  1. I don't care who it really was, I choose to believe it was Jesse Winker.
  2. According to Baseball Reference, Kotsay started 9 games in CF that year, 58 innings total. He hadn't played even 100 innings in CF in the previous two seasons.
  3. My Walgreens had a BOGO on antacids. I got two bottles. I'm ready.
  4. I certainly expect to see a different Dodgers team beginning today.
  5. I read them all. They are excellent. Buckyville is the site.
  6. Gard was on the radio this morning and said it was indeed due to those business interests in NZ. Penney didn't want to make coaching a career. Davison does. I can picture Davison being the next coach of the Badgers after a longish stint as an assistant. And with Krabbenhoft and Davison running practice, players better bring the Icy Hot! Gonna be some banging.
  7. He typed "1 game", not "game 1". I think he was referring to Game 3, when the Brewers would have to fly to San Diego for one game and complete the sweep.
  8. Not sure where you got those numbers, but the NLC and ALE played 75 games this year, not 216. That would be ~43 games per team against that division. Each team played 15. The NL Central was 35-40 against the AL East. MKE was 8-7, Cubs and Reds 9-6, STL 3-12, and PGH was 6-9.
  9. Same. However, on the heels of that, I got a reversal of the same charge on my card. Looks like they made an error that they fixed without me having to call and yell at them.
  10. When I was a kid, every day I would scour the sports page for box scores, standings, etc. On the Monday following the last game of the season, I would look at the standings, and instead of the daily lineup of teams and starting pitchers, it would say: End of Regular Season Always made me sad.
  11. Bauers was 17 of 41 in September before not starting the last four games.. Then he had three at bats in the last four games before tonight. That’s the only reason he has “cooled down.”
  12. Come on, the Reds got two singles after the double was misplayed. I think Lux would have scored.
  13. You only need a .578 winning percentage in the playoffs. 11-8 can get it done. i mean, a game 5 and two game sevens would probably cause irreparable damage to my nervous system, but those are the numbers.
  14. Dbacks are going to get the final wild card, aren’t they?
  15. I dont agree with every decision Murphy makes, but the guy gets waaay more criticism than praise on here. Defending him doesn’t mean I think he’s perfect, but if a pitcher blows up, it’s often Murphy who gets criticism (used a guy too much, left him in a batter too long, etc). But when they shut down an opponent with Mears, Uribe, Megill, no one will credit Murphy. .588 winning percentage.
  16. Jackson! Come on. The opposing batter's box is not the strike zone. Looking like late-career Rickie Weeks out there.
  17. My Fan Duel is so far behind. ESPN told me Jansen struck out before he even came up to bat on my tv.
  18. Can't do a lot when you don't get a ball out of the infield. Damn, this has been a frustrating road trip.
  19. Such a Brewer inning. Walk, FC, Bunt hit. Keep it going, guys.
  20. Yay! another two-out hit with no one on.
