  1. Has anyone heard the latest on Nelson? The last update was a couple weeks ago.
  2. No, this is Stearns. As I said before, I have no idea why he had to have Shaw in the Thornburg trade or Anderson in the Segura trade. You get those guys when you're ready to contend and have holes to fill, not in the middle of a rebuild. Stearns didn't get Anderson. That trade was like 5 years ago.
  3. My comments were specific to the offense, which has stunk for years and continues to stink, and they are not going to contend until that changes. They are at 3.70 runs per game this year which would put this team as fourth worst in Brewers history, right ahead of the '71, '72, and '76 teams.
  4. I just think you would want to be swinging early against a guy like Carasco who has a wipe out breaking ball. Why even let yourself get to two strikes with that pitch looming. I would be sitting fastball and swinging at the first one I get.
  5. On the bright side, I would rather have them start the season cold and end hot, as opposed to starting hot and ending cold like last year...
  6. If Domingo starts getting hot (and it looks like he has been) I think you need to put him up around #2 in the order. His .458 OBP over the last 7 games is wasted with Villar, Pina, and Arcia hitting behind him.
  7. I agree. Nothing they are doing gives me any confidence that they will break out of this slump. I hate to even call it a slump because I just think they are bad.
  8. That pretty much does it. I would be shocked if the Brewers could score 5 runs off of Carasco. Indians bullpen is pitiful but that didn't stop them from shutting the Brewers down last night.
  9. Carrasco has a nasty breaking pitch. Really easy to say "just don't swing" from where we are sitting. I'd like to think guys are smart enough to know "I just swung at 2 crappy sliders, odds are a 3rd one is coming...don't swing" but apparently for Arcia that isn't the case. Obviously I am not a professional baseball player, but I was more speaking to the fact that he swung at a pitch that he probably shouldnt have swung at regardless. Since it was a 1-0 pitch I would have thought he/most hitters would be looking for something to drive, not something on the outer half of the plate to put in play. At 1-2 I would expect him to swing at that pitch, but not 1-0. This seems to be an issue for the entire lineup. They let good early pitches right down the middle go by and end up swinging at crap outside the zone. Not a very aggressive offense...
  10. Arcia is painful to watch at the plate. He looks so lost. I don't think its a good idea to put a free swinger in front of the pitcher, but thats just me...
  11. Knebel reinstated from 10-day DL Saladino recalled from AAA Colorado Springs Miley placed on 10-day DL (right oblique strain) Franklin placed on 10-day DL (right quad strain) I get that Saladino is on the 40-man and has ML experience but does experience really matter if you have a career line of .231/.281/.330? Orf was at SS last night so maybe they are testing his versatility...
  12. Looks like Orf got the start at SS last night. Possibly testing his versatility since we seem to only care about how many defensive positions someone can play?
  13. We don't need starting pitching. Our starters have been about league average ranking 14th in the MLB in terms of starters ERA. Nelson due back soon and we have quality depth in AAA. What we really need is some offense...outside of Hiura who do we have that is projected to be an impact bat in our system? No chance he gets traded.
  14. Looks like Knebel is back in Milwaukee. Maybe being activated today? I'm guessing Lopez gets the boot.
  15. Seriously...at what point do we wave the white flag with Suter? He has been hammered every time out.
  16. Let Drake finish the last three innings so we can't use him for the next 4 games
  17. LOOK AT ALL THESE POINTS WE HAVE AND ITS ONLY THE 5TH INNING
  18. Medeiros too again. He may win people back this year. While we're at it, Hiura has a double and a HR tonight
