  1. OPS plummeted to .985 and WAR to 5.2 in his last season as a Yankee at age 39. What a loser. Weren't they basically playing slow pitch softball back then? Don't know about that. There definitely weren't as many guys who threw heat, but Walter Johnson and Smoky Joe Wood were known to at least have upper 90s heaters.
  2. I can see that now, but that was not my intent. Have been around here for 10+ years and 6,000 posts, have never been one to post provacative stuff. Until now, I think the closest I've come to that is putting Peralta #1 on my Top 25 list. Well, if the results so far this year are two be believed, you may be "Prospect Nostradamus". Unless you are talking about Wily. Who is a stark reminder on being careful not to put too much hope on homegrown pitching prospects. But I digress ...
  3. I really like Lopez, and hope he sticks. It would be great to see another homegrown draftee become a key contributor. Mid-90s fastball and maybe what is the best curve in the system. All the tools are there to be a dominant late-inning reliever.
  4. It's more the "clickbaity" type subject than the arguments going on in the thread. A better subject would maybe have been something like "Braun's Future with Team" or "When do we move on from Braun". But the subject the way its written doesn't point that direction to a lot of people.
  5. Because....? The announcers were, to put it lightly, horrible.
  6. If only we had several Brewers beat reporters who may be able to look into this situation involving the team's top prospect ...
  7. But Nottingham is useless, and Stearns got fleeced in that trade! Or so I've been told.
  8. I kinda want this thread locked. Every time I see it at the top of the forum, I feel like the rest of MLB is laughing at us. I know I've already seen screenshots of it out there in Brewers twitterland, mocking in nature, and rightly so.
  9. Woodruff is tossing a gem through 5 for Colorado Springs (0 ER, 1 H). Because of course he is.
  10. Yeah, that's the story of the game ... Adam Wainwright. Idiots
  11. I know hindsight is 20/20, but I think if Hader stays in, this one is over.
  12. Man, sawed off Ozuna and gets a dunk hit. That's about right.
  13. Wow these announcers are just .... man. Lets just say that we are lucky to have BA and LePay and even Rock.
  14. Now even Houser is looking like a potential big future contributor. The gift that keeps on giving. Man the Astros farm was stacked back then. Its no wonder they have a juggernaut now.
  15. That's why as much as I love him in the pen, I want to eventually see him in the rotation. True Ace potential.
  16. bet he doesn't... Counsell is a big "role" guy. I think Albers is out for the 9th.
  17. Got it. Guess I misconstrued what you were saying. The continuous Villar bashing has gotten old around here. He's been just fine this year. I agree that a hit there would have been nice, though.
  18. Dan Jennings is only confirming that he should have pitched last night.
  19. I understand this sentiment. However, it'd also been nice if the lead off hitter could have gotten a hit after the pitcher hit a double. Villar will never do anything right *sigh
  20. I think he was about 10 feet from 3rd, then stopped and went back. LOL
  21. Solid work by Jennings. I feel that Guerra could have done that, though. I wonder if we see Jorge Lopez or Hader next?
  22. Ugh come on Counsell ... gotta stick with Guerra longer there. Don't like the quick hook here.
