    Excellent post. This is all spot on. There is no way the Brewers should even consider engaging Adames. Frankly, if the Brewers intend to complete I dont think I would want to be locked in with Adames for more than 2 more years. Obviously, his deal is going to be much longer than 2 years.

    I had pretty much written off Weimer in 2023. Wish him the best but things dont look good for him. With his swing I felt he was either going to be Hunter Pence 2.0 or a complete bum.

    Just a guess. But I would think a) Gives teams an opportunity to reward up and comers with a cup of coffee, and b) Gives teams a chance to bring in reinforcements at the end of a long brutal marathon of a season.

    My reaction to the Montas trade: 1. The Brewers had a 40-man roster crunch. This solves a bit of the crunch. 2. I had essentially written off Weimer as a part of the future. It appears the Brewers had written him off too. Hopefully the Reds dont turn him into Hunter Pence. That would really sting. 3. I gotta think the Montas trade also really plays into what is going to go down today.

    I believe Milner will get traded or dfa'd before the deadline. I've felt that way for weeks. (Yes I'm aware his peripherals are decent). Zas and Koenig make him expendable. Even if not I see him get on tendered as I don't see the Brewers wanting to give him another raise.

    For me, his motion and career trajecitory remind me a lot of Mike Fiers. Guy with a high arm slot, bounced around the minors and never really figured it out. Now all coming together at the big league level. Mike Fiers 2.0.

    I agree with Robinson's Beard and BrewerFan. Ashby is just now coming back from a major shoulder surgery. With his longterm deal the Brewers will give him every chance to make it as a starter. If not, then at some point I think they move him to the pen and let him unleash for 1-2 innings. The bottom line is that we are probably at least 12 months or so from the organization even considering throwing in the towel on Ashby.

    Gasser to the 60 day IL would certainly fix the 40 man problem.
