  1. I don't recall anything indicating that Tellez's injury was potentially season-ending. I would think/hope that the beginning of the playoffs would be a worst-case schedule.
  2. It's time. Get this division stuff over with once and for all this week, and start prepping for the playoffs. Would like to curb stomp the Cardinals in the process, but no one behind them seems to want a Wild Card spot either. Hopefully Adames and Taylor are back this week. Has anyone seen any updates on Tellez? It would be nice to get this team back close to full strength before the end of the month.
  3. It’s been reported the TBD is Anderson. I think they’re trying to give Burnes the extra day of rest and do whatever possible to limit him from being gassed entering October. If they’re going with Anderson and Houser against Mikolas and Wainwright, the thought that the Brewers have the pitching advantage falls by the wayside. Whatever advantage the Brewers might have in the first two games is offset by the Cards advantage in the last two. Hopefully they get two good performances today and tomorrow and put this inevitable division thing to bed once and for all. Then it wouldn't really matter who starts games 3 and 4. Of course, it would matter to those teams who are chasing the Cardinals ... but the Padres and Phillies (not to mention the Reds) have no one to blame but themselves.
  4. Good luck. I found a Bears bar in Land O Lakes Middle of Lake Superior maybe? There is a Bears bar in Bayfield. can't get more "north" than that.
  5. Reds are done. Time to curb stomp the Cardinals this week. They can go away.
  6. There are pics of him wearing #56 too, but it appears that he never wore it in the regular season.
  7. I have no idea why Gorman Thomas wore so many different numbers in his Brewers career. I must have found at least 5-6 different numbers on him.
  8. Was hoping they would clinch the division this weekend, but clinching it against the Cardinals would be a sweet consolation prize. I'm getting pretty sick of this Cardinal Devil Magic.
  9. There ... NOW this is appropriate. I still have no idea why Sal Bando allowed Pat Listach to wear Molitor's #4 in 1996. I always hoped that it was Listach's way of honoring Molitor
  10. I'd rather see the Padres miss the playoffs, they have the most talent on paper. The Reds are going nowhere with that bullpen. Since August 1st, St. Louis is 16-7 against teams with losing records (.695), they are 6-7 against teams with a winning record (4.61). There's nothing magical, other than a schedule where down the stretch they have played more games against bad teams than good ones. Outside of Wainwright the Cardinals don't have a starting pitcher with a FIP below 4.30, and only two bullpen arms who are better than mediocre (Gallegos and Cabrera) the pitching staff isn't one with the horses to make a deep post season run. I know. It isn't logical. Just going with my gut. Hate both the Reds and Cardinals. Just want them gone.
  11. Good analogy with the team that consistently "won" the offseason back in the day by grabbing over the hill names like Bruce Smith and Deion Sanders! Also very similar to recent Minnesota Vikings teams. Paper champions. Grabbing "shiny object" guys like Moustakas and Castellanos, along with Winker's and India's ascent, got them plenty of hype, but they have proven that you cannot build a consistent, competitive team while ignoring defense and the bullpen.
  12. The Brewers have a 12.5 game lead with 16 games remaining. What you are suggesting is not an absolute statistical impossibility, but it is definitely toeing that line.
  13. Well, after taking four days off, hopefully the offense will be good to go on Friday.
  14. So many terrible check swings today. Haven't seen this poor of plate discipline in a while from this team. Super frustrating game to follow this afternoon.
  15. Come on guys ... I know it wasn't in blue, but the Woodruff rotation spot point was about as sarcastic as you're gonna get.
  16. It really is crazy. Woodruff looks like Cy Young through 3, labors in the 4th, and now is getting hit hard. Perhaps this should have been a planned piggyback game, as Woody just doesn't have the command today.
  17. Well this isn't ideal. Bloop single and a bunt single/error, and they are in big trouble now. I don't like the starters feeling the need to be perfect because the offense can't do anything against junk starting pitching. This feels like a May game.
  18. Another scrub pitcher mowing down the lineup. I was hoping we were past this.
  19. I think that is going to happen sooner rather than later with Stokes.
  20. Like OSS pointed out, the other options in the Packers' price range were garbage. Not hitting on Josh Jackson continues to hurt. Kyle Fuller signed for 1/9.5, AJ Bouye signed for 2/7, Xavier Rhodes for 1/4.5, Patrick Peterson for 1/8. I understand that these guys aren't Jalen Ramsey but most have had various levels of success rather than just being generally a perennial bad player like King has. They were absolutely better options. It was actually quite a good market for cheap CBs where we didn't need to resort to bringing someone like King back. There was no way Rhodes wasn't going to re-sign with the Colts after his renaissance year last season. He looked like the worst CB in the NFL in his last year with the Vikings. I also see his deal at $6.5 million for 2021. Bouye is currently serving the rest of a 6-game suspension, which plummeted his value. He was also bad last year when he did play. I personally wanted the Packers to sign Peterson, but he ended up going for more than I thought he would. Also, he looked washed last week. Fuller would have been a nice signing, but he's also making almost double what King is.

  22. The Packers and Rodgers have typically responded very well in games following losses, so I fully expect the offense to drop 40 on the Lions. The real question is whether the defense is going to give up 45.
