    Looks like the seahawks preempting Packers coverage for me is a blessing today unless they can turn it around. Still irritating, Packers seem to coincide with Seattle more often than not.

    Thank you so much for the reminder! I'd cancelled them once after my scrip ran out and Sammon was gone, they enticed me back with a large discount. That thing was about to annual renew in 5 days before I killed it just now. Back to the topic at hand. Cubs' mode of thinking is "If you can't beat 'em, hire 'em"

    I saw that too. It made me wonder what the going rate is for a first base coach, how much Berry figures to earn next year vs what the Brewers are prepared to offer. Berry seems like a guy you'd want to try and keep but I realize there's only so much money that can be dedicated to a first base coach. Or perhaps Berry has his eye on moving on towards a bench coach type of position somewhere, who knows.

    The Brewers were the only MLB team I didn't see at Lidz in Anchorage. Hell, they even had 4 varieties of Pirates hat. Had an Expos hat and they've been out of Montreal for like 20 years. Surprisingly, they did only have one cub hat. Still that's one too many of those things in my opinion. Anecdotally, in '18 during the NLCS vs LAD, I was in ANC and watched one of the games at the Peanut Farm while waiting to pick someone up at the airport. There was a lot of Brewers gear being worn in the place that night.

    This past Thursday I was in anchorage with some time to kill so I walked around a mall on the south side of town. I went into a store called Lidz which sells hats and team apparel. Just to see what they had for the Brewers. They had walls covered with hats floor to ceiling. Zero Brewers hats. They even had a Montreal Expos hat for sale but zero Brewers and they weren’t just sold out either. Contrast that with Yankees and Dodgers, they had a couple dozen varieties of hat for each of them. Read into that whatever you will.

    Remember, Frelick's only 24. He's been sub .700 OPS thus far in his career. Doesn't mean it's going to stay that way for him. You don't have to squint hard to envision the avg and xbh climbing for Sal in years to come.

    I'm curious whether there's any possibility of the Brewers re-exploring the possibility of Frelick at 3B. I'm on neither side of that fence as I have no clue how viable he is at the position. But if he CAN play it well in 2025 that would potentially solve some things.

    I guess I have to go ahead and disagree with this a bit. Because I remember watching our neighbors win 2 World Series in my lifetime, whereas I'm not especially optimistic the Brewers will have won one by the time I'm done sucking air. I'm well past halfway done doing so already.
