  1. Valencia and Lind aren't even in the same stratosphere. We know precisely what Valencia is, and barring a miracle what he will be. And that player is definitely NOT part of the next wave of Brewer players. Dominguez has the opportunity to be a part of the next wave. Same with Perez. We need to see these kids, and see them often. No room for Valencia type players until the next wave is here & THEN we fill with utility guys like Valencia.
  2. So....lets pick up a 30 year old career part timer (he IS a great platoon player) who has zero place in our future so he can block a couple of minor leaguers who need a shot so we can see if there is anything there. One has big power in his bat and could be a good starter if he put it all together (Dominguez). Makes total sense to me...lets pick Valencia up immediately for the playoff push!!!! Sigh
  3. This is my preferred method. Why would we go nuts on A prospects who could flame at several times the rate when you can get young controlled talent that is MLB ready or very close to it? It's a smart business move, especially with all the high upside draft picks we've been making recently. Makes no sense to me to do the former, although surely I will be trashed shortly.
  4. @AdamRubinESPN 7m7 minutes ago Source: Only thing that could hold up the deal is Brewers balking on Zack Wheeler's physical. #mets #brewers
  5. Everybody just settle down and have a drink. The armrests have been ripped off the chairs and it hasn't been 30 minutes.
  6. Sounds like Segura is on borrowed time to me, and Scooter. Flores has a ton of pop and plays SS/2B.
  7. I'm fine with Lagares coming our way. His D is as good as Gomez and who knows, maybe the bat will come around.
  8. Just because Brewer fans don't know how good Fiers has been doesn't mean Wheeler is bad. He's not bad, but I don't consider him a potential ace which is what I think Carlos Gomez is worth. Wheeler for Segura maybe, but for Gomez I want Matz or better. My preference is Syndergaard or Harvey (buy low off his TJ rehab), but it's unrealistic IMO unless we give them moar players and/or prospects.
  9. I could get used to refreshing this page every 2 minutes for the next few hours...
  10. Quite generous to include Wheeler in the same tier as Harvey/deGrom/Matz. This trade is going to be bad... Wheeler is such a disappointing return for Gomez. I disagree with that. Wheeler has ace upside. You're asking for the moon. If they want to part with Harvey/deGrom/Matz/Syndergaard great, but Wheeler is no slouch either. IMO
  11. Gimme Harvey! He's been the one that's struggling lol. In seriousness, Colon and Niese are their #3 and #4 right now.
  12. http://milwaukee.locals.baseballprospectus.com/2015/07/29/all-questions-answered-trade-deadline-2015/ So depressing. Oh gee, I believe I said exactly that on here last night and got destroyed. We still have 48 hours, but DM and MA appear to be cowards.
  13. I think that placement in the order can help/hurt guys, but I don't think batting leadoff is the reason for his monster year. I think the "oh, he's really turned it around after moving to the leadoff spot" gets overblown by announcers a lot. Sometimes hitting in front of a certain player gets you better pitches, but it's not some wacky mental change that makes you an All Star like some announcers seem to claim. I think he'll be a .750-.775 guy that platoons (which I would love to have, but not for the money) and I'd rather just get what I can for him right now. Can always sign him back after the season. Oh Id trade anyone for the right price. But Parra is now moving from the nice trade piece to a guy that I would just as soon extend rather than dump for anything less than a very significant package. If he was 34 instead of 28 Id be more concerned with his bump in production as being flukey. I am becoming to become used to starting the game off with a guy standing on 2b. He might be our best lead off hitter since the Ignitor. If they can pull of a very rare trade and sign, id be fine with that, but he would be a FA Id prioritize. The Minnesota Twins (who still don't realize it I don't think) and Kurt Suzuki say hi....
  14. The Twins bullpen is nothing short of a dumpster fire. They need Will Smith and maybe even KRod.
  15. Parra will be traded. If you think otherwise you're either naive or blind with hatred. "Frustrated" and "realistic" might be the term you're looking for. Say Parra does go (and I want him to), no matter what we get back short of the #1 pick in last year's draft everybody will think it's a terrible deal. Don't lose sight of the fact MA wants to go for it every single year, that plays a huge part in everything. Hell, he probably still thinks we can win 20 in a row and get that 2nd wild card spot.
  16. Sorry to bust everyone's bubble, but the odds on favorite is for this organization to not trade EITHER Parra or Gomez, and likely nothing else either. Couple token August trades like Broxton and then tell everybody they tried their damndest to get it done.
  17. I've seen him hit a few monster HR. Kid has uber power, just hasn't put it all together yet...too many strikeouts. I think if we could get him cheap jump on it, we can have the next "brothers" duo. He'd be a good platoon partner for K Davis if we kept him long term.
  18. Players not revealed yet, but Ken Rosenthal says Cueto is headed west (or east?) to Kansas City.
  19. I wonder if we might catch lightning in a bottle and get Broxton out of here somehow. Seems like he's regained his old form of late, and has an ERA in the mid 2's for the month of July.
  20. @Brewers 51s52 seconds ago Phoenix, AZ 1B Adam Lind left tonight's game with low back tightness. #MILvsARI
