  1. He plays solid D wherever he’s moved so there’s no reason to think he would do the same at 3B. From the Royals perspective, I don’t see why they wouldn’t trade a guy now in his 30s, who will net a good return, when they’re not close to contending. Instead of needing the be overwhelmed, just be whelmed and get some good young players back. That said, I don’t think it’s be the brewers who could provide that.
  2. I actually think the return For Arenado wouldn’t be that great. Like Stanton with the Marlins, the big contract with player opt out gives all risk to the team.
  3. No way is the main 3B currently on the roster. I would like to see a middle of the order bat and hopes for Donaldson, Bryant, or Arenado are slim. I do think it will come from a trade though, and here’s who I’d target: Corey Seager/Justin turner (especially if they get Lindor), Jeff McNeil, Yuli Gurriel, Andujar/urshela, Brian Anderson, Hunter dozier (Royals are signing Michael Franco). There are plenty of options with a little creativity
  4. Then they’ll sign Smoak or Moreland, or trade for Dom Smith. I also think they should bring back Thames, but it’s not like it’s Thames or nothing.
  5. I don’t think I’d want Lowrie back if it’s Smith and McNeil. If want a lottery ticket arm if we are going after those two. The Mets night also want Lowrie for 3B if they trade McNeil. So maybe a Diaz makes sense (also as a replacement for Hader in MIL)
  6. As a brewer fan I hope Hernan plays a lot
  7. Shaw said he wants a change of scenery
  8. That trade would make sense, as much as losing Hader would hurt. They’d have to move on a good reliever or 2, like Betances and Cishek , but that lineup would be solid
  9. I like your Thames idea, as I've been thinking the same thing - would be a great platoon option with Braun at 1B. However, I cannot imagine the Dodgers ever doing that trade for Knebel. Nobody knows how healthy Knebel will be this season, and it's already being reported that he likely won't be back until May sometime (and that might be the earliest). And, even a healthy Knebel wouldn't be able to bring back Turner and Seager. In fact, I doubt a healthy Knebel could even bring back one of those guys. Erceg is basically a non-prospect at this point - so adding him into the deal isn't going to help at all. Yeah that isn’t even close for the Dodgers. You’d have to add Urias to start negotiations. I do like the idea of getting Turner or Seager If the dodgers get someone like Lindor though
  10. -I like Andujar as a split between 1B/3B. And he’s sort of been supplanted by urshela in NY. -There’s also room to take jed Lowried salary (and maybe get Dom Smith with him). - My preference is Josh Donaldson, big a creative and productive platoon at 3B might be Brock Holt and Wilmer Flores. -Pit wouldn’t likely want much for Colin Moran because he’s mediocre and they have their high ranked prospect Hayes almost ready. But he’s be cheap
  11. Any of the FA available right now would get you about the same value as Bell and won't cost a prospect. There is also Smith from the Mets who could give you similar production. Thames a FA would give you about the same production as Bell at 1B. Encarnacion is another who could give you similar production at 1B. Smoak is another player who can give you similar production. All of these players minus Smith won't cost a prospect and can be had for a similar dollar amount as Bell. If you want to go further the cost per production is in favor of the FA over a trade for Bell. How do you determine production? Bell is easily the best option of those. 143 OPS+ for bell
  12. So you have: Cain Hiura Yelich XXX Narvaez and you don't think Braun or Garcia are good enough for that spot? I'm hoping it's Cain Yelich Hiura Thames/Braun Garcia Narvaez 1-6 and I don't see how a RHB is missing in the middle unless Braun is hurt. Sure Braun can hit 4th, for the 110 starts he gets if healthy and if he doesn’t drop off too much. I’m also not sure about Cain returning to pre-2019 form (I’d actually lead off Thames assuming he comes back vs rhp). So let’s say they sign Todd Frazier for 3B. With Braun sitting quite a bit especially, that’s a lot of mediocrity in the lower half of the lineup for me.
  13. I get you’re determined to trade lutz but this isn’t even close
  14. Just between Yelich and Narvaez in the 4 slot. The more I think about it, andujar makes a lot of sense. He, Braun, and Narvaez could split 1B with BBC andujar splitting 3b with a utility option. Brock holt makes sense for That
  15. I think they need a middle of the order RHB. They have enough mediocre righties. Unfortunately, Donaldson and Nolan Arenado are the only available possibilities for that so it’s unlikely to happen. Andujar if they feel he can stick at 3B or split between 1B/3B. Maybe that big bat comes at 1B, though it’s less likely now with Braun having to play there some now. Josh bell would still make some sense to me
  16. It goes against what I’d traditionally think, but I’d actually be willing to do 4/95 for Donaldson. 3B/power RHB is the most glaring need, the $ and competitive window fit. And donaldsons bet andnglovr are both aging well and I think still will. 1B is also open as if now I’d that move had to be made in a couple years
  17. If he puts up an .849 OPS... how does that play at third? Crew signs Thames to handle first... ss: Urias 2b: Hiura lf: Yelich rf: Garcia 1b: Thames 3b: Braun c: Narvaez cf: Cain pitcher Just saying... it's an option. No it’s not. Have you been playing backyard baseball and confusing it with real life again? I pulled it off with Sammy Sosa back in the day
  18. Can you imagine the difference in a 1 year commitment with lots of money available ?
  19. Breaking News: The Brewers will not be signing someone major. Ooh breaking news! Source?
  20. He just makes so much sense in my mind. They could use a 3B, a righty bat behind Yelich, and his contract will fit the competitive window well
  21. While I hope the brewers do get a legit pitcher (Ryu, keuchel, etc) for the top part of the rotation, I really didn’t want it to be madbum. The guy is a tool so I wouldn’t like to root for him
  22. Based on the return, doesn’t this option seem likely? Quite possibly, but unless the brewers actually use the money the have available, it wouldn’t make sense to pass. The reward is higher than the risk imo
  23. No, he's a fan pitching target: recognizable name who WAS good but probably won't be going forward. No, he’s a pitcher who was hurt last year but was elite for years before then and is affordable. Unless his health is worse than is publicly known, or the Brewers actually sign a good pitcher, this was a missed opportunity. They have plenty of money and could use a top starter
  24. He isn’t really a brewers pitching target: he’s good
  25. What did Tristan lutz do to you? I think this is the 73rd proposal that involves trading him you’ve posted
