  1. Realmuto would make us NL favorites even without a starter acquisition. You add a starter as well... yikes .. i would feel better about this team then I ever have in my life. Well that’s not saying much haha
  2. Arcia walked. Well it’s nice knowing you guys- been fun! End of the world. Let’s rally for a crooked number boys
  3. IF they traded Hiura for Realmuto and also grabbed Gausman, I would be fine with the cost because we would be set for a few years with this level of excitement !
  4. Pina is not good anymore. Defensively and game calling he also leaves a lot to be desired as well.
  5. Sigh. I don’t want to be in the lead for Harvey. He just doesn’t move the needle for me. Although with DJ you never know what he can get out of a guy with ‘stuff’.
  6. This whole Archer to the Padres thing makes no sense .... wonder if it’s a ploy to generate more interest and higher offers ... or just plain silliness since San Diego has not and will not ever choose to rebuild or compete, thus shooting themselves in the foot over and over ... lol
  7. MadBum is a guy I would give up almost whatever they asked for him. Because 1. The Giants as good as they have been every other year, they make dumb decisions so we probably could get away with less for him than a deGroom or even a Archer. And 2. MadBum would give us the stud number one lock down with playoff pedigree. If we got him, I’d almost expect a deep run this year.
  8. Saw that on twitter and my first response was wondering about those that question what depleting your system looks like. DS has done just fine. Wow . Just wow. We have come so far. Thank you DS
  9. They make it sound like he isn't available, which translates to he available but the price is crazy. Not much on the market this summer, Ramos and Grandal. Kind of surprising they aren't giving Nottingham a longer look. Oh I agree 100% I think Nottingham overall would give equal or greater overall work to Pina’s overall game. I think he has a good shot to be a starter. His at bats - though not great outcomes - were decent and he showed more patience than we are used to!
  10. If we emptied some prospects right now... If it were for Realmuto.... I’d be extatic . We upgrade there instead of SP we would be ok. Imagine the lineup then !!!
  11. We have 60 wins. Up in wild card 1.5 back in division And we just sucked for a couple weeks And have another nice arm in the pen and Moose on the way DS will get us a starter too and look out NL!
  12. I’d take a Shoop and Gausman over nothing - as long as the cost is not killer. I think the biggest thing we all need to keep in mind is that a prospect is a prospect only ... most don’t pan out for various reasons. If we have a chance to make the lineup and rotation better, with where we are at this year already, I’m all for it. I don’t want to just play in the wild card game , I want to win the wild card game and go a couple rounds. This team as it sits today needs a Shoop ot Dozier or Gausman or Buddy or Gibson to do so. A couple of those would put us in fantastic shape and then I believe allow us to at least make it interesting with the Cubs.
  13. While I agree that Arcia had 3 pretty bad ABs last night, the last two featured balls he hit pretty darn hard. Maybe it's easy to say that after a win, but I'm not as discouraged as I was after about the fifth inning. Edit: I see that this was pointed out by others above. Apologies for the repetition. I want to believe it means something... But I also did think there would be a better "look" to his approach at least... instead it looked like the same guy we sent down. Hope I am wrong though!
  14. I have loved this trade since day one. He , like any player will slump, but as we have seen - when get gets going - he really gets going. His low end production is higher than average... and his high end production is stupid. It's fun to watch a guy who seems to "get" hitting. Oh and we get to watch him for several years... In his prime.... Love it.
  15. This title of this thread is misleading. He may be getting ML at bats but he sure is not back. Woof you'd think he would have at least a positive first game back based off pure adrenaline alone.... not another hat trick effort.... smh DS please get us some middle infielders that are at least average in the field AND with the stick... seems like we have one or the other (and a lot of neither lol)
  16. I would get behind that , however I’m not sure his value is super high right now .... he just doesn’t look good
  17. Correct, it makes plenty of sense from that standpoint. It also makes it easier for them to trade a catcher this year. I know Ramos is on the DL, but he could be an August waivers trade candidate if they don’t move him before the deadline. https://www.mlb.com/news/predictions-for-2018-mlb-trade-deadline/c-287131076?partnerId=ed-12915931-1086168613 Wilson Ramos, C, Rays There's a myth out there that says that players on the disabled list can't be traded, and it's simply not true. (As one of many examples, Bronson Arroyo and Phil Gosselin were both hurt when they were swapped on opposite sides of the Touki Toussaint trade.) Ramos was off to a fantastic start (.297/.346/.488) before he tweaked his hamstring, but he's expected to return in early August, and the best destination is the same as it's always been, because his old mates in Washington are suffering through one of the weakest offensive catching seasons (.183/.267/.266) of the 21st century. Prediction: Nationals And we thought our catching was bad.... WOOF. I'd like Ramos . Pina can back him up and be where he belongs - in a backup role.
  18. This has the brides maid feeling all over again...
  19. I believe Chris Archer - as long as he is not overpaid for - makes the Brewers rotation better.... AND... likely would be a better pitcher in the NL and with our pitching guru in DJ..... call it merely a hunch but as Peavey said ... if you keep the "big 3" - I think you do it feeling ok about it....
  20. I'm beginning to think that the Brewers will make moves but we won't hear any inside info at all until it basically happens.
  21. I wish there was a catching upgrade available this year ... other the arm and leg that Realmuto will cost! Wish Nottingham would have caught fire when he was up !!
  22. Deflating not to score, but Shaw’s bouncer to first wasn’t a weak out. Nearly a snowcone by Zimmerman to snare it, saving a double. Was harder hit than the one by Yelich last night. I stand corrected - limited to gamecast this evening. Is it sad I assumed it was a weak out ? That’s just were we are at now - we need a big break or a big acquisition or something !!
  23. That feeling when you have your two ‘run producers’ up back to back with the bases loaded and you get two weak outs to the right side and get no runs. Deflating.
