  1. And to think there are some on here screaming bloody murder because they want us to have another high pick over competing for W's on the squad / a 10th pick.
  2. As long as it ends up as a W who cares how ugly it is? Fantastic to send the dirty birds home with a series loss!
  3. Vikings started 5-0 last year, and we know where that ended up (Lol). Anything can happen.
  4. Don't forget Hochevar was 1st overall and he amounted to a BP arm, and not even an elite one. I have no idea who Greg Reynolds is (#2), I wouldn't say Brad Lincoln or Brandon Morrow (#4/#5) were world beaters either. 8, 9, 12, 13, 14 were mediocre to total busts too. I don't even trust that Brewer management would have picked Kershaw, Timmy, or Scherzer anyway, nor that they would have developed in our system. Maybe you should experience the Twin Cities for a season where a once proud fan base has ERODED after years of 90+ losses and drafting that hasn't worked out. The Twins are the joke of the town and nobody gives 2 rips, do you really want this in Milwaukee? Because don't fool yourself, it will happen in that small town. The WORST thing you can do to a fan base is create apathy and indifference. I'm all for tearing it down, but we did that already...now it's time to move ahead and start building.
  5. The higher you pick, the more choices you have and the more money you have. Spoiler alert: That's a good thing. How's that working out for the Twins? Buxton really looks like a perennial all star. Sano and Kepler were international signings. Their other high end picks have flopped. Kansas City drafted high for years/decades before they hit on something. The Yankees/Red Sox/Tigers/etc like to buy talent. There's examples of all different kinds of ways to build a team. If it happens we get a high pick that's great, but IMO i'll take the mid round pick from here and lets see what Harrison, Gatewood, etc do and let's crush it. Giannis wasn't a top pick, Rodgers, etc. You can find talent anywhere. I don't buy you dislike we're 0.5 back of the division lead in May considering what was expected out of this team. Even the most bearish of fans has to have a sliver of happiness. If we don't give up 5 run leads we'd be 3-4 games better too.
  6. The fact that he's a 27 year old average player with little upside on a rebuilding team and we went out and sought a trade for him? I completely disagree with the way Stearns is handling this rebuild and I don't know if he has Attanasio in his ear telling him not to bottom out but it's like they're afraid to lose 100 games when that would be infinitely better than losing 86. Who cares...enjoy the season. It's not like the #3 pick is any more likely to be a star than the #20 pick. MLB draft is a total crapshoot. You play to win the game, otherwise go cheer for the Padres.
  7. I'm in a pretty foul / irate mood, but i'm not sure as to whether I should focus it at the bullpen or at the freaking CARDINALS.
  8. Who would take Marinez, I know I wouldn't bother if I was a GM. Expose him to waivers.
  9. Because Turner field was sooooo much better.
  10. Don't blow 5 run leads and we'd be several games better too.
  11. Only a disappointment if you actually thought he was going to be good this year in the first place.
  12. That's not really true- only three times in the last eight drafts. Again, Adams is a potentially disruptive d-lineman. Yes, a Harold Green type is sufficient to get the job done at NT, but guys like Clark and Adams are potentially more productive, and as hybrid players can rotate in at End as well. Khyri Thornton was another cool story, pathetic waste of a 3rd rounder on a "freak" but lazy and inconsistent. Ted's overall record with DL/LB is not good so pretty good chance this is a flop pick.
  13. For the love of God please find some pitchers that can hold massive leads against hideous baseball teams.
  14. We let the good RB's all slip away with the last two picks. IMO it's pretty much all slow or tiny ones left. De'veon Smith is about all that interests me...needed 1 of Mixon/Foreman/Kamara/Connor.
  15. Morgan Burnett was put on notice with that 2nd pick.
  16. That was such a trash fire ending to a fantastic game. Giannis bruh...MAKE YOUR FREE THROWS! Talk about a brain fart driving a wide open lane with Lowry on him too...and don't forget Middleton's brain farts. Overall I would call it a good season, but man what a terrible way to end it.
  17. T plush takes the cake.
  18. He didn't get much of a chance to be fair, I live over here and watch a fair amount of them and I think you underestimate severely how bad the Vikings OL is/was. They made Seattle's OL look like road graders at times and it's a minor miracle Bradford is still alive.
  19. I'm really struggling to find a term to describe the pitching, bullpen specifically. I feel like Dumpster Fire or clusterF aren't adequate.
  20. None of it matters if this team continues to display the defensive abilities of a 10 year old.
  21. Holy god that was pathetic. Why is the coaching staff paid if the focus/defense is like that?
  22. Dare I suggest that Jabari might be (sorta) on the trading block if anyone would call? Value is probably fairly low so maybe not but as much as i'd like it to work he just is hindering this team when he's out there on flow/defense...its readily apparent now. Maker is going to need his minutes as time goes on too.
