  1. Gosh, Hurdle sounds more like Yost than Yost with that lunch pail comment.
  2. It's definitely something to keep an eye on. As of right now, Ben Sheets and CC Sabathia are #1 and 2 in all of baseball in pitcher abuse points. Now that may be a bit misleading in the case of Sheets, because many of his starts came with an extra day's rest, but if I'm the Brewers I'm dialing back those workloads, particularly for Sheets. If Ben gets injured before season's end, the whole trade will be a bust.
  3. In the case of Hart, it actually will affect his price. Arbitration uses arbitrary (ha, get it?) factors like RBI, All-Star appearances to determine pay.
  4. Of course the coddling is only seen publicly. Who knows what Ned actually thinks/says to his players... Same with the other players besides Braun.
  5. Other things that "seem" true are: The Brewers make more outs on the bases than most teams, and opposing pitchers seem to get hits at a higher-than-average rate. I wonder how many of these things are actually true.
  6. I don't think this sucks at all. He was going to pitch an inning or two anyway, so the fact that it's at the start of the game is cool to me.
  7. I'll throw out another observation that I have, although it is just an observation. It seems to me, in general, the Brewers tend to struggle more with soft-tossers than most teams. This may speak to their overall lack of patience and discipline as a team. Most of the younger hitters seem to crush fastballs more than most players and struggle against off-speed pitches more than most. Would probably be tough to prove or disprove this though...
  8. I think it would be hilarious to see the Cubs draw Arizona again. Webb and Haren in a 5 game series=Early exit for the Cubbies.
  9. After the Cubs series at the end of July, the Brewers play the Braves, Reds, Nats, Padres, Dodgers, Astros and Pirates before facing the Cardinals again. That seems like a perfect time to skip a few of Parra's starts and still have him in the rotation for all the Cubs and Cards series.

  11. Just when I'm about to give up on Dave Bush, he reminds me why I like him.
  12. Prince triple!? Wow, what happened?
  13. Hit hit walk hit walk hit. I like it.
  14. Let's bust this open a bit Rickie. Heyo!
  15. Ugh. This defense still makes me want to cry.
  16. Let's not give Hawpe much to hit here... Nice!
  17. Sigh for a bad start. Taveras stinks.
  18. Wow, that 3D MLB Gameday is pretty cool. Is that like brand new? Or have I not noticed it somehow?
  19. That was my point. It should have been in blue. I don't get how, first, a journalist does that, then, an editor doesn't catch it.
  20. Not zero percent, so what's your point?
  21. From today's JS: "Chicago followed the Brewers' acquisition of Sabathia by trading for Oakland ace Dan Haren but Yost said he gave no thought to that tit-for-tat." Harden AND Haren? The Brewers are screwed.
