  1. Time to dfa Civale. Dude is a home run machine.
  2. For me, his motion and career trajecitory remind me a lot of Mike Fiers. Guy with a high arm slot, bounced around the minors and never really figured it out. Now all coming together at the big league level. Mike Fiers 2.0.
  3. Saw the Gasser TJ prognosis coming from a mile away. Bigtime bummer. Yet another injury.
  4. I agree with Robinson's Beard and BrewerFan. Ashby is just now coming back from a major shoulder surgery. With his longterm deal the Brewers will give him every chance to make it as a starter. If not, then at some point I think they move him to the pen and let him unleash for 1-2 innings. The bottom line is that we are probably at least 12 months or so from the organization even considering throwing in the towel on Ashby.
  5. That may be coming when they activiate Taylor Clarke or Jakob Junis at some point here in the near future.
  6. Nope. Herget to AAA. Meeker DFA'd. Nice knowing yah, Mr. Meeker. Dude got a cup of coffee, a game ball, and a DFA boot.
  7. Gasser to the 60 day IL would certainly fix the 40 man problem.
  8. Sorry if I missed it. However, who did the Brewers DFA (or move to the 60 day DL) to make room for Rodridguez? I dont see him on the 40 man...
  9. MLBTraderumors ran a full story on Gasser this am. As I feared, renouned surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache is reccomending that Gasser have UCL surgery. Apparently Gasser's UCL is not torn but is not as "strong as it should be." From the article, "Any form of UCL surgery — be it Tommy John surgery, an internal brace procedure or a hybrid of the two — would wipe out the remainder of Gasser’s season. A full Tommy John or a Tommy John/internal brace hybrid would keep Gasser out of action late into the 2025 season at least. A strict internal brace without a full UCL reconstruction could have him back on the mound earlier than that. Cannot make this stuff up this year. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/06/brewers-rumors-robert-gasser-elbow-surgery.html
  10. Ashby got out of a mess in the first!
  11. This is right on. The Brewers are not going to acquire a big-time name. Instead Brewer fans should be looking for the 2024 version of Jordan Lyles. Also, don't be surprised if the Brewers try Taylor Clarke before going the trade route.
  12. This is precisely where my brain went. It's always rest, second opinions, and then surgery.
  13. In all seriousness, I'm hoping and praying its not a UCL/Tommy John thing.
  14. Davies is a finess pitcher and it appears his control has really suffered the last two years. If the Brewers think they could fix the issue its at least intriguing. Davies will never be an ace. But he used smoke and mirrors to get through 5-6 decent innings over a 5 year period as a an MLB pitcher. If he was a power guy who lost his velo I would say hes done. But as a control guy with a long MLB past I am intrigued,
  15. Thyago Vieira was DFA'd because: 1. He stunk in 22 innings this year. It wasnt just 1 bad outing. 2. He was out of options. Posters on here had been pointing to Vieira the last couple of weeks as a guy who could be cut loose to free up a 40 man spot for the AAA-MLB bullpen shuttle that happens every year. Guy was just not good enough to justify occupying a 40 man spot all year.
  16. Just saw the Royals released Zach Davies from his minor league contract: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/05/royals-release-zach-davies.html It makes me cringe to even bring this guy up, but I do wonder if he might be a cheap stopgap until Ross/Junis return.
  17. Scrubs got killed. Hate to see it. Great chance to pad the division lead.
  18. Bad Astros and then gawd awful Marlins.
  19. Boy would it be nice if Gasser is for real and can keep up something like what he has done.
  20. He's a high strikeout guy. That results in high pitch counts and him being pulled after 5 or 6.
  21. Guttierez was traded to the Red Sox for cash. Hard to beleive anyone wanted him enough to trade for him. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/04/brewers-trade-vladimir-gutierrez-red-sox.html
  22. Sucks to lose a series. However, very glad to steal game 3 and avoid the sweep. I'd be livid if I was a Padres fan.
  23. Looks like the Twins got Kemp on a minor league deal. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/04/twins-sign-tony-kemp.html
