  1. This tells me they are getting wins exactly as designed. They are a team built on the strength of their pitching.
  2. LOL I've never seen someone who posts so much consistently hate the team they are posting about.
  3. This is still a good team. Every team has ugly points to their season. I feel like more should realize this.
  4. They put up 5 last night. Should have been more than enough.
  5. Because that is pure lunacy.
  6. Milner is the definition of a guy finding success via the "smoke and mirrors" route. But he's been very effective this season, so I'm willing to ride this wave of good fortune for as long as it lasts.
  7. Reynolds has several years of control remaining
  8. I hope that there is a team out there that believes that a guy who Ks nearly 50% of the time is a "good hitter". They should be able to fleece that team in a deal.
  9. I assume it's because they want him to get consistent ABs
  10. I assume the team feels that Cutch and Renfroe can play CF in a pinch, but not on a full time basis.
  11. Houser played catch today. Hopefully he's back sooner than later.
  12. Jace Peterson has no business being as useful as he's been the last couple years.
  13. Interesting move. I'm guessing it's maybe with the idea of wanting Keston to get more consistent ABs heading into the MLB All-Star Break. Seems odd to send down a guy who, albeit in a small sample, is batting .380 this month.
  14. Because these prospect rankings are not based on only the last couple weeks of results. Wiemer was a stud last year and was very good for a good portion of this season before getting hurt and scuffling a bit since his return.
  15. Adrian Houser obviously hasn't been great this year, but he is coming off a year where he went 10-6 with a 3.22 ERA. Even with his down year, his numbers are very similar to Greinke's, and he's 9 years younger. Why in the world is Houser being thrown in with a AAAA retread like Alexander, let alone being viewed as someone who can be replaced via "serious upgrade" in Greinke? Greinke has had a great career, but he's 38 and is pretty much toast.
  16. This is incorrect. Moose played 3B after the Brewers traded for him. Shaw made the switch to 2nd. It wasn't until the next year that Moose played 2B for the Brewers.
  17. Never said he was "just a guy". He's solid. He'd certainly be an upgrade in CF from what the team already has. But his .719 OPS certainly doesn't scream "difference maker" in the lineup.
  18. Reynolds maybe. Probably not Mullins though. He's a solid player, but he simply doesn't have enough of a track record for a team to give up a huge haul for him. He was great last year, but this year is much closer to career norms, which have been meh.
  19. I seriously think some of you are going to be really surprised by the returns these guys bring when they start getting moved. A guy like Mullins is a solid player with control, but he isn't a superstar. Guys like him aren't going to cause a bidding war where teams give up multiple Top 100 prospects.
  20. So he's ... an MLB power hitter. They all go into funks at the plate. The good ones are the ones who can limit those funks to a few games to a week.
  21. This is akin to saying that "they'd hang up on you." Major League baseball team GMs don't operate that way. If they did, they wouldn't be GMs for very long.
  22. I apologize if it appears that I was attributing the "“dumpster fire with no hope of doing anything in the playoffs” idea to you. That was more of a general statement that probably envelopes a number of posters here. I don't really think it should be met with any sort of surprise, though, that when the posters who are consistently negative and pessimistic make those type of assertions, they will be met with others who make an aggressive attempt to refute them. And so what if someone disagrees with your view and believes that the offense is just fine. It's a message board. People are going to disagree. Why rip on those who are using advanced stats as part of their argument? For the record, I'm not a fan of this article. It cherry picks advanced stats to paint a negative picture of the rest of the season, without taking the idea of internal improvement or outside acquisitions into consideration.
  23. In my day job, I'm literally a magazine editor. So yeah, maybe I have a little OCD about the capitalization thing.
