  1. He always has had a very high GB%, if memory serves. The Crew was rujmored to have interest in him years ago, I recall. Nice AAA depth signing.
  2. Backup or AAA. He married extremely well.
  3. He'd get a deal for $2M, maybe more if a team was convinced an injury played a part.
  4. Rapids is a strange place for a team, as it is a rather "old" town which has really suffered from the paper mills closing. I'm not sure how they expect to compete with Green Bay, Eau Claire, Madison, and so on.
  5. I thought Hall was fine in CF, especially after the first month or so. You'll also find lots of people go by stuff like "getting turned around", but that is meaningless if they catch the ball.
  6. Cappy may well start in relief, though I suppose he can go 2-3 innings while starting just as easily.
  7. Suppan will be given every chance to fail. 2011? They'll do whatever they can to win in '10. Mike Burns will likely be in AAA for depth. Cody or Jones might well start in AA.
  8. Suppan also struggled before he was DL'd. He did not have his best year, but was far from bad for much of the year.
  9. I am all but positive Maymon will have to sit out a year and then be eligible 2nd semester, which would be January 2011. That's assuming he's eligible...the timing would indicate he knew he was done. I think NW has relaxed standards a bit for athletes, I think Barnett discussed this in his book.
  10. Byrnes still has value as a platoon player, but in no way is that as valuable as a SP with a 5 ERA.
  11. I seem to be the only one who thinks trading 18 years of prospects for a single year of Lee will come back to haunt them...in fact, if not for the comp picks, I'd really hate it. Those are 3 solid, high ceiling kids, all 21, and have performed admirably despite being young for their level. I also wonder if Lee's wins will push them to 90...they have some more additions to make.
  12. I thought Smith had to be outrighted last year, so I assumed he had none. Seems I was wrong...but still correct.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. Doug's last SP pickup may well end up in the bullpen, so it won't be a guy who hasn't relieved in a decade. A swingman type, like Morrow, is exactly what he'll look for.
  14. Narveson has to have a spot locked up after his success starting, and Doug's mentioning of him as a 6th starter.
  15. I'd go with the card then.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. Morrow is a young hard thrower who has yet to put it all together. He's nothing like Yo, more like a Parra/McClung guy who has flamed out a bit. I'd love to add him, but he's no Yo.
  17. I gotta agree they need another arm before Suppan's 200 innings can be dealt. They can't afford to add another arm if they don't save salary in that swap. No way Burns' types can be expected to give you 190 frames at a 5ish ERA.
  18. Everyone hits in winterball, the pitching is AA level at best.
  19. My mistake, neither of ours have Windows 7. Casey, no one will talk to us because our router is out of warranty.
  20. Pierre's defense makes him a negative impact, by far. He allows most all runners to go 1B-3B, which adds up over 162.
  21. Even Chone shows 72 runs saved, which is 7 wins, which is 87 wins. Improved pitching makes this team a contender.
  22. I doubt he'll be 100% by March. Midseason seems more likely.
  23. I much prefer Lackey and Cameron to Holliday, as Lackey pitches instead of your now 6th best SP. That said, I'd go with Nick Johnson at 1B and spend money on the bullpen. BOS does not have the prospects left to be shipping 3-4 for Adrian G. Cameron should play CF, as he has a far better arm, but you never know.
  24. The timing of it, right when the firsat semester ends, seems too coincidental.
  25. Some sort of extension brush at a hardware store? Maybe a paint supply store? Pressure washer?
