  1. Aguilar has a .263/.349/.368 line in 43 PA in June. Not terrible.
  2. Man, this kid is impressive. Only A ball but his plate discipline and contact are extraordinary for a kid his age. I feel like he has the frame to add some weight and hopefully gain some power. Excited to watch him develop.
  3. I was thinking they would send Shaw down to AAA to get his stuff figured out. He still has two options remaining.
  4. Lots of roster moves today. Wilkerson to the 10 day IR Recalled Donnie Hart from AAA Purchased contract of Jay Jackson from AAA DFA Alex Wilson (about time)
  5. Better idea: Wait until Saturday and hope the Yankees don't add Gio Gonzalez to the MLB roster, sign Gio, then use the savings to go after Kimbrel. I AM THE SMARTEST MAN ALIVE
  6. *standing ovation*
  7. I am going to the game on Saturday...love me some scallops so hopefully the truck is there and I can check it out!
  8. I would like to see his splits by pitch type. Is this available anywhere?
  9. This might have been discussed earlier but does anyone know Jimmy Nelson's line from his outing yesterday? Mainly just curious how many pitches/innings he threw.
  10. After 1.5 innings it appears things will not go the Brewers way tonight. Double play, Shaw out, caught stealing, robbed home run...and we have yet to face Babe La Stella
  11. They've lost a dominant closer and have an All Star setup guy who's velocity is down 6-8 mph. They've chosen to start the year with 3 talented but unproven starters. It's only natural that the fan base is feeling a little uneasy, especially after practically their entire staff couldn't keep the Cardinals off the board. We've seen this act before. What makes anyone expect Barnes and Williams to be anything but the inconsistent guys they've been in the past? Can they afford to keep both Burnes and Woodruff in the rotation? Does anyone really think that if they knew a couple months ago they'd be without Knebel for an entire year and Jeffress would feel the effects of a long season that they wouldn't make a stronger push to keep Miley or sign another veteran starter and leave either Burnes or Woodruff in the pen? Maybe Zach Brown needs to be groomed to relieve this year as did Burnes last year? Well sure because everyone knows you only perform as well as you did the prior year. It's ignorant to assume that because a player wasn't great last year, he won't be good this year. There are going to be unexpected players who make great contributions to this team. Did anyone expect Miley to do what he did last year? How about Aguilar? Again, its the SECOND game of the year. This team is going to lose 70+ games so everyone needs to accept it. Do we really have to complain about this team after one loss the second game of the year? Damn...
  12. My thoughts after two games: 1.) It's only two games 2.) I like the depth of our lineup. We will score a lot of runs. 3.) 2019 Peralta is 2018 Peralta. He will have great games and then he will have games like last night. First inning is still tough for him. 4.) Moose does not look good at second. His footwork and throwing angles from second really need to improve. 5.) With how quickly we pull starters, a dominant bullpen is needed for us to be successful. After Hader, I don't feel comfortable with the other options in the pen protecting a small lead. 6.) Really excited to see Woodruff and Burnes the next two games 7.) We may end April below .500 and that is okay. It's a gauntlet the first month of the season and the NL Central is going to be a grind.
  13. Yeah after Hader there isn't anyone I would feel comfortable giving the ball to in a close game. I think until Jeffress gets back we are going to have to rely on outscoring people. Even if the starters are throwing well Couns isn't going to let them go very long this early in the season. Pitching usually lags hitting this early in the season - pitchers have to get stuff ironed out and hitters are fresh - and Stearns isn't going to react after two games, but I am sure he realizes his pen needs work even if Jeffress comes back strong. Also, Moose looks pretty bad at second.
  14. I like the idea of getting one of the Giants relievers. There really isn't a spot for Ray. Although he put up great numbers last year in AA, he is still struggling mightly to make consistent contact. He doesn't really have a spot in the Milwaukee OF for the next couple of years (he wont be supplanting Braun, Yelich, or Cain or now we control Gamel for 4 years. I just don't know how other teams view Corey Ray...
  15. This is the transaction rumors thread. Taking large leaps from throw away statements is what we do here.
  16. Ever since Stearns became GM, he's poured over DFA's and low-level free agents at this time of year, and pretty consistently has turned over the 24th-25th man right before the start of the season. If they see a guy out there and theoretically is better than Thames or Barnes/Williams, they could very well make a move. I don't think that is any indication that Kimbrel is on his way, though. In fact, I would HIGHLY doubt that Kimbrel would immediately be added to the 25-man roster even if he's signed. He may be keeping himself is some sort of shape, but he still missed all of Spring Training. I don't mean to pee in anyone's Cheerios, but we gotta look at this logically. Fine, then trade Thames and Anderson for a solid bullpen piece, call up Spagenberg, AND THEN USE THE SALARY RELIEF TO SIGN KIMBREL!
  17. "GM David Stearns said there is "a possibility" of an outside acquisition to the 25-man roster." I will go on believing its Kimbrel until he is signed elsewhere!
  18. Win-Loss Record: 88-74 Playoffs (Yes, No): Yes Highest Playoff Level Achieved: NLCS All-Star Game Representative(s): Yelich, Hader, Cain, Grandal Offensive Player of the Year: Yelich Starting Pitcher of the Year: Big Wood Relief Pitcher of the Year: Hader Most Surprising Player: Arcia Most Disappointing Player: Jeffress I think Brewers are more talented this year but this season is going to be a grind. The NL Central is so loaded. We could finish first or fourth.
  19. Hader, Knebel, Jeffress, Kimbrel is better. I want that.
  20. Gotta figure its Bobby Wahl to the 60 day
