in performance between those guys and Williams and Houser is not worth $9 million. So you are willing to go into the season with exactly (1) proven arm at this juncture. Jeffress could be ok, could not be. Barnes drove us up the wall for a portion of last year, another that could be ok, could not be. The other two have no experience. Sounds like a possible disaster. We lost the division last year because our pen was SO bad for half the year. I feel like i'm living deja vu year round now instead of only with Ted Thompson. Nobody is asking for a spending bonanza, most are asking for "A" proven arm to supplement the pen. "A" as in one. It's not asking for the bank to be broken, hell it is barely digging under the couch cushions. I don't know about anyone else but i'd rather not blow 20 games again early in the year with an otherwise competitive team.
  18. They fired their dinosaur when it was time. They also don't blow games or give up record setting performances in the playoffs.
  19. Every time MM is on the ropes they somehow escape by the skin of their teeth. I'm a Packer fan through and through and will always cheer for them but down 21-7 I realllllllllllly wanted them to lose that game. I want change instead of this same old status quo. So frustrating.
  20. That phone gets hung up if Bumgarner isn't the offer. Whether we saw peak Santana or not the upside is too giant to risk trading. No thanks to their trash that lost 100 games and bad farm. I'd trade Brinson for an ace and move on with Phillips or vice versa depending what the team wants.
  21. I'm gonna be irate if Santana goes for any less than Bumgarner. We have next to zero reason to trade this guy, 4 years of control on 30-40 HR .900 OPS cleanup type hitter is just plain stupid.
  22. I've never owned any, too much hassle but I would have cut and run awhile back. Now that the helicopters are looking for their money I sense it may get very ugly in this clown operation soon. Down the road I can definitely see this type of thing becoming mainstream, but like the tech bubble was ahead of its time I think this is ahead of its time. A couple (literally) will survive and get very big. The rest will probably be total fakes. What goes up must come........
  23. I guess he just believes in the team. Maybe it's good for them to have to learn to hit those clutch FT's before it costs them playoff games? I don't think I would have had done it if I was in his situation but I don't think its all that outrageous the more I think about it. Maybe I just think Kidd is a decent coach. Think back to the dumpster fire coaches we've had over the years, whether it was Terry Stotts, Larry Krystkowiak, LARRY DREW....Kidd is the best IMO.
  24. That article is a joke. We have to give up Brogdon (ROY) AND Middleton with Henson but these other teams rumors are junk players? We better not make that deal. Give them Henson, DJ, and maybe a pick or hang up the phone unless he's got a pen when he gets off the plane for an extension.
  25. No thanks...why are we trading decent prospects for a middle rotation guy? We can buy those all day long with our payroll and keep all these prospects. If we're going this route i'd rather get a guy like Manaea who is probably similar trajectory with some upside possibilities but only 25, giving up a bit more. You get what you pay for in life.
