  1. Not a great game and let’s hope Junior isn’t coming back to earth. Still I’m ecstatic we are 19-14 at this point in the season with our worst regression offensive fears being realized.
  2. Glad this is minor. I was think oh no when I first saw the news.
  3. This is why swearing should be allowed. We finally get a good inning and our best pitcher falls apart. Baseball.
  4. Thank goodness for Reds pitching to get us rolling.
  5. Well he can if you sell him high for someone that could help out at those positions.
  6. Great starts? Are you referring to the Colorado Springs hitters? I’m thinking if those stats translate to the majors then the Brewers would rather keep Nottingham and Dubon since we desperately need production at C and middle infielder.
  7. It’s also April. Trades aren’t usually made this time of year so they will likely stay with this group and hope they break out as it warms up. July would be the time to make major moves if they are needed.
  8. He was an obvious regression candidate but given his good chemistry component they gave him a chance. Hopefully he turns it around to at least his career norms, which isn’t much, and soon. The good news is there is no shortage of good glove no hit utility guys to pick up on the cheap. They must think Colorado hitting stats are completely worthless because Dubom seems like the obvious next man up even with his fielding concerns.
  9. Walking a lot in the minors isn’t a skill that translates well to the majors. Developing the hit tool is far more important.
  10. Huh? You don’t think Cain and Yelich are good offensive players? I guess that depends on your definition of “very good” which is what I said. They are OBA guys not middle of the order power run producer guys. They were brought in to set the table for Braun, Shaw, Santana, and Thames. Which to a certain degree they have done but it doesn’t matter because the middle of the order guys haven’t been 2017 level productive. So while they are both good hitters they aren’t guys anyone would ever expect to carry a lineup.
  11. If Aguilar is the a Brewers best hitter that begs more questions than answers.
  12. Regression and injuries plus the two new guys weren’t really very good offensive players to begin with, their value came in part from their LF and CF D.
  13. It’s gettimg time to discuss CC and DJ as our LaRussa and Duncan.
  14. LOL, it's gonna be as long as he's in the pen. Also, I think speaking in absolutes doesn't do you any favors 22ks in 9.2 high leverage innings. If someone wants to argue that isn’t valuable that’s on them, not me.
  15. Harder is a reliever and should stay there. This is not an argument anymore.
  16. These players in general seem more fragile than ever, not just the Brewers. Babe Ruth used to show up to spring training with cigars, whiskey, and hookers. Todays players train 7 days a week and fall apart running to 1B.
  17. Considering they were 10th in the NL in runs last year and 11th this year, I’d say the OF has not paid dividends. Braun has actually been our best OF so far with Yelich hurt and Cain looking just old. Yikes.
  18. What are the odds?
  19. Bandy needs to be DFA'd immediately. I wonder what Maldonado is doing these days? I mean besides winning Gold Gloves and all.
  20. CC already has manager of the year locked up with this goofy roster.
  21. Braun isn't getting DFA'd.
  22. In order to ignore older data you'd have to prove the stuff has changed. Chacin has never been a hard thrower, and he's always been pretty a sinker/slider guy. But if you want to try to prove it, go for it. I'll wait. Ignore history at your own peril. History is full of pitchers who had one good year and a few meh years and never do much after that. The most recent history of any kind of success after 2013 is 2017 which not coincidentally happens to be in a pitchers park. Away from there he was horrible. The odds of a 30 year old pitcher magically rediscovering his 2013 hitters park magic are remote. But as you say, ignore history if you wish, because it isn’t kind to this fellows outlook, but you knew that and are just being argumentative.
