  1. I kind of hope the Cubs deal for Wolf, Maddux or Burnett and give up some solid prospects for someone who is a marginal upgrade.
  2. Marte would be cool with me. He's having a very nice season, and I really wanted him last year.
  3. Oh man. Free shirts would be sweet. I'm in 207, I believe. Got the tickets yesterday.
  4. I prefer Something Corporate. I'm not a big fan of JM. Thought the rumor for a long time was that this was just a side project and he was getting Something Corporate back together? So much for that.
  5. Josh Vitters is probably their highest rated hitter, but he's a long ways away. I don't see how the Cubs can make much of an offer, to be honest.

  8. Haven't voted yet, but if I do I won't be able to do any more than split votes between Hart and Burrell and keep a clear conscience, but that's just me.
  9. Stevo wrote: It would be nice if the Brewers could convince Suppan his arm is tired and DL him out for a few weeks. From another thread, like 15 minutes ago. Not to gloat, but I rule. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. Ha! How people come up with some stuff, I'll never know. Very nice.
  11. We should really be hoping for the A's to close in this week, because they're close to the point where Beane might pull the plug on the season. Six games out is fairly significant.
  12. If he pitches his career average the rest of the season, they could probably do it, but they might have to pay some cash. If the Brewers make the playoffs and Suppan again has success, they could trade him easily I'd think.
  13. If Harden is healthy, he's probably as good as C.C., if not better. Of course, that if should be in like size 200 font.
  14. So Hardy WAS in the trade after all.
  15. It would be nice if the Brewers could convince Suppan his arm is tired and DL him out for a few weeks.
  16. Parra has never thrown more than 139 innings in a season, and that was a few years ago. I'm not comfortable at all with him going more than 170, and I'd prefer it to be less. The Brewers should get creative with him in the second half.
  17. I don't agree with the idea that luck evens out over the course of a season. I think that's mainly something Bill says when Prince drops a pop up double down the line. The Diamondbacks were lucky all of last season and it never caught up with them. FtJ also mentioned Weeks while clearing his throat, and I'm assuming he was implying that Weeks can't use luck as an excuse anymore? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif However, I disagree because Rickie's BABIP is still way, way below his career average.
  18. There's no dote that trotting CC SaBaythia ote every four days is huge, and that. I love it. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. I'd have some interest in Scott and Sherrill. I'd rather not go after Roberts because of what he'd demand in return.
  20. I can just see Bootspur Hurdle looking over the final candidates... "Hm, well Hamels and Burrell sure are having great years. But we swept the Phillies! Shoot."
  21. I expect Sabathia to get a gigantic offer. I think the Brewers could get Sheets for 5 years/90 mil or 5 years/100 mil if that fifth year is an option. I'd be inclinded to sign him for that, but not for any more. The Brewers need to ease off Ben's workload quickly, though. They're really playing with fire this season.
  22. Heh. Yeah, yeah. I just really liked LaPorta's power/patience combo. The Brewers really lack patience and OBP, and trading away LaPorta doesn't help at all. I think he'll have the higher OBP than Gamel because he's doing it now with a sustainable batting average, unlike Gamel.
  23. This is exciting to be sure, but I just don't like it very much. I would have preferred getting one of the next-tier SPs and keep LaPorta. I think the Brewers should have received a pitcher with a few years left on his deal for LaPorta. I agree with those who were saying the Brewers already had a good shot at the playoffs. Now they absolutely have to make it, or this will be a terrible trade. Of course, how against it can I truly be when I'm scrambling to find people to go to the game on Tuesday?
  24. Clint Hurdle is a moron. How can he not choose Pat Burrell?
  25. I know what you mean, and I'm not just trying to argue semantics, but all you need to do is make the playoffs and you have a chance to win the whole thing. Sheets-C.C. sure does stack up well in the playoffs, but I think the Brewers will make the playoffs with or without him. I'd rather not give up a huge piece when that's the case.
