  1. These posts compelled me to read up and learn about skyline chili. It sounds and looks like something you'd regret eating once it's down the hatch, but I'd try it. What struck me as weird was reading about how rigid the locals are about eating their pseudo-chili the "right" way. A pound of cheap cheese must be on top. Oyster crackers are the only cracker allowed. Must be eaten with a fork only and whatever you do don't twirl the spaghetti noodles on your fork unless you want a fight. Whatever. It's like the Chicago lunatics who consider it sacrilege to put ketchup onto something that is made from pureed miscellaneous scraps, guts, snouts and butts.
  2. Personally, I am hoping for the Urias/Arcia/Robertson mix at ss/3b. Turner is a great player but he's 36 and would almost certainly require a 3 year deal to come to Milwaukee. Conservatively, my opinion is that Turner would probably be a little better than the Urias/Robertson platoon in 2021, a little worse in 2022 and an obvious and painful shortfall by 2023. I wouldn't predict it, but I could even imagine Urias straight up outperforming Turner as soon as 2021. Urias definitely has the potential to shine. Turner's got his age working against him, and he just got his championship. It's possible he may not be as hungry and driven once he came to the Brewers.
  3. I’m not banking on it, but I’m also not ruling out the possibility that Hiura could become pretty good at playing 1B.
  4. Aside from his vs LHP/RHP splits, Wong is remarkably consistent across the other variables shown in his splits on b-ref.
  5. I know one thing, I wish Taylor had paid attention to the splits in 2000 when he signed Hammonds.
  6. Greatest RR ever had to be 92. Flair win and Heenan on the mic. Heenan was always great but that day was something else.
  7. The famous road splits, the fact that he will soon be 30, and of course my burning card hatred makes me hope this will be a giant waste of money for the cards.
  8. I made it through the holidays without fattening up too bad despite a couple weeks of only 1x/week fasting and minimal exercise due to a couple injuries. Have been back to 2x/week 24 hour fasts and regular moderate exercise. Weight loss seems to have stalled for the past month, although I cannot rule out that some fat is being replaced with muscle, as I have gradually been ramping up strength training. One little victory came yesterday. My girlfriend got me a new belt for Christmas 2 or 3 years ago but she got the wrong size, I couldn't put it on. Yesterday I wore it for the first time, and used the 3rd hole on it.
  9. I think a lot of people forget a heck of a lot of things when they talk about Favre and instead base their point of view off looking at his stats on pro football reference. There is a ton of context lost. People love to talk about interceptions and yes he threw quite a few. And some of them really did stink. But I think you also have to consider the amount of receiver dropped/tipped interceptions, the amount of picks where the receiver was new or inexperienced in GB's system and ran the wrong route. There was plenty of that. Also, just in general there were more interceptions league wide back then too. For example in '19 in the NFL there were 797 TD passes and 410 INTs. Back up 20 years to '99 and it's 665 TDs 562 INTs. If Favre wasn't that good, try on the Mark Brunell experience. Brunell, a very competent and average to above average QB of the same era. How many wins and playoff appearances do you suppose would GB have had over that time with Mark Brunell as their starting quarterback?

  11. There have been a few I've intended to contribute to here for a family covering funeral expenses for an unexpected death. However when I clicked and looked at it they have already been way above their goal due to the enormous outpouring of support and generosity. That leads to a dilemma and ultimately I decided not to contribute. It didn't feel right, but neither decision would feel right.
  12. That almost looked like he dropped the pick on purpose it was such a stone hands play. And it cost us.
  13. Yup total clunker of a game. Let’s hope it serves as a good learning/motivating experience.
  14. Yeah so far but that could change fast.
  15. I guess I don’t understand the rules on that play. I get it if they think he stuck his leg out after the shot trying to draw a foul they don’t give him the foul. But why doesn’t the basket count?
  16. Finally a game I can watch. Let’s go Badgers!
  17. So it would appear Toronto is now going to have a $10.3 mil/year 4th OF for the next 3 years in Grichuk. And potentially adding Brantley to be a 5th OF/2nd DH as well. If I were a Blue Jay fan, which I clearly am not, I would want them to spend money on pitching instead.
  18. I do at home with frozen pizzas. Just a dollop here and there to make it interesting. Not uniformly. Unless the crust is big and dryish, then I'll do a side of ranch for the crust and put some hot sauce on the ranch. Hot sauces I like for pizza are: (from mildest to hottest, the list goes) green Tabasco, Secret Aardvark, Famous Dave's Wilbur's Revenge. Also, if I make a frozen pizza at home I pretty much always add jalapeños and onions.
  19. I do realize you specified NFC. Then I wondered, what NFL teams are closest to being in as many conference championship games in the last 25 years as Brady?
  20. I've seen various parts of this throughout the years and I believe it's time to own it, maybe watch it with Dad. I also noticed When It Was A Game, which I have not seen at all. Seems overpriced on Amazon, does anyone have recommendations on this HBO feature?
  21. I would have liked to have seen how the game plays out had the illegal hit on the touchback play been called.
  22. I’m pretty excited about Elon Musk’s new polar orbit starlink. When our cable/internet/cellular provider finally has competition (and should be much better overall, too) it will finally be feasible for me to cut the cord. I am looking forward to when the time comes.
  23. Mvs play was yuge. Imagine how deflating the 3rd conversion was for RamsFan.
