  1. These two are looking more and more like DFA material each day.
  2. Turang swings at ball 4, Chourio and Yelich whiff....woof...
  3. Brewer Hicklen DFA'd this am. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/03/brewers-designate-brewer-hicklen-for-assignment.html Saw him play quite a bit this spring. He was not inspiring to say the least.
  4. My guess is Peralta, Cortes, Civale, bullpen game, Patrick. The bullpen game would indeed by some combination of maybe Koenig as an opener (he did this last year), Alexander, Rodriguez, and Thomas. The Brewers pitching situation to start the year is frankly, very scary. Need Quintana, Myers, and Woody back asap. Those guys get ready by mid-May and the team isnt buried, we should be fine.
  5. I was there as well. It was a gorgeous evening in Phoenix. Beyond that. Yuck. Freddy was terrible.
  6. So Bauers and Monasterio make the team?
  7. Josh Hader is my Misiorowski comp. Dude was throwing 100 in the minors and the Brewers really really wanted him as a starter. They finally moved him to the pen and the guy turned into an elite closer. Not saying Misiorowski turns into Hader. Its just that the developement is starting to feel the same.
  8. Yes. Garcia was once upon a time a bigtime prospect with the Yankees. I saw him pitch a few weeks ago live against the Giants in Scottsdale. He pretty effortlessly dispatched 6 of the 7 batters he saw. If he puts it together at age 25 he could very easily be a "thing." Especially if the Brewers are a bit short or starters to begin the year.
  9. Spring training report here. I attended the game yesterday against the Giants in Scottsdale. Generally a stinker of a game. A couple positives to report: 1. Deivi Garcia was the positive of the game. Pitched two innings and made easy work of Giants minor leaguers late in the game. 2. Dunn and Durbin continue to hit the ball hard. There is clearly a battle for the 3b job.
  10. Frankly, Misiorowski looks a lot like Jacob DeGrom. He's a little taller than deGrom. But I still think there are enough similarities...
  11. The guy has a .404 minor league OBP (Elite). Add in speed, a good glove, and a tad bit of pop. I am just trying to figure out why the heck this guy was not on prospects lists. I guess because he has been a bit old for each level. He may not be a superstar, but I will take a Sal Frelick at 3b. Cheap, fast, good OBP.
  12. I highly doubt Durbin amounts to nothing. The guy has speed, a glove, and elite OBP skills. If even some of the OBP skills translate then he is a useful piece. Yankees fans are not thrilled with losing him.
  13. I think there is a very good shot Durbin is the starting 3b next year. The Brewers utilized Williams to fix the 3b hole. If Durbin is struggling mid-season, they you probably see Boeve or Wilkin get a shot.
  14. I love high OBP infield prospects with speed and a glove, so I'm a big fan of Durbin. Very surprised he really didny show up on any prospects list. Maybe his big AFL performance had not yet factored in. Getting a mid-rotation starter to boot is also nice.
  15. Its actually pretty cheap for a decent backup catcher.
  16. The current Brewers front office seems to place a really high value on defense. Bohm is a below average defender. He's also not cheap going into a year where the Brewers might be looking to cut the payroll. Thus, I just dont see Bohm as a good fit for this Brewers front office. The exception would be if they see him as a future DH. At that position his bat would be very average for a DH.
  17. Good riddance on Bauers. I was a bit bummed re Rob Zas. I figured Hoby would be gone and Jared Koenig and Zas would take that spot. I guess the roster crunch is pretty serious.
  18. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/11/colin-rea-clears-waivers-brewers-to-decline-club-option.html Apparently Rea cleared waivers. So not one other team wanted him for $5.5 million. I am surprised as $5.5 million seems light for a back end starter/long man. I am guessing there is stuff in the numbers suggesting a decline is coming.
  19. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/10/cubs-to-hire-quintin-berry-as-third-base-coach.html. Looks like the cubs are hiring Quintin Berry to be their third base coach. Bummer.
  20. Excellent post. This is all spot on. There is no way the Brewers should even consider engaging Adames. Frankly, if the Brewers intend to complete I dont think I would want to be locked in with Adames for more than 2 more years. Obviously, his deal is going to be much longer than 2 years.
  21. Looks like things are off to a great start. Hope everyone is enjoying their "bite of the apple." Mines a bit sour.
  22. Absolute meltdown. The "bite of the apple" strikes again.
  23. Mears doing his best to make this interesting.
  24. I had pretty much written off Weimer in 2023. Wish him the best but things dont look good for him. With his swing I felt he was either going to be Hunter Pence 2.0 or a complete bum.
