  1. Ji-Man Choi wanted to make clear that the Twitter report yesterday stating he wanted to be traded was wholly inaccurate. “That’s 100% false,” he said. “I’m happy to be here and I was shocked when it came out. It made me angry. I’ve spoken with my agent about it as well.”
  2. Considering where they are in the lineup, I would say it is. Knowing Shaw the way I think I do, he will own up to it after the game and say it won't happen again. Can't get too upset with him during a game like today. Imagine if Kratz did that?
  3. This. Rizzo took at least two steps out of his original path (from one side of the foul line to his last step on the infield grass in front of the plate) in order to slide into the catcher's legs.
  4. When they show the replay up the line Rizzo's body was sliding right toward the plate but he sort of hooks his legs out. I would totally agree that violates in the intent of the rule but I'm not sure if it violates the letter of the rule. Either way Rizzo should be drilled tomorrow and if they can figure out a way to do it, Maddon too. Why the hell was he arguing that the Pirates challenged and then arguing after the replay was in his favor? Sure looks like he deviated from his path to initiate contact to me... I'd like to hear an explanation from MLB on that call.
  5. https://mobile.twitter.com/MLBReplays/status/1001207537608286208 How is that not interference on Rizzo and how was it not overturned?
  6. I know, right? Roenicke, er, Counsell needs to adapt. I don't get the crap Counsell is getting over this or the comparisons to Roenicke (or Yost that I've seen as well). He's been pretty willing to shake up his bullpen usage and has treated Hader as a bullpen ace, bringing him in as early as the 4th inning this year or having him go multiple innings to face the opponents best hitters. He's been pretty quick to pull the plug on our starters and go to the bullpen when they get into trouble the 3rd time thru the order as well (to the point where people are complaining about that too). Yes, he went back to using a set closer in the 9th and I don't totally agree with it, but that is something that pretty much all managers do so I can't really get hung up on it. Reading thru the game threads (and a fair amount of other threads) most days, you would think the Brewers were 14 games under .500 instead of 14 over, and currently in 1st, based on the constant negativity from some. I understand the IGT's are largely reactionary but you think there would be a little more leeway based on how the team is doing overall. It seems as if some people are expecting perfection from the players and Counsell every game. There are gonna be moves that backfire and players that make mistakes or have bad games, but that happens to every team, every year and is not the end of the world (even if we missed the playoffs by one game last year).
  7. Gamecast had only the 2nd strike to Conforto out of the zone.
  8. He ditched Cleveland knowing he was going to be traded to a contender either way. He did so because Cleveland wouldn't promise he would be a full time catcher the final year of his contract. I don't blame him for wanting to maximize his value after playing most of his prime years for far less than his actual value. Dude was one of the top catchers in the game and they wanted to make him an average first baseman in a free agent year. I would have said no too. People seem to remember a silly comment he made far more than how much he contributed to the team and how little we paid him for it. Had he been getting paid what he was worth I doubt we would have got back what we did. Nobody forced Lucroy to sign that contract.
  9. Value = Worth. Haudricourt said there was more interest in Broxton and people have been discussing his value. I don't believe anybody has said Broxton has more trade value than Santana, just more interest. There are posters who bash Villar and there are posters who believe he could bounce back just like there are posters who treat Broxton (and plenty of others) the same way. I haven't seen too many going out of there way to hate on Villar while praising or expecting great things from Broxton. I'd personally say that both of them have shown flashes but have yet to prove they can sustain it. Hence the reason you have the spectrum of opinions on both.
  10. I'm pretty sure there is a way to "transfer" the ticket to others if they have the app. Otherwise, just screenshot the ticket for each person - I did that just in case my internet wasn't working and then my wife had a copy too. Cool. I will do that. What's to stop someone from taking a screen shot then selling them on stub hub? My fiance brought it up and I didn't have an answer. Couldn't somebody do the same with print-at-home tickets? Or people entering the stadium with a ticket and then reselling it? I had that happen to me before.

  12. Hey kid you sound pretty smart, wish I could be you someday. Nothing like patting yourself on the back about something 6 innings into your 27 inning prediction.
  13. Once again, is there any proof the Brewers aren't giving out the number? Have players requested 17 and been told no? Brewers went 25 years between issuing #35 to a player (before being issued to Shane Peterson and now Brent Suter). I can't imagine that was because it was worn by the iconic Mike Capel and Narsico Elvira in 1990. Yes, Hader, who had to take 71 instead. Ah, good call. It looks like he took #71 as a NRI back in Spring Training 2015. Wonder if Gantner was helping out that year?
  14. They're full-time coaches. Gantner isn't. Once again, is there any proof the Brewers aren't giving out the number? Have players requested 17 and been told no? 15. It's not an issue that Walker wears 15, it's an issue that the Brewers won't issue 17. I get it. Gantner's from Wisconsin. Still, on those Brewers teams? He's probably the sixth or seventh-best starting player depending on the season. (And was a reserve in the late 70s when the Brewers emerged.) And you know the Brewers have refused to issue #17 to whom?
  16. What does he do that is so annoying?
  17. What evidence do you have that he isn't doing an "average job" out there? I'm sure if you'd ask fans of most, if not all, teams they would claim their 3rd base coach is terrible.
  18. That was a terrible call... game should have been tied.
  19. I was at the Brewers/Expos game when Jenkins had 3 homers (2002?) and he came up for his 4th at bat with the bases loaded and a chance to hit for the homerun cycle. Unfortunately he struck out in that last at bat. Exciting nonethe less. Didn't he fly out to right center near the wall with the bases loaded? Box scores I looked at didn't have him with a K that day (though they also show him with only 2 HR's but I know that is wrong).
  20. Pretty poor strike 2 and 3 calls on Santana to end the 5th.
  21. Discussing waiving his no trade clause?
  22. But if we hit them, aren't they just as likely (or more likely) to hit us in retaliation? That is how they play, so all we would be doing is increasing the chances of our players getting hit while putting a runner on base.
  23. So the Brewers intentionally hitting a Cardinals batter will decrease the odds that the Cardinals will retaliate? Don't think that is how they operate.. odds are it will increase the chance that one of our players get plunked again.
