  1. Team Setback strikes again!
  2. The linked article had this gem in it: “His .400+ OBP and sharp baserunning make him a tactical asset for manager Craig Counsell.”
  3. I think that the portrayal is accurate. I believe that with the number of innings the bullpen has pitched, and will probably pitch going forward, that the depth at Nashville will be used extensively. A lot of those demoted relievers will be coming back as the season goes on. I think we are seeing some fatigue already. They cannot ride the high leverage guys as extensively as they have.
  4. I would pay to watch Willson take a hard tag from Javy Baez at second. Or Machado spiking him at first base.
  5. Thanks, @sveumrules. Nice to see those pitching numbers. There has been a number of posts about how poor our bullpen has been, but as you mentioned, aside from blips, it's been really good. And your numbers bear that out.
  6. Don’t trade Cameron Crow. Especially now, when he’s Almost Famous.
  7. Turned on the Reds game to see Martinez finish the no-hitter. 2nd pitch I see is a double that breaks up the no-no
  8. My standard statement where I say after over 50 years of watching baseball, I have no idea what a balk is. I’m always surprised when it’s called.
  9. I hear high fives and “now you have a better game plan for your retirement” in my nightmares.
  10. I should probably let this go, but Molitor didn't struggle with staying on the field "early on." As I said he played 125, 140 and 111 games in his first three years. Year four was a strike year where he played in 64 of 109, and then in season five, played 160 games and accumulated 6 WAR.
  11. Molitor, who averaged 125 games and accumulated 12.1 WAR in his first three seasons? That Molitor? The one who missed most of his fourth season but came back and played 160 games while getting 201 hits and scoring 136 runs while batting .302? Yeah, weird that I didn't think of Mitchell in the same category. Molitor gave them reasons to have patience with his play on the field. My all-time favorite player and I was as frustrated as anyone with his injuries, but it was because what I saw him do in actual MLB games that made it so frustrating.
