    I don't generally feel bad for the Raiders, but they are really in a corner. Committed to a bunch of free agents in the interim. Maybe they shouldn't have moved, but it sure seems like the Ravens aren't being honest.

    Oh my, he hit that a mile. Apparently no unwritten rules to worry about because he stayed in the batter’s box a long, long time. Did a little salute as he headed out. I like Cruz. Maybe not on my team, but dang, his highs are HIGH.

    Thanks. Feels like a silly distinction. Like how many bench press reps a guy can do at the combine, as opposed to how he can play in a game.

    They seemed to lose their composure, and I think Boyd just got his shot in the lane blocked again. For all the talk of Wisconsin tempo, it was Oregon that got the Badgers to speed up at the individual level. They fumbled so many balls it had to be concern for the quick hands of Oregon. I mean, THAT was a 3-13 Big10 team?

Youth and energy? Bohm? Dude is 29. He would be one of the older guys on the Brewers. And I had to laugh at "arbitration control through 2026." Whew, I was worried his contract expired July 1 and they'd have to renegotiate in the middle of the season (That's sarcasm, btw). The author, Ryan Shea, seems to propose trades for their fantasy value. A quick scan of some of his other mock trades shows that he mentions fantasy in all of them. Plus his profile says he is a fan of all things New York.

    You are much more of an optimist than I am. A player who hasn't finished a season healthy since what, 2022? is telling us a slow ramp up to the season is no big deal. I agree that it's good to be cautious because the Brewers need him healthy, and I think the Brewers have to consider load management so that they have some pitching left in the playoffs. However, this team suffers injuries that seem to be no big deal that end up lasting weeks and even months. Chourio's hamstring "tickle" cost him a month, DL Hall's two to three weeks for a lat strain ended up being months, Bukauskas missed the whole year. There are other examples of injuries that are characterized as minor that end up being more than that.

    I like the uni as well. The Rays are wearing the same color combo today. Early thoughts at the top of the first: Joey Ortiz at DH really cleans up the logjam in the infield. I predict 120 starts for him there during the season. Classic Brewers rally. Walk, throw into CF on a steal attempt, infield hit, walk, hbp to score the run. Who needs power? Bases loaded, no one out in the top of the first allows the IGT sniping to begin. I'll start. Murphy's new contract has ruined him. He's a shell of himself as a manager. 1-0 Brewers without a ball hit out of the infield. I'm taking the over on wins.

    Not to mention that if you earn $5 million, $10 million, that's generational money as well. Maybe not as many generations, and some of your grandkids may have to go to public school, but it's still generational. It doesn't have to be $150 mil and up to qualify as generational. That said, I'd be no different if I was in that position. Probably.

    I agree with you on this power discussion. I would gladly take power from any position on the diamond, but at the moment, the Brewers are set at SS, 2B, 1B, C, CF, and RF. That leaves looking for a new power source from LF or 3B. So, asking for power from 3B or LF isn't from any kind of "dinosaur" thinking, it is because that is where there is an opening in the roster to insert a power hitter. If Contreras became Cal Raleigh or Chourio channeled 1996 Brady Anderson, I would be content with a lighter-hitting third baseman. Short of that, the Brewers don't have an obvious option at 3B. With that in mind, I wish they would find a guy for that position who can mash.

    Is Made seen as a power hitter? Doubles hitter, for sure. but as I've understood it he's kind of been an OBP guy.

    Went over to Sox talk. Initial fan response is positive. This guy: Wow! Can’t believe the Brewers accepted that trade. This was a steal. We got a promising and controlled IF for literally pure garbage. Edit: Is "pure garbage" an oxymoron?

    If I was a Boston fan, I would be so confused. As a Brewer fan, I have a lot of questions.

    Rob Z hasn’t been healthy for three straight seasons. Not saying I want Banda, but Z is another player that I expect to hear is having “discomfort”, then he disappears for three months.

    I do worry about injury, of course, but my anecdotal evidence of being in Arizona during the last WBC is that it was a blast to attend a couple of games. The country pride really made being in the stands feel like a soccer match. Singing, chanting, non-stop cheering. Then the celebration after was great as well. I'm interested in seeing the team from Japan so I know what the Dodger lineup will look like in a few years as well.
