  1. KJ McDaniels is a FA? Man we should pick him up...defensive beast.
  2. Bayless or Mayo are probably on their way out too. Logjam in the backcourt with guys that need minutes (Vasquez, MCW, Mids, Vaughn who should have minutes). Wouldn't surprise me to see Mayo offloaded for minimum return either, which would be a good thing money wise.
  3. Zaza was baggage in the wake of the Monroe signing. Ideally I would like to see Henson traded for a cheap controllable big too (he's going to command 10 mil next year on FA), and while we're not strapped, we can't afford that for a limited offensive big like him when we have Giannis, Parker, Monroe (eventually), and maybe MCW to pay.
  4. Everyone is trade-able if the price is high enough. We could probably get Sano for Gomez & Lucroy I really don't think that even tips the scale. Unless you live over here you likely don't understand the connection between Buxton/Sano and the fans. Management has sold the fans for years that these two are the second coming, to trade them after fans FINALLY get a sniff of them is idiotic & could cause a revolt. They like Fryer and Pinto anyway, and just paid Suzuki too much money. No need for Lucroy or Gomez because the Pohlads would never pay to retain them.
  5. If you want Gomez traded to the Twins you need to hope Miguel Sano struggles a bit...the way he has looked since they brought him up there is no longer a need for a cleanup hitter. Guy has been everything advertised and more, way better than Buxton's first trip up. There will be absolutely NO trading of the Buxtons or the Sanos, fans are way too attached to them. Don't even bother wearing your fingers out typing proposed trades including them.
  6. Darn the luck...if Lohse could somehow get hurt too we're going to make a push for the 2nd wild card.
  7. You guys think Lohse has been bad? He looks like an all star compared to Ricky Nolasco over here. I think there is truth to the Cotts rumor though, they need bullpen help in the worst way...especially LHP.
  8. Because everybody notices that $0.03 tax increase on stuff they buy. Pure absurdity. And I am about as far from a traditional big government type of person as one can get.
  9. I hate to be Oscar the grouch, but this winning streak is really starting to tick me off. 7 of 8 now, we're going to rattle off another 7-8 in a row to get us 5-10 games under 500, no trades will get made, and we will end up in the middle of the draft. Dropping the ball again...something Brewer management is great at.
  10. When is Sasha Banks going to get the promotion? I really like Owens, but I feel like there are other assets that are not being used like her down there as well. Ridiculous how boring it's gotten lately.
  11. Interesting...guess we better start talking about Ponce a bit more. Report: Milwaukee's Cody Ponce promoted to Class A Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Cody Ponce appears to be on the fast track to the major leagues. According to Ryan Collingwood of the Helena Independent Record, the 2015 second-round pick is being promoted to the Single-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers after posting a 3.60 ERA in five innings (two appearances) with the rookie league Helena Brewers. Although his sample size is small, Ponce's high potential likely contributed to his promotion. The 55th overall pick by Milwaukee ranked 35th on Keith Law's Top 100 draft prospects prior to the draft. http://espn.go.com/blog/mlb/post/_/id/8844/report-milwaukees-cody-ponce-promoted-to-class-a
  12. Carter is a bum currently, but has upside. He's the kind of guy we should be targeting if they really do want a guy like Garza or Lohse. Sure he'll never be anything special, but he's a guy with power that can fill the void at 1B for a couple years until the long term solution is ready. Maybe we catch lightning in a bottle and he figures it all out too. Singleton is better yet, but I don't know the Stros well enough to know how fed up they are with him. He's a possible long term 1B solution at 23 years old.
  13. I always get a kick out of people who think any pay is an overpay. K Mids is the ONLY semblance of a scorer we have (a very efficient one though), yet heaven forbid we can't pay him. We paid him 900k last year...he deserves to eat too at some point. The kid has done nothing BUT improve from the first day he set foot in Milwaukee. He is not at his ceiling, this is an absolute steal down the road when it really matters (IE - when Giannis / Parker / MCW are theoretically coming into their primes). Who is to say MCW or Parker (or Giannis!) ever make it to max money status anyway? You can't base it on that, quite frankly I thought Parker was OK last year, somewhat average actually. Wiggins was much better. The K Mids deal had to be done, and we'll deal with it down the road. 3 and D guys have trade value, but Middleton may have scorer value as well.
  14. Hernan Perez continues to rake... 2-3 tonight with a triple off Cole Hamels.
  15. IDK, Wisconsin has become a powerhouse of sorts. This job is way more attractive than it was say, 24 months ago. Seems to me that Bo posturing Gard today means there might be a little dissent in the ranks over whether he should be the coach and Bo is getting out in front of it. Maybe i'm all wet, and i'd lay the odds on Gard getting the job, but it wouldn't surprise me either if a higher profile guy surfaces at some point as a contender.
  16. I still can't believe that Stanton put one above my head last year at Target Field...and I was near the top of LF. Incredible.
  17. Why is it when someone comes up (Gennett is a great example) and people say "I don't see this guy as being a starting caliber player", everyone is a 'hater'? We're all Brewer fans. I'm sure EVERYONE here would love to see all these guys sport .900+ OPS and play gold glove caliber defense. Is it not objective to loo at his career .660 minor league OPS and say "He probably projects as a utility guy"? If the guy breaks out and puts up a .300/.350/.450 do you not think EVERYONE here would not be ecstatic? I (and most) are just saying that the numbers most likely do not support that kind of a breakout for this player. Some of these are in jest, but I went back through the thread for you and here are some of the things that have been said. I'm sorry, but all of them with the exception of #1 can be described as "being haters."
  18. Oh how generous of them...CJ Wilson is precisely what other teams are looking for. I sure do hope we can get in on that one! *snark
  19. There is surely regression to the mean coming, but what little i've seen of him he seems fairly disciplined at the plate, not to mention successful. I hope he becomes a solid player just so the jokers around here can eat their words...don't understand the hate for the guy.
  20. For whatever it's worth, I think Joe Mauer has been hit by concussions similar to Justin Morneau. Ever since he took those balls to the face and mysteriously sat out for a long time a year or two ago he has not looked like the same player. It might be hard to compare him to Lucroy in that regard.
  21. Negative. We have our eyes set on bigger fish. Even if we don't get him Lasry/Edens sure mean business.
  22. Thank god we have 7 years of control of Wang. Whatever on earth would we do without a Rule 5 scrub pitcher.
  23. I think people are severely underestimating Demarcus Cousins. Too much headline reading...he's really starting to grow up the past 12-24 months and would be an EXCELLENT grab if the Kings were looking to deal him. Have you even watched him play? I would venture not considering who he plays for & they are on the west coast. The kid (he is still a kid) is an absolute monster and HUSTLES his big butt down the court. I wouldn't take another center over him in the league, and that includes Marc Gasol, Andre Drummond, Deandre Jordan, and Tyson Chandler. As for Vaughn, I haven't seen a ton of him but what I did see he looked to have the upside of a good scorer in the league in a few years...I wouldn't mind that pick at all.
  24. Well you can't just hoe yourself out, you have to maintain some semblance of a strong position on your side of a trade proposal. We'll sell something, i'm not sure what though.
  25. Overrated player anyway, doesn't belong in the HOF either way. Probably the most glorified singles hitter in the history of MLB.
