  1. Alright. This is the inning where it happens. Schoop makes contact and the ball goes out of the infield.
  2. That probably just means the upcoming commercial break will have two Pizza Ranch commercials followed by two Gruber Law Offices commercials. Nooooooooo!
  3. I mean, Marquez is batting .359 on the year (14 for 39) so that is pretty impressive
  4. I feel like every pitch to Schoop has been down in the zone and I'm not sure I have seen him put one in play yet
  5. The Cubs only have 5 more off days this year and have to play a streak of 23 in a row without and off day.
  6. Yeah. I mean, Schoop was an international signee so all he has known in the US is Baltimore. That has to be tough but hopefully he just needs to get acclimated. Long day yesterday, getting acclimated to the time zone difference, new team, facing Kershaw...I will give him the benefit of the doubt.
  7. It can only get better from here though...right?.....right?
  8. Man Aguilar is really having a rough stretch. When was the last time he actually squared one up and hit the ball hard?
  9. Exactly. This was a move for next year just as much as it was for this year.
  10. See my post: I think having a loaded bench when you double switch and pinch hit a lot in the NL is probably an undervalued commodity that Stearns is trying to tap into. This team is a top defensive team thanks to the staff, analytics, and transactions to acquire some of these guys. Again, they know what they’re doing if they think they can make it work in the context of the defense. I definitely can see the value in using Schoop in a double switch over Villar or Perez for a 3-4 inning 2 at bat stint. That's a lot to pay for that upgrade. I sure hope they know what their doing and I hopeful that it works out, but as noted above I'm a bit skeptical. On the surface it looks like we paid a lot for a very marginal upgrade. Are you saying Schoop is a marginal upgrade over Villar/Perez? Gotta disagree with you on that. He is way better.
  11. Deep breaths, deep breaths. This system lacks high ceiling talent. Carmona is just that. Call me crazy but I'm kind of sick of mediocre 40-45 FV depth guys. Hate to break it to you, but that is exactly what Carmona is. A 45 FV depth guy.
  12. You are worried about losing a rookie ball shortstop prospect with an OPS of .700? LOL You. Don't. Scout. The. Statline. So you are worried about losing a guy who is 4 or 5 years away from the Majors? For getting a MVP caliber middle infielder with another year of control?
  13. You are worried about losing a rookie ball shortstop prospect with an OPS of .700? LOL
  14. Rosenthal saying Brewers got Schoop
  15. looking more and more like there will be no moves before the deadline...still August though...
  16. where do you put him then?
  17. Stearns is just letting all the competition outbid for Archer and Gausman and he is going to make a splash and get Syndegaard
  18. He is definitely my least favorite option but it all depends on cost I don't care about the cost. I'd rather stand pat. I don't think Harvey adds anything to this team, so why give up anything? I would be okay with picking up his salary. That's it.
