  1. We're still waiting for it to land. I haven’t seen many hit that high on the scoreboard. One from Prince and one from Russell Branyan come to mind, that’s about it. Sexton had one way up there too I think. For the media attention. We blew a lead just last year and blew one what 4 years ago much bigger. Cubs are very good and only 1.5 games out. It is what it is, just keep winning. It all kinda just sucks we're in the NL, even with this great record they're only like 5 up on the WC.
  2. Why would you question that? It's actually been surprising how often they've been dogs this year. During that like 11ish game winning streak they were dogs in almost every game
  3. Woodruff would actually line up perfectly as he pitched 4 innings on 7/2, would be normal rest for him. Wilkerson last pitched 6/26. Maybe they simply think Wilkerson is the better pitcher right now, but agreed it is surprising. Wow, very surprised then. I'd like to see Woodruff get a few starts. He was fine his last time up, think he went 4 or 5 innings scoreless or at least ok. Fastball getting in the 96-99 range too. Wilkerson last game got just lit up. Besides recent games though, one is a legit prospect and the other is just filler. I'd prefer getting the legit prospect a run.
  4. Just saw this too, why not Woodruff? I'm guessing the days don't line up or something but if they'd known this was possible could have started planning a few days ago for it
  5. Cubs number two. I'm shocked we are still in first. Cubs seem to be good at everything. Hugely up in run differential. Maybe bullpen? That change soon I'm sure as we get to the trade deadline. Yup, last year we'd be up like 10 games right now
  6. Yea it's not like we're talking about Villar being an everyday 3B. If matchups workout and Shaw needs an off day vs a lefty you can toss him in there for a day or two per month and it's fine. Let's say Shaw got hurt though, what options do they have for 'everyday' other than Perez? That's a bit of a scary thought
  7. I mean, I think he did get it. Just that's all the further it goes when he gets it
  8. The previous two starts before last game he went 7 innings with 2 and 1 runs given up. He's been pretty low on our list of problems this year, if anything he's been a huge help considering how poorly Davies, Anderson have done, no Nelson all year. And f I remember right last game he gave up nothing through 4 before all went to heck
  9. I think I saw Thornberg should be finally making his Sawx debut any day now too
  10. I don't expect much but it sure would be great to get a few weeks hot streak here out of him. Plus the comedic value of it to this board, haha. I'd guess he goes back down whenever Saladino is back though, who knows maybe Sogard will be the one going out though.
  11. This Miller v Sogard argument comes down to overvaluing Sogards 4-5 week hot stretch and overvaluing Miller's one 'awful' year last season. Figure in regression to their mean's and it's really not close. And that's not to say Miller is some star player or anything, just that Sogard has no business being on an MLB roster.
  12. Sure it's better to have Broxton to call up in a situation like this rather than having to play Nick Franklin types, but yea long term you're not winning if he's playing a ton of games. And yes at this point I'm fine if they bring up Nottingham and split time with Pina. THey need to try and jump start the offense in some way and the obvious route is turning the 3 black hole spots into at least basic competency. In theory Miller should provide taht at one of the IF spots each day. Maybe this helps at C. And maybe down Keston down the line too.
  13. I'm still surprised at the amount of people finding ways to defend and justify Sogard. really can't believe it.
  14. Fastball was 89-91 right away, had a feeling this was gonna go badly. hopefully can get outta this inning with 3 and get like 4 innings out of him
  15. just flipped to MLB network and they're doing SD/Pit highlight run and the first thing is Angel botching a call and then getting in a fight with the manager. Kinda walking towards dugout and yelling at the manager.
  16. .500 for the week already. House money all weekend
  17. Braun isn't in the game.... oh right yea, just had it in my head after Shaw...duh. That'll do though
  18. cmon Braun. Come through here for one more Badger Mutual Insurance run
  19. old school umping costs a run. Can't wait til the automated system
  20. Did that all become official yet. I think last I saw CS was moving to San Antonio but that we'd end up in Fresno?
  21. So, seems to me again forcing a lefty in there who's not nearly as good of a pitcher as the righty options. If you don't have a good lefty I'd just rather use the better pitchers in those matchups, Barnes, Williams etc.
