    Every indication of a game with the long view in mind: short start for Miz, kept trying the stolen base, pitching changes during an inning, giving Harrison a shot. I think Murphy does a great job managing this team. He gets so much grief in these threads and I’m stunned. Glad he’s the manager.

    It seems that someone could do a frame-by-frame comparison of how long it took a Mike Caldwell fastball to get to home plate and compare it frame-by-frame to a Logan Henderson version. I would love to know the difference in eras. or perhaps it’s been done and I’ve just never seen the results

    Cross Globe Life off of my list. Glad the roof was closed because it was 100 degrees in Dallas yesterday, but it felt like a shopping mall with a baseball diamond.

    Reds getting outscored 34-1 in their last two really puts a dent in the ol’ run differential

    The Brewers are 121 games under .500. I have been tracking their progress toward .500 for a few years now (I'm not counting the Pilots year). The last time they were 121 games under .500 was near the end of the 1995 season. Steve Sparks got the win. I hope that next year they get to fewer than 100 games below .500 for the first time since 1993. Since they hit their low mark of 329 games under on August 30, 2016 (Cory Knebel took the loss in 10 innings against STL), they've been steadily climbing. This organization has never been above .500. They were 3-3 in the first six games of their history. That is as close as they have gotten.

    I've been doing a major deck project for the past few weeks, so any day baseball has been greatly appreciated. I will be listening to the Cubs game for sure.
