  1. [sarcasm]They fix the cable?[/sarcasm]
  2. Thanks for the heads up I’ll have to flop back and forth. Simply because I enjoy watching seattle lose.
  3. I happened to turn it on last night and so glad I did.
  4. I think it's time, as a collective society, to unanimously high beam any oncoming drivers who have xenon or other insanely bright headlights. Not just a flash of the brights. Leave them on, since that's what they're doing to everyone else the entire time they drive in the dark with those things.
  5. I cannot imagine any scenario where I would willingly allow Alexa into my place of residence.
  6. I wonder how many brand new products per year get smashed to pieces by a fed up owner before ever serving any useful function.
  7. I'm not elderly, just mid 40s. But it's starting to get to the point where I feel elderly whenever I'm trying to set up and use some new piece of tech. It seems like most things anymore just come with a sleek little slip of paper with a couple pictures with arrows pointing to things so that your directions are basically plug it in or turn it on. Then when you get stuck you get to become a detective and internet sleuth, in case you have nothing better to do with your hours. It is pretty maddening for me sometimes, I'm sure much moreso for folks a generation or more behind me.
  8. Thanks nate82, that was pretty informative. They didn't really touch on my dilemma regarding wifi, and that's always tough for me when dealing with products, as most seem to go with the assumption of unlimited and fast wifi everywhere. The product looks very cool aside from the whole facebook thing. Has anyone here gotten one and care to chime in thoughts?
  9. I'm considering ordering the oculus quest 2 I have been seeing all this hype about. I've been wanting to get some kind of VR system for a long time and the quest 2 seems like it would get me in at a much lower price point than getting the whole PSVR system. I haven't had much luck figuring out if it's a viable system for offline use. I realize some games where you play with other people you'd need to be online for sure, but what about the rest? I could take it to work and install games and updates as needed no problem, we have a big pipe there. At home is a different story, I get 30gb/month so I don't even bother with wifi, just ethernet into the laptop. Also, do you have to be signed into facebook on the thing in order to play?
  10. I mean I guess it was a legal hit as he didn’t hit him in the head nor lead with the helmet? There certainly wasn’t anything Lazard could do to avoid taking that shot though. Edit: he changed to Lazard
  11. Wow Tyreek Hill. How will chris carpenter explain that back flip to his son?
  12. I hope the Brewers have a really good handle on what they think Knebel is going to be in 2021 performance-wise. He was showing good signs of starting to find it at the end of 2020. If they think that's real, and he can get back to 2017-18 form, I hope they go ahead and keep him. Despite money being tight, he would be very valuable to having an amazing pen and would seem to have in-season trade value as well. I know you're not supposed to be pot committed but I loathe the thought of paying him over 19-20 for the little production he had in 2020, and then not paying him again in 2020 when he's right again. The thing that troubles me most with this offseason is just having zero idea what financially is in the team's wheelhouse or to what notch they figure to tighten the belt.
  13. But it'll seem like 5 years.
  14. This is about what I expect any time they have to go to chicago. It is a house of horrors. Remember 2000 amid the shoebox ordeal? Holy crap. Totally ruined the season with that high of goals and roster and soiling the bed in the big ten opener. Heck there’s been some doozies in Madison too. 96 Alvarez not having the sense to have Samuel kneel, I could tell an incredible story about that day. My Dad was just telling me they’ve been favored vs NW 26x in a row, are 14-12 in that span. I’m not a gambler but I think I should start taking out curse bets on nw vs Wisconsin.
  15. It also gives the impression that nypd plays with M80s or is careless with power tools or something. It's a ripoff, and also a stupid looking ripoff.
  16. You’re thinking McClain era. The only bowl they were eligible for under Morton was the Tidy Bowl.
  17. Yep. Nothing makes you feel older than when players you watched when you weren't that young now have kids playing as adults. I went and checked to see how old Prince Fielder's kids were....the eldest is 16. His younger son is 6-2 and 230 lbs. at 14 years old. I'm gonna go ahead right now and predict that he will hit 319 MLB home runs.
  18. CheezWizHed, what is the trick to getting the sale price? There's a 1/2 price sale going on but it's full price at the checkout.
  19. I never saw it mentioned here, but I believe the last play of last year's WC game was the very first E of Grisham's MLB career.
  20. Out here they quit making phone books about 7 years ago I believe. I’ve heard similar tales about the phone zoom trick. Speaking of which I’ve been considering how to get a set of readers when I’m unable to get anywhere to try them out and see what works for me. I mean, in theory that is.
  21. That was a horrible move the second it happened. When he gave up the single I thought, this would be a good time to get somebody warming up in case he gets in trouble. To yank him was asinine. I really wish we could have seen how game 7 would have played out, especially with Turner popping positive and so on.
  22. Not often, but occasionally I cannot find what I am searching for online and I find myself wishing they still made actual phone books.
  23. I weighed in yesterday. So far, I have dropped 5 lbs with regular moderate exercise over 5 months, and another 8 lbs over the last 6 weeks doing a 24 hour or so fast once or twice per week. Now I realize weight isn’t everything. Certainly over the first 5 months muscle had to be increased which would offset some changes on weight. But it’d really stalled for 2 months and I’m pretty certain I wouldn’t have lost much fat these past 6 weeks without the fasting. And it really isn’t even hard to do. Your mileage may vary. My plan is to keep at it 2x per week until I’m down at least another 5 lbs and past the holidays and then probably go back to once per week simply because I love breakfast.
