  1. Jackson is lost at the moment. Swung at a pitch that almost hit him, then waved at two in the middle.
  2. Exactly. They had 28 hits against st. louis in three games. Scored 5 runs. And one of them was a tenth-inning Manfred man run. They just haven't been getting timely hits. Offense is my biggest concern by far. I still think they won't slug enough for postseason success. We've seen, infield hit, stolen base, FC to advance the runner to third, sac fly to score a run. Next inning, opponent comes up, one pitch, home run. Tie game.
  3. Padres 29th in homers, and Brewers give up homers to Iglesias and Arraez, noted sluggers.
  4. "Not a lot of misses by Zimmerman except the pitch that hung for the grand slam." Not too comforting, Mr. Dillard.
  5. If I were managing the Brewers, I might have them get some base runners before two are out in the inning. Seems easier to score runs that way. (11th inning last night notwithstanding)
  6. I've said this in other posts. The Brewers have had the opponents that the fans wanted to see in the first round (Nats, Dbacks, Mets, even the Braves) and it hasn't worked. Let the chips fall where they may.
  7. I guess that's good, but it just speaks to the lack of veteran presence in the lineup, doesn't it? I would guess that the Phillies don't have a lot of young WAR because they have Realmuto, Harper, Bader, Castellanos, Schwarber, et al clogging up the lineup. They have exactly one 24-yo relief pitcher on the roster right now. Everyone else is 26 or older. I guess your point is that they are producing, which is great, but so would a lot of veterans in that same spot.
  8. Muttering to myself: 11 days till game one of the NLDS, 11 days till game one of the NLDS, 11 days till game one of the NLDS, 11 days till game one of the NLDS, 11 days till game one of the NLDS...
  9. Dodgers are 10-8 in September. I get it, they took 3/4 the Giants over the weekend, but red hot? 30-28 since the All-Star break? They have been treading water for half a season. I still don't want the Brewers to play them, but that's more my nervous fandom than anything the Dodgers have shown this year. Dodgers are one team that I don't think would surprise anyone if they flipped a switch when the playoffs begin. Now that I think about it, I really don't want to see the Brewers face the Padres, Cubs, Phillies or Reds/Mets, either.
  10. I bought tickets to the NLDS to ensure I’d have early access to the subsequent rounds. I know if they throw Game 2 at noon on Tuesday, my face value tickets wouldn’t sell at a profit if I couldn’t go. But if there’s World Series baseball in Milwaukee, I will be there
