  1. Priester is 9-2 with a 3.28 ERA. That deal has paid huge dividends so far.
  2. What i'm wondering is when the OP is going to be seen for what he truly is: a troll? Being contrarian once in awhile is fine. Playing devil's advocate on occasion can even be healthy. But no one is that narcissistic not on purpose.
  3. Considering 1B has been a turnstyle pretty much ever since Fielder was dealt, Hoskins has been fine. It's nice having a stick there that other teams at least have to account for.
  4. Exactly zero general managers act in this way.
  5. LOL come on. Hoskins has been solid if not good this year, with an OPS of .799. He was decidedly not great last year, but still put up an OPS of .722, along with 26 HRs. JBJ had an abysmal OPS of .497 in his time with the Brewers. The two are not comparable.
  6. Logan Henderson = 1 MLB start, 6 IP Aaron Civale = 118 MLB starts, 639 IP I get that Henderson is shiny and new, but I suggest holding our horses before we anoint him as a better option than a guy who has been a solid MLB starter for more than a half decade.
  7. Right ... imagine writing off a highly-thought-of former 1st round 24-year-old with all of 123 MLB innings to his name. Sure am glad the Brewers seem to have better long-term planning than some around here.
  8. This post needs to be bookmarked. For posterity. Also, given who posted it, it is likely pretty evergreen.
  9. In this case, that will be the level of insufferability during that game.
  10. I imagine that was part of the decision process here. Probably same with Henderson. I would imagine we will see Craig Yoho and perhaps even Jacob Misiorowski relatively soon as well.
  11. I have to imagine that this means we'll be seeing Caleb Durbin make his MLB debut this weekend.
  12. I think even the most ardent supporters of the team realize that they likely fumbled this one. That said, the hyperbolic "fireable offense" crap is very much over the top. It's those reactions that are getting pushback.
  13. This McCalvy tweet seems to indicate that Priester is jumping straight to the MLB club.
  14. I am actually pretty excited to see him in action for the Brewers soon. The value that the Brewers gave up in this deal indicates that they think very highly of Priester's talent and future in the organization.
  15. Don't you know this is the internet? We need to immediately declare that the Brewers lost the trade in grandiose fashion.
  16. Especially those who are young and cost-controlled for the immediate future.
  17. Seems like a big price to pay for a guy who hasn't shown much since being a high pick. But he is a good-sized righty who throws hard (touching 97) and is only 24. The Brewers have earned the benefit of the doubt, especially when developing pitching, so we'll see.
  18. 92 wins. This team has proven to be resilient, at least in the regular season. No reason to expect otherwise, unless you are a pessimist.
  19. You were upset that the Brewers traded Ginter to the A's for Cruz and Lehr? That's kind of an odd one to get upset about IMO. I could totally understand, though, if you were upset that they gave up on Cruz too early, and shipped him to the Rangers in the package for Cordero, Mench and Nix. Considering Cruz is a possible HOF'er, that would make more sense.
  20. It could very well be a three-way race between the Steelers, Giants and Vikings. I believe the report that he is intrigued by the Vikings' opening, but is probably weighing whether pulling a total Favre would completely tarnish the legacy he built in Green Bay.
  21. Kupp's skillset would be pretty redundant with Doubs, Wicks, Reed and Heath around. He was never a burner, but at this point in his career, he's strictly a possession guy. The Packers are in dire need of a receiver that can take the top off a defense until Watson is once again healthy. Bo Melton has some of those traits, but he's inconsistent. After missing out on Metcalf, I almost sort of expected them to throw a cheap contract at MVS, but that didn't happen. Not they are pretty much forced to look for that component in the draft, unless a trade comes out of nowhere.
  22. I personally think that is the thought at play. Give Tom the bag and move him to LT, then have Morgan slide in at RT. Walker has been solid, if not good at LT, but you can't pay everyone. I could see him as trade bait eventually.
