  1. Way to take advantage of that schedule. Going 3-4 against two last place teams in August is gross.
  2. Don't be so sure about the front office infrastructure since we have no idea who will be back next season as Stearns will surely be plucking quite a few of our executives.
  3. Sal needs to be in there just about every day.
  4. Arnold forgot to mention that we have a run prevention offense to go along with the pitching and defense.
  5. To be fair its not easy coming back against such a dominant pitching staff. Its not like we are facing a last place team... oh we are facing a last place team.
  6. So unless we rally in the 9th we will have to salvage a split at home against Pittsburgh after losing 2 of 3 in Washington. Lucky this division sucks because we just aren't good at all.
  7. This offense is beyond embarrassing.
  8. Almost every lineup in baseball is better than ours 1-9.
  9. I've seen about enough of Chafin not throwing strikes.
  10. So is scoring one run on garbage pitching.
  11. Haven't you heard its all about run prevention scoring is so old school.
  12. Even if we weren't a low payroll team I still wouldn't want to pay Burnes the type of money he will command in free agency.
  13. Good thing we have this schedule advantage.
  14. Doesn't get more pitiful than going 0-2 in Burnes starts over a week against two last place teams.
  15. It would be nice to have some power in the lineup so we don't need three hits in an inning to score.
  16. Out of all the young outfielders I would be most in favor of moving Wiemer. Yes the defense is great but that bat will never play. Frelick and Mitchell both have better futures at least in Mitchells case if he can get over the injuries.
  17. The crazy thing is we had all this great pitching yet continuously did little to nothing to improve the offense. In other words we wasted the best pitching in the history of the franchise by putting together the worst offense among the contending teams.
  18. If the Brewers were ever to call up Hiura it would blow their chances at winning the gold glove at DH.
  19. Santana C. He's not terrible but far from a real difference maker. Canha D Just another below average bat for a lineup already full of them Chafin B He's probably better than Strz but who knows how he will perform down the stretch and I see no reason why we would keep him past this season Urias D He was a solid performer for us last season and on a team with a lack of bats he should have been given more of a chance instead of banking on Turang and Monestario McKendry incomplete probably a nothing for nothing kind of deal but maybe there is some upside there Overall grade C- good that they didn't trade any top prospects but I would have preferred to see them get a haul for Burnes.
  20. Just for the record I think Cohen should be targeting John Hart or Jeff Luhnow instead of Stearns but its been clear for quite awhile that Stearns is his guy.
  21. Have you watched not only how much Cohen has spent on his payroll but the money he gave away in these deadline deals to buy prospects? Its not unrealistic to think he will be paying big money to his front office personnel. If you havent been paying attention to other sports the contracts given to coaches and executives is going through the roof. Look at the money college football coaches are receiving or check out how much Denver paid Sean Payton. It is easy to see how Cohen who is twice as wealthy as any other baseball owner and has willingly given other teams money in both the Verlander and Scherzer deals along with even paying the rest of the Canha contract for this season would give Stearns and the rest of his executives staggering amounts of money.
  22. This team should have no interest in paying anywhere near market prices for Adames.
