  1. The end of the season? That is something to look forward to.
  2. Good job Brewers, can’t even do the basics and back up a base.
  3. You know what helps a bad offense? Making outs on the bases.
  4. He throw six different pitches or something.
  5. Swing at a 3-0 pitch, did nothing, and then watched a 3-2 strike. Honestly embarrassing to watch.
  6. There is no reason to have any business handing a bunch of money to a reliever that far from FA.
  7. Devin Williams is likely going to help making trading Hader easier...which I do think is somewhat possible/probable this offseason. Don’t see any chance of a return to starting for him.
  8. His control isn’t woefully better today. Strikeout #2 was closer to hitting the guy than being in the strike zone.
  9. Orlando Arcia for the biggest AB of the game. Is Woodruff not available?
  10. The thing with Peralta is every time he seems like he is just going up there and just throwing with zero care where it ends up near the strike zone. Many times he is fooling guys, but when he isn’t his mistakes get smashed. Maybe he can get away as a reliever doing that, but he can’t go 6 innings like that consistently.
  11. I think he will turn into a solid reliever to maybe a great one...but starter? Yah, doubt it.
  12. Way to miss a meatball 3-2 pitch Smoak and then proceed to ground into a DP. Junk
  13. I really don’t care about this move either way. I think we suck so I’m not losing sleep over us being worse. He had an option for next year, but I can’t see next years team being all that intriguing either. As for the prospects? Guess we will see. Adds upside to the farm in the form of three guys...not bad for a relief pitcher. Freddy Peralta was once a minor addition to a trade back when he was being average in the rookie league.
  14. It’s the trade deadline, Stearns is probably on the phone every 5 minutes. I can’t imagine the Brewers would trade Hader for less than say Abrams/Patino/+. Andrew Miller got what was about the #15 and #75 prospect in the game along with two other pitchers. Hader is younger (by a lot), controlled longer, and just as elite as Miller was.
  15. Based on the rumored asking price, I think that's likely accurate. The Padres certainly have the ammo to build a fantastic package with Gore as the centerpiece to get a deal done. I dont know enough about prospects but do we have reason to believe the Padres would entertain trading Gore plus for Hader. I have read on Gore this morning and would love to have him. On a side note the Padres would really be dangerous on paper with Hader on their team. Cubs once traded Gleyber Torres for a few months of Aroldis Chapman. So anything is possible when the chance at a World Series title is imminent. Josh Hader is huge, especially in the postseason. I wouldn’t go buying a Gore jersey expecting them to get him, but it’s within reason to want Gore in return.
  16. Well if Hader does get traded it would probably require Gore and Campusano/Patino...plus some lower value guys. I suppose a deal around Abrams is possible in theory, but I’m guessing Gore is pretty much a requirement for anything to happen.
  17. Quantrill was in their bullpen I believe...so they just weakened that a touch. I don’t think one big move means you won’t make another one...especially long term pieces. Clevinger and Hader are both controllable pieces. Much like when we got Yelich there is never a bad time to blow up the farm for controllable talent. The Padres still have plenty of talent in the farm system to get Hader and STILL have a solid farm system after that...they are pretty stacked. With that being said I have a 1% confidence rate we will trade Hader today.
  18. A significant part of my disappointment with Woodruff has been his inability to get deeper into games. I want my best starter to go more than 5 innings, and he hasn’t been able to do that often enough. Going deep into a game is essentially an impossible task when Craig Counsell is your manager.
