  1. Man Taylor Williams has good stuff. Upper 90s with movement. If he can iron out the inconsistencies, he could be a stud for a long time in this pen.
  2. Nailed it! And given Counsell's lineup roulette routine, that's saying something.
  3. Hoping we'll see Nottingham once or twice more before he's likely demoted on Monday. Seems to have a decent approach at the plate (despite no hits yet), and the defense has been better than advertised.
  4. Interesting group of starters slated for work tonight. Of course, that is a near every-night thing now, which is pretty cool. I don't ever remember having this much quality pitching depth in the system.
  5. Well, I know a guy who still happily wears his Reuben Quevedo jersey. Everyone has a guilty vice I suppose I guess I really don't mind Drake if he is truly used as he was last night. But with the short starts and low scoring games so far, the bullpen is being taxed pretty good, and it's tough having a guy out there who you can't trust to get an out in any sort of leverage situation. In any case, they are going to have a little pitching crunch soon when Logan and Miley are ready to contribute, and something will have to give. Yes, something will have to give, and that something is Taylor Williams. You may not like it, but he has options and he will go down before Drake. You are likely right, and while sending Williams down would be disappointing and I believe a very wrong choice, I agree that it is likely. But if they activate both Logan and Miley, that's two spots needed. If Suter is taking the long-man pen garbage man role, that still leaves Drake on the outside looking in, in my opinion.
  6. I think this should be morphed into the Ryan Braun Appreciation Thread, and any anti-Braun stuff deleted.

  8. I would advocate that you don't need a reverse-split lefty specialist when you have actual lefty specialists who are more effective. Once Logan is back, and Suter is shipped to the pen, Drake has no use anymore.
  9. I am convinced that article was specifically written to rile up the posters here and on Brewer Twitter who aren't Drake fans. Isn't that author a regular on Brewers Twitter? "Oliver Drake should become a Brewers fan favorite: this is what a systemic arm looks like for the new, pitching-focused Brewers." Are we sure this isn't an Onion-esque tongue-in-cheek article?
  10. I'm going to say Burnes isn't up until after the AS break. I see them exhausting all veteran-type options before looking his direction.
  11. The issue now is with Hader, Jennings and the impending return of Logan, along with the likelihood that Suter will be thrown into the bullpen if/when Miley is added, the team is suddenly lefty-heavy there. It's too bad, too, as Ramirez has proven that he deserves a shot with the big club, and his ability to serve as a pinch hitter and end-of-the-bench 1B/OF could prove valuable.
  12. I'm not advocating for a straight benching, but perhaps a couple "get your mind right" days may do the guy some good. Or they could "Keon Broxton" him down to Colorado Springs for a couple weeks to get the cobwebs cleared out. In any case, he needs to figure things out at some point here soon, or he's going to lose field time.
  13. I don't think there is any chance they dump Perez. Counsell and Stearns value versatility, and that is what Perez is. Plus his bat is better than Saladino. If I were Sogard, I'd be looking over my shoulder, though. He's inching quite close to the end of the 25-man with every pop-up and weak grounder.
  14. Ugh. Drake always looks so useful in non-leverage situations.
  15. A Drake sighting! Let him finish it off, and he'll be off limits for the weekend.
  16. I'm going to guess Dave Parker and, um ... Aramis Ramirez (just because he started so young, played a long time, and was rarely hurt).
  17. Correct. He is 28 on the all time list with 1676...133 as a Brewer Dave Parker is up there on the career RBI list as well, but I think he was a couple hundred behind Sheffield.
  18. I agree ... this is the perfect spot to let Drake finish it out. But we get Taylor Williams. I guess he could use the work before he's thrown out there in more high leverage situations. I would imagine/hope that Drake is gone once Boone Logan is back.
  19. Amazing how a few games in a row against the two worst teams in the majors can be the magic elixir to cure all that ails a team.
  20. As far as I'm concerned, we can stick Braun out in RF. Santana looks completely lost.
  21. On pace for 85 innings so far this season which would be a career high. He’s been so dang good for the crew this year. Not bad for a guy who several here were ready to drop this spring.
  22. I agree. That's why Realmuto won't be a Brewer. The need just doesn't justify the cost. If/when Burnes is dealt, it will be for a controllable top-of-rotation guy.
  23. Excited for Houser's start. I hope he gets stretched out into a starting role again. He flashed a big-time arm in his short time up with the big club.
