  1. I really liked JC Romero, but I don't think the Brewers wanted 2 loogys, but they'd love a true LH relief guy who could get any hitter out. Come late July, I expect Doug to add a LH arm for the 'pen.
  2. They have never mentioned Gross as a possible platoon guy, in fact, he is mentioned more with Nix and Gwynn than the top 4.
  3. I see no way Ben H would decide to go to AAA with the Brewers. If he's not claimed on waivers, he can pitch AAA for any of the other 29 teams, and I'm sure he will choose to become a free agent.
  4. He's also from Menasha, right next to Apple-ton
  5. Heck, if we're going to trade with BOS, I'd say Hinske would be a target...only if Koskie officially cannot go, of course.
  6. Geno, my mom passed away after complications from "routine" surgery, so while it may have been non-life threatening, it still involves slicing and cutting and closing. Good to hear you're back at work. FYI, I purposely avoided telling you this before you had surgery.
  7. The one comment wonders why Bud doesn't do more to keep them in the state...guess he doesn't know the minors are a separate entity.
  8. Ben has been almost as effective as any AAA starter who has not got many big league starts. He could well have some value as a reliever as well. There seems little way he would ever clear waivers, and might be claimed by 5-10 teams, depending on when waivers would be asked. I think he may well be packaged like Krynzel was, as an addition to a deal, but make little mistake, there's a market for guys like Ben. Right now though, you're not going to get much for him.
  9. Bell isn't a bad option for a stopgap at all, I would say he might match Graffy's offense, and Bell certainly seemed to be a plus defender. Considering Braun appears 3 months to a year away, Bell, or someone like Bell, may be what we see, should Corey not be able to go. As for the original post, it contains so many inaccuracies, I'm not going to dignify it by trying to correct them all.
  10. I'd say a total of about 20-25 minutes of war action, mostly in one 10 minute clip, then several 2-3 minute ones.
  11. His conditioning is lacking, so that could be one sign. There have been some unofficial reports on here about him drinking late at night before day games as well. That's fine of course...if you win.
  12. It's no Private Ryan, but it's mighty good.
  13. Pogo is correct about the waivers thing. However, for the price of a waiver claim, well worth it. He might even have options, who can tell? AJHAWK, where is that link from?
  14. Hey, I suggested that a few days ago. That's a nice pickup for free, excellent low cost option who should start the year at AAA.
  15. I certainly assume Mench would have been offered arby regardless. The only reason you wouldn't is if he had no trade value.
  16. Quinlan deserves better, that's for sure. I don't think the Angels thought much of him, and he had to prove himself at every level. Not sure of any interest in Jenkins, however. Doug may well look for a Quinlan "type" if Koskie cannot go, an extra utility player who can hit a bit.
  17. Minor surgery only happens to other people. Best of luck, Geno.
  18. Looks like the Brewers are openly embracing the indy leagues. Hopefully, they see this as an underscouted area, and not as a cheap way to fill rosters.
  19. I recently watched Employee of the Month, and was pleasantly surprised. Certainly not going to replace Airplane on any top ten list, but it was a nice watch. It followed the formula you'd expect, and had a nice supporting cast, Andy Dick was especially humorous. The biggest laugh comes from the break room the "slackers" created in amongst the storage racks. A pair of others came when the manager says "Remember, no more than 25 people in line", and my favorite was when the elderly greeter says hi to the touring district manager, and the DM (played by the little person who was Kramer's friend on Seinfeld) returns the greeting, then while walking away, tells one of his yes men "Get someone older"! So, in closing, you can file it under "It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be".
  20. I'd hesitate to give up ZachJack in anything but a deal designed to put us over the top as well. He's still very young, and has plenty of upside.
  21. Why would we want to platoon Corey? He's already better than Crisp.
  22. If it's the same Judge movie, the studio said "what a piece of crap" and did not release it. Judge told them to allow him to market it elsewhere, they agreed. Judge presented it to others, and they said..."what a piece of crap". Actually, I believe the word is the film was not marketable, not necessarily horrible.
  23. Yep, he's in for sure.
